Beta sign-ups!
Okay, some amongst you have freakishly amazingly managed to already write your stories and are looking for betas. Others are still in the planning stages and that is cool. Either way it helps to have a sounding board and beta. This community is a great place to preview a fic and get advice (many of you are already doing this), but it beneficial to have an individual person to help you, too.
Betas are more than necessary: they are all but required. For most of us, the more we look at a fic, the less we tend to see. (At least one mod has stared at her ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) bigbangblackout fic until her eyes bled.) Beta-ing it is about more than miss-spellings and bad grammars. (Althow that is important, two.) We all make mistakes – even Rowling. (The Priori Incantatem scene in Goblet of Fire, anyone?) It’s usually little things: during a sex scene Sirius somehow manages to have his hands on Remus’ arse, belly, face, hair, and ring-toe simultaneously or Remus’ eyes are described as gold in one scene and blue-green plaid in another. Betas can Brit-pick, give opinions on characterizations/plot points, correct spelling/punctuation/grammar issues, and even help you with syntax, sentence structure, and unemotional repetitions or repeats of mis-used words.
In other words: all fics need to be beta'd. Art may be beta'd as well, but that is not required! Granted, your beta does not necessarily need to be a team member, but that is a great place to start. So without further ado, if you are willing to beta, please go to your team community and sign-up at the beta post. That post will serve as the place to find betas and to offer your services.

Greetings to all! By now, you should have received your team community invitations. In fact, some of you have already accepted. Your team community is a place to gather and have fun. It is where you can put forth ideas, get beta help, offer and receive advice, cheer each other on, and more. If feel you were not notified, please check your outstanding invitations and then let us know.
Also, we will need a way to contact you. If you would like to send an email to rs_games1@yahoo.com we will have it on file. Or, if you prefer a PM, please be sure that your settings allow for that. There are few people whom we were unable to contact via PM. Please note, you should only have been contacted if you were selected as a Pinch Hitter or if there was something amiss when we sent your invitation.
Now, on to reveals. We had such overwhelming response that we had to (sort-of) do the lottery. We made every attempt possible to give people their first team choice and a random number generator was used to prevent unfairness. Also, six people were thus selected to serve as pinch hitters. (This is for fics only. Art pinch hitters are volunteers from within the fic community.) Pinch Hitters are full team members who have full community access and can participate in all team discussions. We also highly advise that they choose prompt and create something anyway. These works can be displayed as exhibition whilst we tally votes:

Each time it looks fine from certain views (like the editing window), but now from others (like from the F-List page.). I am now over an hour late for work. Please note that the art isn't up yet, only the fiction. The art requires more to get it all showing, so it's taking a little longer.

Hello, all!
As some of you may have noticed, the site on which we posted all the fics and art from the games seems to have gone down. We are currently in the process of fixing this but, in the meantime, if you want to access anything, please do not forget this fantastic repository created by the wonderful kasche .
The original site belongs to an original member of the games who dropped out but very generously allowed us to continue to use it. We are willing to buy ithe site from her, if necessary, but she cannot be reached. So, in the meantime, we are in the process of creating another site and that should be up and running sometime late next week.

The votes have been tallied and the results are in! Our apologies that this comes a day late but better late than never, right? As last time, we have the statistics for round two!
Team MWPP clocked in with a word count total of 129,212 in their 20 fics! [if you're one of those crazy people who loves numbers, that's an average of 5168.48 words] Team Post Hogwarts ended up with a total of 143,717 words in their 20 fics! [or an average of 5748.68 words per fic] . That gives us a grand total of 272,929 words for round two!! Go teams! ♥
Between the two rounds [last round being 342,993 words in all] -- our participants have given us 615,922 words of new fics. And if you've happened to missed a work, please go back through and find the ones you may have missed.
Secondly, we'd like to give a huge round of applause for our top commenters this round: werewolfsfan, secretsolitaire, xbittersweet89x, sec38, elessae, kasche, and spacefragments . Thanks, guys, for your support -- we definitely couldn't have done it without you. And in thanks this time around, we even have a small gift for you. You'll find it after the banners for our participants. And, of course, our heart-felt thanks goes out to everyone who commented and voted! ♥
And now... for what you've all been waiting for. (Drumroll Please!) We said it last time, but it still rings true this time around as well. It's you guys, the readers and watchers, who are the real winners in the competition. Our participants worked tirelessly to create worlds and stories and works of art for our entertainment and for that we thank them. However, there can be only one winner. And so, without further ado:

| 11:50 am - Small Announcement Before the Reveals
Hey all--
Apologies these didn't go up yesterday. I, the posting [and coding] mod had a rather large crisis where I work involving several cars being broken into last night. Needless to say it's all been taken care of, and with a happy ending as well -- but I was away from my computer all day yesterday as a result.
And one other thing before the awards go up. As this is now the close of this round, I did want to make one other small announcement, if you will. About half-way through the first round of the games, the other mods of rs_games came to me and asked if I would be willing to step in and assist with some of the duties in modding the community. I didn't want to withdraw from the games and leave my team in the lurch -- but I wanted to help out and get the games back to running on a smooth and even keel. The team-captains of the team_mwpp were aware of my involvement in the moderator position and they were fine with my stepping in to post and code all the fics.
So yes, your posting mod has been I, thescarletwoman [as well as coding all the fics for the website as well]. And when the next round is run -- I'll be here in moderator capacity only. I've had a blast helping these ladies out, and I'm glad I could pitch in to get the games to run smoothly.
And now, without further ado... the master list of works -- and most importantly... the unveiling of the winners of round two!
