RPG World
Hello,

I recently checked on RPG World, because I remembered it being an entertaining read. I was happy to see some new stuff since I last checked (some time in 2006). Well, in reading the newer posts and what was written, I was a little saddened to read this line:

"I never thought I'd be writing Shakespeare or anything but looking back at the comic archives became embarrassing."

I just want to encourage Ian that, while it wasn't Shakespeare, RPG World is and always will be a landmark of online comics. I recall saying, "*sigh* Times are tough." to a friend over the internet I hadn't seen since eighth grade, and my friend started laughing hysterically. It is entertaining, something many comics still fail to do! It was fun and made you want to keep reading it.

That's really all I wanted to say. This is meant only as encouragement, not complaining about RPG World not having been updated.

I hope all your works go well, Ian!

Surprisingly topical: while playing Lost Odyssey today, one of the NPCs said "times are tough", and I immediately started laughing.

Not to say that was RPG World's greatest moment, but it is perhaps the longest lasting.

RPG World is and always will be a landmark of online comics

Online comics are doomed.

Given the way 90% of their creators flake out and start hating both their fans and their creations, I'm going to have to agree with you there.

<3 RPGWorld. It got me through high school. At least, the stupid parts of it. Like math class...

Considering that it took so many oft-used stereotypes in video games and made them fun again!

RPG world was what got me into webcomics really and i was sad to see it stop since I really did enjoy reading it.
I can kinda empathize with Ian being embarrassed by his old work, a lot of artists are, but the abrupt stop, without any resolution to the story, was disappointing.
Here's to a great webcomic!

You know the whole "eikre is galgarion" idea?

well, think about zack from final fantasy 7. what if, by some chance, eikre is some kind of zack/cloud person, with genetics spliced from galgarion himself?

sounds complicated, but if you played ff7, you know what i'm talking about.

just a theory.

I remember saying that alot too :( I miss RPGworld alot. I do understand how he can find it embarrassing though. As an artist, you look back and you know that you're a whole lot better now than you were before. But that's no reason to ignore the comic genius! And to tell ya the truth his art wasn't as bad as he probably thought. It was very loose, satirical and cartoony and I loved to see it progress through the years.

I still want to cosplay as Cherry so bad but I'm afraid no one will recognize me D:

No-one will, outside of this livejournal community. You could always host some sort of memorial convention though?
