Welcome to Runescape Lounge

Just a few things for new members to check out:

There are a few helpful links on the user info page. Don't forget to read the rules!

Our memories section contains tons of information. So if you are looking for some quest information or a guide for a mini-game, the memories section is the place to look.

High Scores link provides a detailed stat listing (provided by runehead.com) of all our active members (so if you wish to be added contact a mod or post here).

I strongly suggest that every member of RSL comment on the introduction post so it will make it easier to find rs names.

this place seems a bit lonely

anyways 85 prayer! )

I keep on dropping of the face of the Internet. Not conducive for leveling, I suppose. Well the price manipulations that are going on aren't helping either, darn merch clans.

Lawl moment

At my work yesterday these two guys (customers) were flirting with me on my lunch break. usually I don't like being bothered on my lunch break but I had to laugh when one of their pick up lines was "what is your combat level in Runescape?"

investing while on a break from runescape

  • May. 28th, 2009 at 9:13 PM
I won't have internet in my apartment for the months of june-augest, and just had a general question that people other then myself may have had for similar situations.

I was wondering what I should do with my cash, which is roughly 6.5 million gp. Should I just dump it into my Miscellania? Or is should I check out the grand exchange data base for a good item to invest in and hold onto for three months?

I just thought I'ld ask you guys, since everyone has times where they can't play runescape for a while, and I personally would like my account to get something accomplished while I am living in the dark ages, which may be a theme that others can appreciate too.

90 fishing and mudkips

  • May. 20th, 2009 at 11:10 AM
I got 90 fishing last night!

lvl 90 fishing )

Also, there is a naming contest for a new slayer monster that Jagex is going to be releasing, this guy:

Poor Mod Emilee is already dealing with the inevitable flood of MUDKIP suggestions XD

Of course, the name can't be mudkip or any other pokemon names due to copyright law.
If you want to suggest a name before the official poll goes up, make a post at qfc: 79-80-957-58851629

RuneScape Update - Missing My Mummy

  • May. 19th, 2009 at 4:16 PM
There are many secrets hidden in the depths of the desert. Forgotten tombs of forgotten rulers from a forgotten time, when the world was a very different place...or at least they were forgotten. The spread of human civilisation, however, means that many of the hidden corners of the world are being uncovered, often by treasure-hunters with little regard for preserving the sanctity of these ancient places.

Offence System Updated

The News: Offence System Updated )
------

A lot of that makes sense, especially dropping most offences after 12 months and preventing people posting on the RS forums when they're muted in-game (and vice-versa) - no more whining on the forums about mutes or bans! This update should also mean anyone who's been a victim of over-zealous reporting in the past will have their black marks removed :-).

jaunty bad

  • May. 11th, 2009 at 8:26 PM
I don't know if this applies to anyone here, but Ubuntu is the most popular of the Linux distributions, and it appears that nobody who upgrades to Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty) can use Runescape's High Detail mode at all. On an otherwise identical system that worked well on 8.10 (Intrepid), Jaunty fails.

http://forum.runescape.com/forums.ws?25,26,496,58594335
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mesa/+bug/355742

It would be a good idea not to upgrade. There is little reason to stay current with every release of Ubuntu's 6 month cycle anyway. I did it for openoffice 3, but might as well have found a backport for that and kept my HD working.
I've played since 2007 off and on, busy recently since working two jobs.
Basically, as much as I love Runescape, I'm getting bored with it, but I know also that there's all kinds of fun stuff I'm missing out on. I just don't know where to begin.
My stats are as follows:

Gardenia Fae

Combat Level: 52

Free Player Account

Attack: 42

Hit Points: 42

Mining: 13

Strength: 42

Agility: 6

Smithing: 3

Defense: 42

Herblore: 4

Fishing: 37

Ranged: 1

Thieving: 15

Cooking: 49

Prayer: 30

Crafting: 13
Firemaking: 33

Magic: 12

Fletching: 1

Woodcutting: 23

Runecrafting: 1

Slayer: 1

Farming: 1

Construction: 1

Hunter: 1

Summoning: 1

Any tips or suggestions?

i've joined this comm in the past with my character Gardenia Fae. My combat level is 52. For the most part during my free time I work on my fishing, cooking, woodchopping skills, as well as attack, defense, etc.
I haven't really gotten into any of the more comlicated things like runecrafting, etc. but would like to. ATM I do not have a paid account unfortunately.
Anyway, looking for friends who want to hang out on Runescape, battle together, train, etc.

Clan PnW on Face Book....

  • Apr. 22nd, 2009 at 10:07 PM
Hey everyone,

We are still trying to expand our little group, so I recently created a Facebook Group for anyone interested in joining our clan. I am hoping that this helps a bit with offline communication for all of us. I think that way we can also organize more events and what not. Please check us out at:

http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=87167624712

Join and promote as well. Thanks!

Basic requirements: Lvl 1000 in all skills and an ELITE pker! Ok, just joking! In all honesty, good-spirited, fun-loving, generally kind. That's it.

We are a fun-loving, caring, group. We don't judge and don't mind about combat lvls. We just like to have fun. So whether you're lvl 30 or lvl 130, it's all the same. Just join up and have some fun. We are here to enjoy a good time.

Tale of the Muspah

  • Apr. 21st, 2009 at 5:30 PM
Experienced adventurers will be familiar with Fremennik rites of passage, and the difficulties they present. It’s little wonder, then, that Fremennik children are always on the lookout for an easier path to adulthood, and Erjolf is no exception. Full of enthusiasm but short on skills, Erjolf will need your assistance if he is going to impress his kinsfolk.

Join him in his quest for a trophy, unravel the puzzling story behind a curious corpse, and discover the dark secrets of one of the most fearsome races to ever walk in Gielinor. You may find one or two useful allies along the way, who are willing to lend a helping hand.

It’s been great to work on a quest that involves one of RuneScape’s most mysterious races, and develop a plotline that’s been around since the early days of RuneScape. This is the first part of a new quest series, and paves the way for following quests.

PnW Recruitment Time...

  • Apr. 19th, 2009 at 2:10 PM
Greetings all....

As you know, I am "Lil Mage" and also in charge of the event clan "PNW."

Recently, the clan has engaged mainly in Clan Wars and we are looking for a few new recruits to join up with us as we head to battle on Sunday. We usually engage in combat every other Sunday (but there are moments when we engage on an off Sunday). We also do some dangerous events like Chaos Element, God Wars, and more.

Our event time is as follows:

Clan War time

Hawaii: 8AM
Pacific: 11AM
Mountain: 12PM
Central: 1PM
EAstern: 2PM
Atlantic: 3PM

GMT: 7PM

Regardless of Daylight Savings time, the time stays constant (expect Hawaii, which does not follow Daylight Savings Time). With Summer coming up, we would be honored if you could join us. There are no requirements, you just need to have a positive attitude and be will to follow directions and work as a team. If you are interested, post here you RSN and then join our clan at the following:

http://community.livejournal.com/clan_p_n_w/

I would greatly appreciate it if you post here so I know who you are and then I can add you on the clan community site. Our main goal is to increase our membership so we can challenge larger clans and continue to remain victorious in Clan Wars, as well as build a stronger community within the game.

Look forward to gaming with you.

Lil Mage.

Rune Scape For Years to Come...

  • Apr. 14th, 2009 at 5:33 AM
I have often wondered exactly how long will I keep playing Rune Scape. To this day, I do not have any desire to stop playing, as it has been the one and only game that help me maintain sanity through some really tough times in life. While I was thinking about "exactly when should I hang up my cape, drop my crossbow, and let my membership run out, last night I met an extraordinary person. I actually met a senior citizen in Rune Scape.

I was gathering potato cacti for my herblore and long and behold another player showed up. As usual, I thought it would be a battle for the kalphites (as kalphites are my Slayer assignment). That's when I discovered (through conversation) that he/she was a senior citizen (retired). I was amazed. It was like a ray of hope stating, "it doesn't matter how old you become, you can still enjoy playing Rune Scape."

To this day, I don't think I will ever stop playing Rune Scape and now it's just comforting to know that there are many other players out there who do feel the same as I do about the MMORPG. My game time has dropped due to the fact I have become much more financially stable and have found other outside interests, but I still enjoy logging in and gathering a few XP in any skill when I can, even if it's for 15-30 minutes.

I just thought I'd share this for anyone who may have thought the same about Rune Scape as I have.

I pulled some strings and got every skill to 85.

Except fletching which I tend to spite for unknown reasons. I have it buried beneath everything else by four levels, which means I've come a rather long way from here:

1m fletching xp )

Also I'd like to out Lubufu the karambwan fisherman as a retired autoer.

He's probably 99 fishing by now.

Easter 2009

  • Apr. 8th, 2009 at 10:07 AM

The Easter Bunny seems to have been around forever. Or has he? What makes him seem immortal? This Easter, calamity has once again befallen his factory, and he needs your help to solve the problem. As well as giving you the chance to fix some impressive machinery, and deal with some colourful (but less than helpful) characters, Splitting Heirs will also give our free players a taste of what it’s like to catch implings.

This event revisits the past, so if you’ve played previous Easter events you’ll recognise the incubator from 2008 and the Easter Bird from 2006. Find out what makes the Easter Bunny tick, and you could also earn yourself a new fun weapon. So what are you waiting for? Go seek out the Easter Bunny!
