Runways ~ a Project Runway-inspired RPG

Welcome to Runways!

Runways is an RPG based on Project Runway. An RPG for fans of the show, or merely fans of the fashion industry, and fashion in itself.

The RPG is run very much like the show, only minus the eliminations (that would be cruel). Every week or so, a challenge is given to the designers. These designers have as many as seven days, to as few as three days (time will be specified in the challenge post) to complete the challenge. The judges will then decide which outfit is the winner, and which is the loser. At such a time as the competition -- no time soon, I assure you,-- in order for a new "generation" of designers to come forward, the person who has the most "wins" will be the one who wins the competition.

What entails completing the challenge, you might ask? Players will draw a picture of the outfit (preferable on plain white paper), scan it and edit it as they wish, and on the day the challenge closes, they will post that picture for the world (and the judges) to see.

Where is the RPG part of this RPG, you might ask? Well, during that time, designers are under heavy stress, working to complete their outfits in the time given, as well as working to deal with one another. Models have to assist their designer, trying on outfits and making sure everything fits right. And the judges? They get to sit back and watch it all happen.

Rules

1. Don't be mean to the other players while out of character! If you have a problem with another player, bring it to me. Don't fight, okay?

2. A player may have up to two characters. Someone who plays a designer may play a model, but they may not play a judge. Judges may play a model as well, but never a designer. Someone who plays a model may have for a second character either a judge or a designer.

3. Designers are not to reveal the picture of their outfit to anyone but the model they are working with until the day the challenge is closed. They may describe it, or go into detail about how they are making it, but no pictures may be displayed until the day of revelation. Models follow the same rule: no pictures, but they may share details of the outfit via writing or speech. Players may also post small pictures of fabric types or colors they intend to use. ^^;

4. At midnight of the day that the challenge ends, if you do not have an outfit picture submitted, then obviously there is no way you can win the challenge. If this happens three times in a row, you're out of the game.

5. Any kind of inter-character relationship is allowed. As long as no one's murdering anyone else or assaulting them viciously with a sewing needle, that is. So tolerate.

6. Judges are to be non-biased, please. If a judge's player also controls a model, they should try their hardest not to be biased towards the designer their model character is working with. Also, judges will not base their decision on the quality of the artwork, but on the design it represents.

7. Anything that deserves a hard-R or above rating should be placed under an LJ cut.

8. Original characters ONLY. I don't want to see celebrities running around here. You make your character. C'mon. Let's see some imagination, here! That's what this is all about, right?

9. Where, on the application form, it says, "Last Words?", say, "I know I'm gonna win this."
