OK, I loved this. I loved (and hated, well, you know the feeling) that not only remus, but *both* of them were too coward to take the chances (and btw-- remus is very IC in that sense, imo, fear of rejection and such), i loved they're trying to fit years worth of loving into one night. Remus pulls Sirius on top of himself, relishing in the body weight on his chest. His legs spread, welcoming Sirius home. They owe each other a lifetime and it begins here, tonight. and i loved the cold tone of the last section (specially the last line), it yanks you right out of the blissfulness and i just love it.

and just because it's funny: i actually yawned myself when i got to "Should probably turn in then," Sirius says, his words punctuated by a jaw-breaking yawn XD and... i'm yawning again as i re-read it. wtf?

I almost started crying at the prologue. I knew it wasn't AU and so any sort of ending here is a sad ending. Then with each scene I was so sad for Remus until the wedding. I know R/S games and all but Remus/Gideon/Fabian FTW!!!!! If Sirius is going to be off with some woman Remus at the least deserves that! It was all short lived because of course Sirius watching them go *meep*. I didn't even get the denouement and I was crying. Lovely work, very heart breaking.

This was heartbreaking and so beautiful.
So many people just watch the chances just slip away... but all your parts were amazing; fluid and believable.
And yummy, yummy Gideon/Fabian/Remus... hehe.

I will admit to tears in the last two parts. Your denouement was earth shattering, you took us from love regained to love forever gone in ten seconds and I wanted to love you and murder you at the same time.

Well done. Really, brilliantly written.

You already won me over with this very special Prologue. When I read it, I already knew this was going to be a great story! ♥

Oh.

This broke my heart into pieces. I keep telling myself that at least they had that year, and that it was better than nothing.

Excellent work!

You know, I was just thinking today that there hadn't been too many angsty pieces yet in the Games (at least that I'd seen), and then here's one with some really delicious angst. Enjoyed this! (And I liked the hint of Dumbledore as matchmaker. :-D)

Not sure why I didn't comment earlier, but I really like this - there's an understated sense of tragedy & the narrator's voice at the start and end frames it nicely. The nearly-romantic moment when drunk was so sad & very believable; people can be such idiots. Very well done.

This is really lovely. I enjoyed how both were too cowardly to do anything about their feelings and glad they finally got that last year. I'd be interested to see Sirius' side of this story.

OMG, this is gorgeous! Like the others, I could tell right from the start that this story would have it all. Aching events, perfect characterizations and exquisite writing. And unfortunately, no happy ending. That's the only thing that kept this from a perfect score for me. There is no fluff her. This story is both better and bigger than fluff.

When I read these lines,
It is a story about two men and the attraction they shared for one another -- a lust that was present for so many years but for so long was denied to either of them. It is a relationship that, given the chance to start would have blazed across the heavens, hot and passionate, but was never given the opportunity to blossom.
I immediately thought, that is what is wrong with the HP canon! To deny that these two belong together is almost criminal. But then, HP is a "children's book series" and fanfiction can be written for and loved by adults.

I'm fucking crying now because this is so true and so real, and it's hurting so much to acknowledge that. The writing style is simply gorgeous, the building-up of the story, the tension, the fear, and overall, REMUS, his insecurities, his fear of rejection keeping him from acting, so, so beautiful. It hurts to realise this is true, that this is life, that you are a chessman on the playboard and have to handle what comes. But if even for only that moment, everything that had happened in the past was more than worth it.

I would have so loved a happy ending, but the ending is what it is and it's still more perfect in its reality. God, please, if it comes out who wrote this, I want to put this on my rec list. I need to reread it now. This is the first story that ever made me really ache. Thank you for sharing this.
