В преддверии отборочного матча Евро-2008 Россия — Англия своим мнением относительно игры поделился бизнесмен Андрей Луговой, которого Великобритания обвиняет в причастности к смерти экс-сотрудника ФСБ Александра Литвиненко. Предприниматель, на выдаче которого настаивают британские власти, пожелал сборной России красивой игры и победы.

"К сожалению, я не смогу побывать на стадионе в Лужниках, однако за этим футбольным поединком вместе с друзьями и близкими буду наблюдать из дома по телевизору", — сказал Луговой РИА "Новости".

При этом он призвал не проводить параллелей между футбольным матчем и политикой. "Нельзя смешивать спорт и политику — это разные вещи. Я надеюсь, что команды покажут красивую и честную игру. У российской сборной огромный потенциал, и, если нашим ребятам удастся его полностью реализовать, — победа будет за Россией", — добавил Луговой.
