as the Tigerish girl practically burst in through the door, her brother hanging limply in her arms. Even as Ralma lay her brother down, Luanne was moving, heading for the cabinets her herbs were stored in, the sudden movement catching Ralma's attention for a moment, before Magnus' groan drew it right back.
'Corwyn, what do I need?' Luanne asked, knowing he'd be by the injured boy's side, even as she was thinking of treatment.
The hulking Tiger, slowed somewhat by his tightly bandaged torso, leant in close over Magnus in an almost predatory pose, watching closely as Ralma fed her brother a monumental dose of painkillers, and sniffed deeply. 'Haaah...', he exhaled, 'he has some nasty electrical burns, quite serious, possibly with nerve trauma and organ damage. Some Harfy would be a good shout, Lu.'
'Here.' A jar flew, expertly caught. Corwyn held the jar out to Ralma.
'Miss Ralma, this is a jar of powdered plant extract. In contact with blood or plasma it becomes a thick rubbery gel. It's good at sealing abrasions or burns, and so prevents major fluid loss. Dust it wherever you see fit...' He paused, looking at the decidedly higher-tech-than-he-was-used-to medkit, 'that is, unless you have better?'
'Still, what happened? Were you attacked?' He froze, and his voice grew cold and dangerous. 'Are my children in any danger?' As Ralma glanced up at him, she could see his eyes were alight. His blind left eyes was but a dull glow, but his right? His right was a blazing ember, as bright as that in any fire.
He turned away from Magnus, fixing her in his gaze. His eye was a glittering emerald spotlight, and it was focused on her, almost seeing through her as if she were the sheerest gossamer. Though the look on his face was purely that of a concerned parent, Ralma felt a shiver ripple down her spine.
'Corwyn, here's some Teful, and some Rudj. They should help with minor... Corwyn? Are you okay?' Luanne asked, moving in with some packets of herbs. As she spoke, the light in Corwyn's eyes abruptly vanished.
'I'm fine, Lu, don't worry. Now, like I said, Ralma, what happened?'
Leaping up the cliff face with Magnus in tow proved to be a pain in the ass, so in the end she ended up having to scale it with the assistance of the rope her brother had left there. At the top she briefly stopped to check that his pulse hadn't become any more erratic and somehow it hadn't. Ralma asked herself how it was that her brother thought it was a good idea to go wandering alone into a situation where he had ended up getting fried by a lightning bolt. If it wasn't for the fact there hadn't been any heavy rain that morning, leaving his conspicuous scent leading away from the house and into the woods she probably would not have found him. She had great confidence in their ability to heal quite a few serious wounds on their own, but somehow she got the feeling that if she hadn't been there to administer the healing stimulant and bandage him up he probably would not have lived through this.
At her speed, the several kilometer distance that Magnus had walked over the course of an hour that morning was quickly behind them in about ten minutes and soon they were crossing the field towards the cloistered little house that Corwyn's family called home. Not knowing that a few minutes previous Corwyn and Luanne had returned or also that Dylan had went somewhere in the interim while she was probably bandaging her brother up at the base of that waterfall. She came into the house with a conspicuous slowness trying to fit her brother in first, then herself and his backpack. She didn't even notice the pair until she had set Magnus down on a clear part of the floor and started to consider how much burn ointment she needed to apply, how much antibiotics he needed, and if she should also use a large dose of painkillers to prevent him from screaming when he woke up like he had done the first time.
At the creak of one of Corwyn or Luanne's footsteps, she turned her head quickly to regard the old tiger and his rabbit-like wife who were watching her.
"Uh..." She started clumsily, then heard her brother groan slightly, making her turn her attention back to her patient.
If he was going to wake up again she needed to give him a shot of painkillers fast, or else she'd have to risk knocking him out again illustrated by the curiously large shiner that was forming over the Dra'zinian's right eye. Drawing the first aid kit, she picked another sterile syringe, drew up a rather large quantity of painkillers from a jar in the kit and injected it into Magnus' arm where she had applied the healing stim before.
His left arm hung in a sling, the better to avoid aggravating his rib injury by using it. They walked, a little unsteadily, towards the half hidden cottage they shared.
'Careful, My Idiot, don't open anything up...' The tone was light, but her expression betrayed her true feelings.
'Yes Ma'am,' Corwyn replied, pausing. 'Does that include the door?'
She cuffed the back of his head. 'Baka...' she said, smiling softly. He feigned a hurt look, and opened the door. It was dark inside, and empty. He could smell the kids and the pair of oddly matched siblings, but it seemed they weren't around. Most likely Meg and Dyl were out showing the pair thier favourite secret places. With a great sigh he settled himself into a great pile of cushions. 'Still hungry, oh great Tiger?'
Corwyn pulled her close with his good arm. 'Now that you mention it...'
trying to figure out what he's missed since he last looked around...
heh, it's been a while, and I've been both busy and distracted over the last year or so. I think I have a lot of backdated posts to read, then I'll see about jumping back in. Hopefully by the weekend.
Lets see how those ribs have fared, eh?

Reading the menu she decides quickly* Steak sandwich, fries, sparkling water with lime please. *looks to Ice Raven before asking her next question* I assume to currency here is gold?
"I think he has better.." Ralma commented, "But we can try it.."
Taking the bottle she tried dusting a little over the large scorch that went down Magnus' shoulder. At first, seeing it solidfy into rubbery clots over the wounds was promising, but then she realized that such an approach was a little bit redundant. She and Magnus both healed rather fast, and in a way unique to their heritage. Especially when administered with healing enhancements as easily judged by the way Magnus' skin seemed to visibly crawl around the wounds. In a moment, the burnt flesh seemed to crack in many places, and a strange plate-like membrane seemed to emerge, crawling along between two layers of his unscorched skin. This happened from the top, the sides and the bottom all at once, making the way Magnus sealed his wounds to be more like a ship bulkhead falling over a breach to prevent water from being taken on.
"Damn, those stims always make things work so fast.." Ralma commented as she pulled an aerosol can from within the kit and sprayed it over the still remaining opening in the wound.
It was probably an antiseptic spray because wherever it landed, a visible bubbling occurred, as it interacted with the bacteria that had tried to enter the wounds. Next she moved to release the clasp on Magnus' breastplate, and pulled the entire thing away. There was an audible squelch, as blood had created many little bonding points between Magnus' body and the armor. Rolling him on his side, she slowly wedged it open then pulled it off. Beneath Magnus' torso seemed to be the bulk of the injury, with rather evenly placed burns and split skin revealed by scorched away portions of his shirt. As the breastplate went clear, Ralma next went to work on the shirt splitting it at the collar and down the back, then across both shoulders to the arms. And in rather swift order the mangled shirt was free and Ralma could see what state Magnus' body was in.
Simply put, a mess: Burns crawled across his entire upper body, and blood had dried across wide swaths of his torso. But strangely enough they did not crawl beneath the waistline, as the breastplate had conducted the energy through both sides of his body. Here she began spraying the antiseptic across the injuries as best she could since by now most of the burns had sealed thanks to those unusual platelet shelves which were migrating under Magnus' skin.
"I don't KNOW what happened to him.. I wasn't there. I just woke up and found him gone so I went looking. I found him like this." Ralma answered, "If you want to know what he got into, you'll find out when I know.."
The mention of Corwyn's children brought Ralma's thoughts back to Dylan, who she hadn't seen yet.
"Uh... Where's Dyl?"
