First Fridays ArtWalk
Thanks to all who responded with suggestions for getting out of the house!

I would like to attend ArtWalk tomorrow night, and I was wondering if someone could tell me how it works? Do you just walk around and visit the various galleries? Good places to park? Any suggestions of the best galleries to visit? A little about what to expect???

Thanks!

Yes, you just walk around and tour the galleries up and down the street. Quirk is my favorite gallery. Have fun!

Exactly. I second Quirk, as well as ADA. As for advice on parking, I usually have luck finding something not-too-far away on Franklin St. Art Walk is fun. There is usually a fun amalgam of art styles between all of the galleries. I especially recommend ducking into some of the more hole-in-the-wall places. They usually have great stuff that often goes unnoticed.

Expect a group of whako religious fanatics literally standing on a soapbox and damning the masses. Surrouded by ardent VCU freshmen who still think it's possible to talk sense to religious-types.

Expect a few cool galleries, a few odd ones, and a few that are just flat-out self-indulgent.

Expect to go down the side streets, and not just Broad, too.

Absolutely visit ADA, it's always my favorite, plus the owner is awesome. Quirk has unique choices, including a gift shop. Gallery 5 (not on Broad, see the FF website for location) has new and different options (including music and fire spinners), but they're closed tomorrow. The galleries are along Broad St located from about 1st street to a few blocks East of Belvidere.
