CLUE: The Game is an online RPG in the spirit of the boardgame, Clue, and who-dunnit style dinner parties. Every round is different, with a new murdered host in a new scenario. A college senior mysteriously dies during Spring Break in St. Bart's, a Nintendo CEO is killed hosting a weekend retreat at his Napa Valley home, residents of a colonial town in 1776 are made to stay within a mile of their homes after a British general has been murdered; the options are endless, the result is never the same.

Players can choose their perspective: they may know only what their character knows and keep the suspense going, or may read along with the whole game to watch everything unfold. The mystery will remain a mystery exactly as long as you want it to, with clues, conversations, and confrontations building up until your Inspector has solved the crime. CLUE is a fast-paced game with lots of interaction, intrigue, and character development; thusly we do not recommend it for players who are looking for a beginner game.

Specific Requirements: Some form of IM service is encouraged for means of contact, though not used to play.
Game Description: Clue is a mystery RPG for characters and players alike. Your Host (moderator) has just been murdered, and their home sets the scene for our story. Guests and servants are sequestered on the estate of the deceased while Inspectors lead the investigation to find out who the killer is.

Only your Host knows who has killed them, only your Host knows everything about your characters. As the game unfolds, players are asked to reveal certain bits of information about their characters, about other guests, about the murder itself, that they may have been concealing. The game is fast paced and will be played until the mystery is solved; the weapon, the motive, and the killer exposed...

So if you fancy yourself a sleuth, if you're interested in a completely different sort of RPG, have a taste for adventure and intrigue, or simply really love this classic game, RSVP today!

Game Description: dirty_life is an original RPG. That's really the long and short of it. The game puts emphasis on character building and plot. We have a dash of original fantasy to keep things interesting, and our characters hail from many, many places around the world, usually conglomerating in or around London, but not always (and certainly not because they absolutely have to). Basically, this is a world. We're playing with reality as it could be, as it seems now, as it is (our fantasy is tailored to suit this). Fill it up as you wish.

We have a sister game, Dirty History (thedirtyverse), that chronicles canon backstory. Here you'll find both characters from DL and characters never mentioned there, playing in every era up to the last three months.

Specific Requirements: Thanks to past experience, we find that AIM is useful when it comes to plots and getting to know your fellow cast mates, but it's not required. This game is not particularly strict when it comes to activity checks-- we want you to have fun, and posting will help you do that, but we're not going to crack the whip on you-- and very open minded. Specific Requirements: Writing ability is a must -- we don't require novelist-quality prose (though that's always a good thing!), but basic spelling and grammar skills are a must. Game Description: Welcome to the City. Maybe it once had a name, but it’s been lost to the ages, forgotten in the midst of an ongoing war. Our story begins in 1027 A.E. (after Earth) in a galaxy aptly named Omega Dawn. Nestled in a patch of quiet space, four planets calmly orbit twin suns. Orbiting around Omega Dawn’s twin suns lie four planets. In order of distance from the sun they are: New Aequitas, Doradus, Hanoid Prime, and Roh. The galaxy of Omega Dawn was named for the phenomenon that occurs on a particular day that marks the beginning of each planet’s calendar known as “The Final Dawn.” On this day, the suns rise at such a distance apart, that just as one dawn ends, the next begins, causing a majority of the day to be spent cast in gorgeous colors of a rising sun. The people of Omega Dawn have always celebrated this day as one of reverence, to give thanks for the beauty of the world around them.

The reasons surrounding why the inhabitants of New Aequitas arrived in the Omega Dawn galaxy is one of highest debate amongst the planets. It is unquestioned, however, the amount of power that New Aequitas has accrued in their time in the Omega Dawn galaxy. Over a thousand years have passed since the first sighting of humans (as they called themselves) within the limits of the Omega Dawn galaxy. Records of first encounters are non existent. It was almost as if they had always existed, and yet the difference between them and the other races within Omega Dawn is quite obvious. The very name of New Aequitas sparks the question, “Where was Old Aequitas?” Such questions are not asked, however, for fear of sparking unpleasant interest from the Monarchy.

Past the atmosphere of New Aequitas, more foreign lands reside. There is the natural beauty of Doradus, with rich, rolling hills filled with fruit bearing trees, flattened fields of crop as far as the eye can see, and a series of extensive mines for natural materials. The inhabitants of this planet find themselves working for a majority of their days, supplying most of the natural materials for the rest of the galaxy. Further out, Hanoid Prime sits with moderate technology and civilization. While most of its advances are out shadowed by New Aequitas, they are a proud people with a rich culture. Residents of Hanoid Prime and Doradus may whispers theories of a time before the Aequitans, stories passed from parents to children, old wives’ tales of a war that led to a crippling system of law and rule.

Far from all signs of civilization, another planet orbits through Omega Dawn. The planet of Roh is a dark place, run by no law and consisting of the most unwelcome faces. Roh originally stood for the “Rehabilitation of Heathens”. The planet before it was a prison had been chosen as a base of military operations for New Aequitas.Within years of settling in Omega Dawn, the humans had built up the planet filled with whole cities to use as their base of experimenting new weapons and training new troops. It wasn't shortly after the project was completed that the government felt it was an unnecessary expenditure of funds to transport troops halfway across the galaxy to train. The planet was scrapped and reformed into a dumping ground for prisoners and exiles. Despite the lack of funding technology, the planet began to grow both in size and population, but not due to the criminals who called it home first. Illegal exiles, immigrants, pirates, mob syndicates, and black markets dealers fled to Roh to escape the New Aequitas military, and soon found themselves the founders of a dark and wonderful place. Roh was the type of place you went when you wanted to disappear. Nobody questioned your residence on the planet, as long as you didn't question theirs.

Game Description:

KONPAKU

konpakuni is a panfandom, survival horror roleplay set in a university. Characters do not have to be of university attending age.

You wake up in a small room; it's furnished in a comfortable manner, although the general feel is that someone in their late teens or early twenties would stay there. In fact, it's strangely (if not irritatingly) reminiscent of a student's accommodation; there's a bed, a desk, a wardrobe and a bedside cabinet. On said cabinet is a set of two keys and a mobile phone but trying to dial out is, sadly, unsuccessful.

Leaving the room, you find yourself in what appears to be a hall of residence. You can enter none of the other rooms until you find what seems to be a communal kitchen and, a little past that, a communal bathroom.

UNIVERSITY

After finding little else of interest, you leave your floor and eventually, the residences. As expected, you do, in fact, appear to be on a university campus. It appears old and somewhat rustic but as of yet, you've found no students or members of staff.

Attempting to find an exit, much like attempting to phone out, is entirely unsuccessful and dusk soon approaches. As the notices in your halls advised, there is a curfew which begins at 9:30PM; but with no-one around to enforce it, what's the point?

Unfortunately, it isn't best of ideas to hang around campus at night, as you'll soon discover if you choose to ignore the curfew. Ghosts, strange creatures and what may or may not be illusions appear to be abound.

Game Description:In this game we offer a wide variety of possibilities. Harry Potter with an American twist.

Over 1,000 years ago, schools for witches and wizards were founded in European countries to instruct students in magic. Hundreds of years later, late to the party as usual, American witches and wizards started their own school, after the disaster that was the Salem Witch Trials. Since then, Salem Academy has flourished as well as its European cousin schools.

As times grew modern, American witches and wizards became immersed in Muggle culture. Now in the 21^st century, Salem Academy seems like any other high school. There's just one difference.

Where we have a lack of canonical or inconsistent information, we have attempted to fill in with the most plausible and reasonable presumptions based on the facts that we have available to us.

We invite anyone who is interested in playing in the world of JKR's invention to join us. Here we honor and adhere to canon rather than adapt her imagination to our own. This board is played in the years immediately following the re-opening of Hogwarts Castle after the Battle. Those who have died are honored with a memorial along side that of Albus Dumbledore's tomb. Those who lived have returned to their posts to carry on and bravely teach the message of tolerance, honor, and perseverance. Professor McGonagall now sits as Headmistress of Hogwarts, Horace Slughorn has returned to continue his post as Potions Master, the Defence Against the Dark Arts curse is now broken, and a new Professor for both it Transfiguration, and Muggle Studies now preside.

In the magical world, the Minister of Magic is Kingsley Shacklebolt, who has been very popular with the way he has handled things following the fall of the Dark Lord. All of the known Death Eaters have either been killed, prosecuted, or have disappeared for fear of their own lives. Any supporters of the Dark Lord are under close scrutiny or have been prosecuted, though some were able to avoid trouble with technicalities causing some animosity among the wizarding world.

While the Dark Lord has been defeated, suspicion, fear, and anger still remain. It has only been a few short years and with lives having been lost, people persecuted and tortured, there is still a long time before many can forgive let alone forget.

Game Description: Welcome to Rapture -- an undersea city built by business mogul [a]ndrew [r]yan, in the late nineteen forties. [r]yan felt the city was as a solution to what he saw as an increasingly oppressive political and religious authority. In the years of its creation, and population, the city became completely free of the surface world and its tyrannical power. Soon the city's population peaked, making it what [r]yan had intended, a paradise of freedom and wealth. It did
not last, however; and soon [r]yan felt the need to keep the city a secret. In doing so [r]yan created, and passed, a single law -- one that prohibited contact with the surface -- and it turned out to be one law too many.

In the months to follow, Rapture steadily began to collapse, the blissful paradise becoming no more than a nightmarish hell. In order to keep the worst from happening, Rapture's ultimate destruction, [r]yan gathered all those that had opposed him and sealed them off in the decaying part of the city. While the traitors were left to rot there for eternity, what was left of Rapture went under construction; a breath of life given to a dying dream.

Specific Requirements: Right now we are most importantly in need of players to play Clark, Kara and Chloe although other characters are certainly welcome. Other than that, it would help if players have AIM or MSN but so long as they are willing to communicate regularly at the OOC Community or over PM for plotting purposes and such, there shouldn't be a problem. Players are required to post AT LEAST once per week for each character they have.
Game Description: JLA Legacy is a "spinoff" RPG inspired by the universe that exists within the Smallville TV series, focussing mostly on the formation and adventures of the show's younger incarnation of the Justice League, instead of simply following the life of young Superman. The story begins directly after the Season 8 pilot episode "Odyssey", and each individual plot will be archived as a "virtual episode". Essentially, we will be re-writing the whole of Season 8 and replacing the episodes with original ideas which will all be based around the Justice League. In other words, we will be keeping the settings and previous history of the Smallville TV show alive, but introducing a new approach to the show by basing it around the Justice League. After 20-24 seperate official plots have been completed, we will have completed our own "virtual season".

RPers must be willing to first submit a writing sample and once that is approved, their character application. After complete approval they are welcome to RP.

Post frequency isn't much of an issue- but please try and keep up with a fast moving thread if you become involved in one, but beyond that when and how often you post is up to you. The RP runs at a 'mostly real time' speed, where each month in game is equivalent to the current month, but the current numbered date in game is up to you for the thread, and you're free to set it at the beginning, middle or end of the month for the current game month.

Much planning goes on over the RP's IRC channel- it can be accessed through any internet browser through two different websites, not requiring any downloading at all if you don't care to do so. However, there is no need to use the IRC channel if you do not want to.
