A fond farewell
Okay, so anyone still coming here probably already knows that Ian has offically announced that RPGWorld will never be updated by himself again, but he is letting others continue his work.  So I got a two fold request here.

1) if you do pick it up, please don't do what the person below is suggesting (no offense, just my humble request).  Please stay true to what Ian was planning and the tone and pace he has developed for these characters.  Despite his own personal beliefs, RPGWorld has done an amazing job of developing the characters and weaving an intricate and fascinating plot.  Please don't revert it back to the beginning.

2) I thought it would be really cool if we gave Ian a fond send off (if he ever checks this place anymore) by posting all the webcomics that RPGWorld references can be found in with a little picture of the reference.  I don't know if that's possible or not with LJ so if you can't just give the url with a description of where the reference can be found.

For example: Order of the Sick #213 first panel, lower left hand side. "Sigh... Times are tough"

or, my preference just an image of the reference panel.

(make sure to read this from the beginning at http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0001.html)

RPGWorld made a huge impact on the webcomic community for it's humor, it's plot, and it's originality.

If you continue the work, please, make certain it stays that way for all of us fans!

First off, I'm working on a script for the rest of Disc 3. We're NOT going back to the beginning. That was thought up at 11:45 at night. :)

Secondly, that's a great idea. I'll try to find one.

Thirdly, if Ian reads this: Return my e-mails.

Once upon a time, there was a show called Mystery Science Theater 3000. That show became popular enough to warrant the writers of that show to put together an episode guide for seasons 1 through 6. After a hiatus, MST3K was aired on the Sci-Fi channel. While there, the writers put together episode guides for seasons 8 through 10. For those not bothering to keep track, the only season without an episode guide was season 7.

Fans asked, "Wither season seven?" They wanted an episode guide. When would the writers finally get around to writing an episode guide for season 7? The writers responded, "When somebody pays us."

Eventually, somebody paid them and the episode guide was written.

I wonder if it's at all possible to pay Ian to finish the comic. He likes money, doesn't he? With the appropriate contributions, he might just find it worth his while to finish the strip.

Just saying, is all.

There's a big difference between an episode guide and a web comic. The former requires only that you say what happens in each episode, while the latter requires you to create what happens in later episodes. No matter how much money you throw at a situation, you can't buy imagination. Proof in point: look at the movies Hollywood is churning out. Lots of money, lots of bad movies.

Well, here's the thing, too: Ian already knew what he wanted to do with the comic. He had the story pretty much worked out, it was more a matter of having the time to do the artwork and scripting. If I remember, his reasons for abandoning the comic were burnout and the fact that he needed to devote time to school and work. One of those things involves him making money.

He's been away long enough to where he kind of regrets leaving the project where he did (he's said so, I just don't remember if it was a blog post or on the comic page). With the right financial incentive, he might decide to knock out a relative few more strips.

Again, I'm just saying is all.

I know I'd be willing to chip in if that was what would get Ian to finish the story, even if it was just like the ending of stubble, at least it would be his ending from him!

(Don't forget to post RPG world references)

And let us not forget the crossovers RPGWorld was a part of:

Adventures, Stubble (more or less ;), I think there were a couple others.

This one comes from Mac Hall, the last frame shows two characters at a Halloween party dressed as Hero and Cherry.

I used to know a lot more RPG World cameos but I've lost most of the webcomics that I used to read way back then (about 5 years ago now).
