| NOTARELEASE - Legendz 26 avi |
[07 Apr 2008|06:42pm] |
Since some people still seem to prefer the xvid/avi versions of Legendz, I'll be encoding avi versions as well. HOWEVER, these will not be officially supported by us on bittorrent. They are provided as a convenience for you, but we would encourage you to download the higher quality h264 version. Here is the download link for episode 26.

KaizokuC let me use his permanent account (Thanks~), so the link will not expire.

From hanjie: Many thanks for Gallonigher for providing us with DVDs to work from. Multiple changes have been made to the encoding scheme to take advantage of the improved source material (outlined below). I decided to use mp4 because it has more industry backing (compared to mkv), which is good if you want to play these on a standalone DVD player or portable media device.
Major changes: -Content source is now DVD (formerly TV-rip) -Container is now mp4 (formerly avi) -Video codec is now x264 (formerly xvid) -Audio bitrate is now 192kbps MP3 (formerly 128kbps) -Frame rate is now 23.976fps (formerly 29.970) -Primary dialog font changed -New encoding scheme has been implemented, utilizing some elements from method used to process Digimon Adventure.
We will be using this format until the end of the series. Afterwards, we will redo episodes 1-25 using the DVDs as well. On an unrelated note, I'll be working at Tekkoshocon next weekend. So, if you'll be in Pittsburgh attending this con, feel free to say hi. I'll think of some way to make myself easy to identify.

| Legendz Status |

I've been asked when we're planning to release more Legendz episodes several times via email, IM, and in the community, so I'll address it now. I realize that it's been a long time since the last Legendz release, but we have no plans to drop this series. Currently, we are waiting for DVDs to arrive so that future releases will be DVD rips. I can't provide an exact ETA for the next episode, but it should be soon. Also, there will be some changes to the encode specifications, but I'll address that when we actually release.

This was just a gag suggested by chimeramechanic. We won't be making more of these, so just watch it for the lawl factor and if you have free bandwidth to download a 175mb file XD
(Note: Even though the file says xvid, it's a gif file. I didn't bother to change the name.)

Thank you people working in RyRo ♥ otsukaresamadeshita~
After this, I'm hoping to release the rest of the eps in batches of 10 or so, like we did with Digimon Savers DVD.
I'm at the parents' for spring (...winter) break = allergies and freezing galore = makes me want to do nothing but crawl into my bed, draw and play on my DS all day (omgggg Digimon Championship is hyper addictive except each one poops twice like every 5 minutes .____.). So when I'm on the computer, I'll be working on fansubbing stuff for the most part. Not only do I have eps to time/typeset, I have a long list of stuff to translate for Menclave and Saizen too. So don't mind me not answering nitpicky leecher questions. D8

| RyRo|Shiron back online |
[30 Jan 2008|01:28pm] |

After a major overhaul, the xdcc bot is operational again as of early this morning. However, the old Digimon Adventure releases have been taken down since we'll be releasing new versions. The staff has been experiencing a variety of technical issues, but now that most of those have been overcome, things should start moving again.

| RyRo|Shiron downtime (UPDATED) |
[14 Jan 2008|04:52am] |
RyRo|Shiron, the xdcc bot, will be down for a few days. I need the bandwidth to upload adventure raws. In the meantime, try using bittorrent or one of the direct downloads provided. Thanks for your patience.
EDIT: HE'S DEAD JIM! the computer hosting the bot and adventure raws (among other things) seems to be dead. well, hopefully not completely dead. the keyboard lights still respond when i press them, and i can hear the hard drive when it's trying to boot into windows. but the screen is blank the whole time. i tried reseating the video card, ram, and a couple of other things and dusting them with compressed air, but none of that helped. i have a feeling the video card is shot. i'll try to find a replacement tomorrow around school, but in case that doesn't work out, does anyone have an old (but working) video card they'd be willing to part with? ^^;

| Clarification for Adventure |

Posting fixes for Adventure is closed. Thank you for your input.
And to clarify on the release time, it will not be a Christmas release. Please, the staff also have their own celebrations and people they want to enjoy the holidays with, too. To give an example, I'll personally be working full time on Sunday and Monday (my birthday *wink wink*), while the actual Christmas day will be spent with family. We're real people with lives, and we can't chuck out large fansub batches mechanically, no matter how much you want us to. :o
Depending on how quickly the timing process goes (and real life does interfere with this), it may not be a literal New Years release either. The DVDs will arrive by the 26th latest, and I'll have to rip them and upload them for staff-use before they're further encoded for release... these things take time, and I, for one, do have plans to be outside enjoying the winter break season with returning friends in between. I hope you will understand that even if you cannot expect a new release immediately, you can expect it to come within the coming weeks. When, I can't truly say for certain. So go and enjoy your holidays with your loved ones instead of dropping by your computer every five seconds. We're doing the same.
It was my fault for making generalizations in my previous post and I apologize. m(_ _)m

| Digimon Adventure Final Fixes |

The ball is rolling, rolling, and gaining speed... Just like we've done for Savers, if you can find typos or timing errors in our Digimon Adventure 1-26 release, please note them in this post. These episodes will be given new encodes when we release the complete series batch later on. Particularly -- and this has been pointed out to me an embarrassing number of times -- what needs to be paid attention to are the levels written on the Analyzer. No need to hide it, when I'm rushed I fail to discern between Perfect <-> Ultimate. Blame my American dub breeding. orz
Your deadline is on December 19th, 23:00 EST. CLOSED
Edit: We still welcome experienced timers for this project, by the by. :o Not that there's a need to say this really, but the more timers there are, the faster the episodes get released.

| Legendz update |
[24 Nov 2007|10:26pm] |
|
So what's the big holdup? It's been an exceptionally busy semester for me in general. I was going to to get episode 23 done this week, but my computer decided to conk out AGAIN. (It seems to happen when I travel a lot with it.) Anyway, I have to reformat and crap, and I can't do that until I get back to school because all the installation discs are there. It's set me back not only on subbing Legendz but also on all the homework I need to do on the computer (and the ancient computer at home won't cut it.) Assuming I do get my computer back in working order in about a day, the last few weeks are really hectic will all the final presentations and reports. Luckily, school's almost over (2 weeks + finals), so I should be able to get it done soon-ish.
