Hey fellow Australian Manics fans.

With 'Send Away the Tigers' only a week or so away from its release. I've been emailing Triple J for the past few weeks trying to get them to play "Your Love Alone is Not Enough" and so far I haven't had much luck. But I was thinking if everybody is to also send in a request and get your friends to do the same it would help the Manics get some airplay here.

We will be conducting shoots for No Manifesto, our Manic Street Preachers documentary, during the band's upcoming tour. We are still looking for questions to ask the band during a series of special fan-question-based interviews that are planned for shooting at the beginning of May. We encourage you to e-mail to WibblyWobblyProductions@yahoo.com any questions that you would like to ask band members individually, as well as ones that you would like to ask the band as a whole.

Feel free to be as concise or as wordy as you like, and ask as many questions as you want. We are looking for the widest possible variety of kinds of questions, from the serious to the frivolous. Anything from favourite songs to musical techniques to philosophical views to aesthetic tastes to stupid stories to recipes for compost to jokes to whatever you can think of. The creativity of the Manics's audience will be a crucial part of this interview, so do your worst! :)

Again, please e-mail questions to WibblyWobblyProductions@yahoo.com.  We look forward to hearing from you!

We are preparing for upcoming shoots with the Manics for No Manifesto, our Manic Street Preachers documentary currently in production. These shoots will take place during the time that the band is promoting and touring in connection with their upcoming album.

One of the things we will be doing during this time is conducting fan-question-based interviews with each band member. If you would like to contribute, please e-mail your questions to WibblyWobblyProductions@yahoo.com.

Thank you!

This community is slowly dying Nooooooooo!!! but I need your help.

The other day I was talking to someone about music and we somehow got talking about the Manics. I started talking about the MSP4AUS07 petition and they were really interested. I mentioned how I'm still not 100% if I'll actually go ahead with it because in the last few months I've lost motivation for it. They said that in 1992 The Cure toured Australia based on a petition but couldn't remember how many signatures it got.

I just looked it up on google, found this and they got 38,000 signatures!!! I know there's Manics fans in Aus but I don't think it'd be possible to get that many but it does give me a number to work towards.

But at least I know now that it could work. This has inspired me get started again so I'm asking, pleading, begging, whatever... does anyone think that it will be possible to get enough signatures for this to work? I know there's hardly any chance of getting that many but I think it could still get a lot with the right exposure. And would anyone be interesting in helping me because there's no way I can do this on my own.

So would I be wasting my time in trying or should just I say, stuff it, and try anyway? =).

I was going to post this earlier but... I didn't. I'm just going to get to the point now =).

If anyone is interested, on rage tonight there are two Manics videos, Tolerate is on between 2:30am and 3am and Love's Sweet Exile is on between 3:30am and 4am. The full playlist is http://www.abc.net.au/rage/playlist/archive/2006/20060225.htm =).

I know it's a rather slightly pointless piece of information but I felt compelled to post something here to prevent this community from completely dying =P =D.

I want to facilitate discussion! This community is such the perfect size to function like a *real* "community" if we talk more often and get to know each other :)

I'll start with this:

What caused you to get into the Manics and what have you subsequently gotten into because of the Manics?

For me... )

Hello! I have spare Manics items!

I've got a copy of the Japanese Stay Beautiful EP. 6 tracks in all (Motown Junk, You Love Us Heavenly Version, Stay Beautiful, Sorrow 16, Starlover, and RP McMurphy). No obi. Back of booklet a bit rough, but nothing big. I bought it in the first place, right?

Follow the links to the pics:

I've also got a copy of the Motorcycle Emptiness cd (got it by mistake: ordered what was supposed to be the German release from 2002. Got this instead.) up for grabs. UK cd. Regular wear for a digipak that's 13 years old. Only big problem is with the cd tray portion of the digipak. Look at the pictures and you'll see what I mean. I got it like this. I'm just trying to recuperate some of the loss on this one (I already have a sealed UK copy, a sealed Japanese copy, and the 1997 reissue, so I dont' need this one to hang around so I can listen to it).

Again, links will give you the pics:

Also, if anyone's interested:
A Design For Life UK disc 2.
Australia UK disc 1.
Found That Soul 2 track US Promo.

Give the cardboard pieces in those last three pics a round of applause for being so cooperative with those pictures.

E-mail me with any offers! Heywoodhead@yahoo.com

Kisses, everyone!

I was just skimming this community and noticing extensive complaints about not being able to find Manics CDs/DVDs/books/whatnot in Australia. (It seems weird, I've had no probs getting heaps of stuff down under over the years, but I guess that was more 'then' than 'now'...)

Anyway, I'm in London-town on holiday at the moment and thought I'd offer to keep an eye out for and/or buy any harder-to-find stuff that people might want.

If there're things you're particularly chasing, leave a comment and say what they are and the maximum you'll pay for them (the UK isn't always cheap, but I'm not a bad bargain-hunter) and I'll see if I can help you out.

(Oh, but don't say posters or 12" records, please...bit hard to carry back on the plane!)

xxox.

Edit: Had a bit of a looksee today and can get every CD album for under £6 (approx. $15) each, FYI.

"I think festivals like the Big Day Out are just Reading, Glastonbury and such, just on a much smaller scale and, you know, without the mud."

Thank you again to [info]freakbymistake for sending me this =D.

I've only just gotten around to scanning it, it's an interview with Sean from when the Manics were here in 1999.

I scanned the two pages but because it's a bit hard to read the interview from the pictures, I typed it up to make it easier =D.

For some reason I can't quite figure out, a CD shop here in Perth is selling copies of the UK import digipack version of 'Lipstick Traces' for just $10!

If you want one, let me know and I'll pop down there and pick some up if they still have them :) (I'll just charge you the $10 plus shipping.)

Hi there.

I'm a relatively new Manics fan -- bought The Holy Bible a few months back. It's quickly become one of my favourite albums ever. I've recently done my Manics homework; reading loads of interviews with the guys, all of which have been fascinating. I've never met a Manics fan in real life; no one's even namedropped them. So I'm glad I've found you all. I'm from Sydney by the way.

So, I have finally got a basic website up for the petition =D. It's nothing special but it has the information on it and hopefully I didn't ramble too much =). I did make it around 3am so if you spot anything that should be fixed, let me know and I'll fix it =D.

I left a copy of the petition at Heartland Records a few weeks ago and I have been back yet to check on it but I will go next week and let you know if anyone actually signed it =).

So, again I'm asking, if you'd like to help or if you have any ideas, please comment because I'm starting to get really serious with this and I need the help =D.

http://rapidshare.de/files/4027974/firstpage.doc.html <--- The main sheet of the signing sheet, it just has a [very] brief description of what this all about with the signing boxes underneath.

http://rapidshare.de/files/4027978/extrapage.doc.html <--- Just a page full of signing room in case you run out of room on the main sheet =).

It's simple enough, all you need to put is your name and location =). I just ask you to not fill out the first column where it says 'No.' because when I have received all the sheets I'll number all the signatures =D.

Also, because I have put a border around it to make it look preeeeetty =D, you may need to adjust it to fit with your printer =).

I haven't worked out a date when I'm going to send it off but when I do, just send me an e-mail at bluevioletglittercrayon[at]gmail[dot]com and I'll give you the address to send it to =D.

Alright, that's all I can do for now, the rest of it is up to you =D. Don't forget, get anyone and everyone to sign who would be willing to see the Manics if they toured here and the more we get, the more chance we have of it working well, that's what I think anyway =D.

*is really nervous* Okay. I've meaning to do this for a week now and I know if I don't do this now, I never will =).

Basically, a couple of months ago I got the idea to make a petition for the Manics to tour here in 2007. I lingered with the idea for a little while and then it sort of went to the back of my mind and I forgot about it. But last week I was thinking about it and I think I'd like to at least try it =).

I haven't thought out all the details yet, but what I have to far is that I'd type up a signing sheet and put a download link here. All you would have to do it print it off and get everyone you know who likes the Manics and would go see them if they did tour here. And then by a certain date [which I have yet to work out], you would just have to put them all in a envelope and send it back to me. I would then put it all together with a letter and send it to them.

I'm not deluding myself by actually thinking that this will work but I do have that slight glimmer of hope that it could work. A very slight glimmer of hope but still, there's hope =).

And I figured the best place to start would be putting my idea here and see if anyone actually likes the idea or whether you think I'm utterly insane =). Even if just someone says they willl help, I'll go ahead with it. But if no-one wants to help, I won't go ahead with it because this would be impossible to do by myself.

I'm fully aware of the fact that there's a chance we won't get many signatures but I'm willing to send it no matter how many we get, whether it's five, fifty or five hundred =D.

And even if you don't have a lot of time to do anything, all you need to do is take the signing sheet with you wherever you go because you never know when you might meet someone who'd want to sign it =). And it'll just cost you 50c to send it back to me, It's really not that effort involved on your part and besides, it's all for a good cause =D.

Okay. I think I've said everything. So, if you think this is a good idea or a bad idea, you want to help etc., please comment and let me know =D.

I really hope all this makes sense, I tend to not make sense when I try to explain something =).

And if you really think about it, what do we have to lose by at least trying? =D.
