“Imagine Robert Pattinson as John Lennon,” an item in the Star item began, adding, “It’s easy if you try.”

As previously reported, the tabloid claimed Pattinson “is in talks with director Robert Zemeckis to play the late great Beatle in Disney’s 3-D remake of the classic cartoon Yellow Submarine.”

The story was picked up by numerous outlets, and there were elements that made it plausible: Pattinson is British, and has a fondness for writing and playing music.

Suffice to say, we reached out to EVERYONE, and it was a long and winding road, but a Disney rep who spoke directly with the filmmakers told Gossip Cop the rumor is absolutely “false.”

Rob mention is at the beginning of the video.

The good news for fans of THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON is that star actor Robert Pattinson doesn’t skirt the embarrassing or strange questions. The bad news is fans may not like the answers.

First Pattinson tries to clear up the difference between shooting a romantic scene in Hollywood and actually having a real romantic moment. His first comment will sum it up.

“I haven't done that many romantic things,” he says. And don’t ask him to serenade you because he hasn’t done that either. “You have to have so much balls to do that. Jesus Christ. I can't think of a single romantic thing that I've ever done. That's terrible. I put a flower in someone's locker when I was 15 years old, this girl called Maria. Maybe I was 14. She thought that it was someone else and the other guy claimed it.”

Well that’s kind of a disappointment to fans, right? Don’t worry it gets better. While Pattinson isn’t a skilled romantic, he can play one on the big screen rather well.

“I keep being told by people that I need to pump up all the stuff about the action and all this stuff for the guys to go and see it,” Pattinson says. “It's ridiculous. It's like saying guys can't appreciate romance. I don't think that you can say that about GONE WITH THE WIND or something. I've watched TITANIC and I didn't think, ‘Oh, this is a girl's film.’ Unless you're a complete idiot of a guy, I don't really think … and especially in NEW MOON and in the whole series I've never played it as if I'm playing a series of girl's films, doing something just for girls. I don't feel like I'm doing TIGER BEAT every week, a kind of animated TIGER BEAT. I like doing the romantic scenes. I felt like the storyline in NEW MOON is very heartbreaking and true. I didn't think that I was doing something just for the sake of romance. In a lot of ways it's a really sad story.”

A reminder to be ~civil. Keep in mind the Nat'l Enquirer is cited as a credible source.

ROBERT Pattinson’s relationship with Kristen Stewart is getting serious!

The Twilight lovebirds are reportedly planning to live with each other!

“They’re not ready for a huge commitment, but right now the best thing to do seems to find a home with a lot of privacy and security where they can find out how compatible they really are,” a source told In Touch Weekly magazine.

“They’re young and live these crazy lives at the moment. Even if you are head over heels in love with each other, you never really know if one of you has habits that will drive the other crazy.

“They want to give it their best shot, and that’s a big deal.

“They’re both entertainers and understand this bubble they’re both living in more than anyone else right now. They have a lot in common.”

It was recently reported that Kristen, 19, had taken up piano lessons so she can play with 23-year-old Rob, a guitarist.

“She thought it was really romantic — anything to be closer to Rob,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

It's hard to imagine now, but back when Robert Pattinson first landed the role of Edward Cullen in the "Twilight" movies, many of Stephenie Meyer's most loyal fans were angered by the selection of the relatively unknown actor.

These days, of course, millions adore the man they affectionately call RPattz. In comments sure to raise eyebrows among Twilighters, however, one famous fan recently told us that while she loves the story, she thinks it's far from reality.

"I don't think anyone is Edward in real life," insisted Stephanie Pratt of "The Hills," who is a hardcore "Twilight" fan and admits that she is a fan of Robert himself.

"I feel bad that people think he's Edward, because that definitely puts a lot of pressure on him," Stephanie said of Robert. "I mean, it's Edward, and then Rob."

Much as the success of the "Harry Potter" film franchise turned the once-unknown Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint into internationally famous and extremely wealthy movie stars, a similar route to lifelong financial security is clearly in the cards for "Twilight"/"New Moon" stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

As the trio approaches negotiations for what may be two films based on the Breaking Dawn novel in author Stephenie Meyer's vampire saga, word has it Pattinson, Stewart and Lautner are joining forces to negotiate as a team. The story is reminiscent of the approach taken by "Friends" stars Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc -- who famously stuck together for all of their contract negotiations in that hit TV series' long run.

Though nothing is yet on paper, there is word the huge box-office hauls of both "Twilight" and "New Moon" -- and the likely success of "Eclipse," already shot and due in June -- has the three actors likely to be able to demand paychecks well into eight figures for the next two films.

• By the way, a good source close to Pattinson and Lautner tells me the two young actors are "very amused" by all the stories flying around the blogosphere about an alleged big "feud" between the co-stars. While the two men couldn't be more different in real life, the Summit Entertainment insider says their relationship is truly a case of "opposites attract" and the two actors actually are extremely good friends.

Robert Pattinson’s second foray into the role of Edward in THE TWILIGHT SAGA: NEW MOON put him in a good position as an actor.

He’s became much more comfortable with the role and those cast members he was working with as the first experience on TWILIGHT, he says. But that comfort level comes with a modicum of stilling fighting for things he wants from the role.

“You’re still fighting against some things [in the script],” Pattinson says. “The franchise itself, there's nothing really scary about it. I like the people that I work with. I generally have very few disagreements about the script or about anything when we're doing it, especially on NEW MOON. It just seemed so relaxed and easy.”

What made it even easier was that Pattinson researched his role into Edward for the original TWILIGHT by reading NEW MOON, which gave him ideas about how to play the vampire in the first film. So moving into a second movie was just an easy transition.

ASHLEY Greene is quite clearly on Team Edward!

The actress — who plays Alice Cullen in the Twilight movie franchise — says she finds costar Robert Pattinson sexier than Taylor Lautner.

“It’s funny though — once you get to know them, you don’t think of them in that way,” Greene said. “And Taylor’s only 17! I’m like, ‘Are you joking dude? 17-year-olds do not have bodies like that!’

“I see him more as my little brother than a love interest. With Rob I can definitely see the appeal. He’s very talented and I think talent makes a guy sexy.

“We all kind of flirt with each other. We share this intense bond. But Jackson Rathbone and I immediately got along.

“He was teaching me how to do this stupid dance on the first day I met him! He’s adorable.”

In other news, Jackson is precious.

What happens when you take the biggest rock band in history and the biggest name in movies today?

You get a juicy rumor like the one in Star claiming Robert Pattinson is about to become a Beatle.

“Imagine Robert Pattinson as John Lennon,” the item begins, “It’s easy if you try.”
Easy how? Well, according to the tabloid, Pattinson “is in talks with director Robert Zemeckis to play the late great Beatle in Disney’s 3-D remake of the classic cartoon Yellow Submarine.”

So will Pattinson – whose fondness for music is well known – really make a film bridging the biggest youth culture phenomenon of the moment (Twilight) with what might have been the biggest phenom of all time?

It’s way too early to say. Gossip Cop is still investigating, but no one we’ve contacted, even at Zemeckis’ company, could confirm Pattinson’s potential involvement.

We’ll definitely be keeping our ears to the ground on this one to see if this “Submarine” sinks or not.

It's going on the three week mark since the release of "New Moon," but we've still got plenty of goodies to keep your interest going through your sixth, seventh and eighth times going to see the film and into your anticipation of "Eclipse." This time, it's the final installment of Robert Pattinson's MTV Radio interview, which left us with this important revelation: HE DOESN'T HAVE A PUBLICIST.

"I do have very, very specific ideas about how I want to do my work and how I want to be perceived to the point of ridiculousness, sometimes. I don't listen to anyone else. That's why I don't have a publicist or anything," Rob told MTV Radio. "I can't stand it if someone is trying to tell me to do something, which is maybe a mistake sometimes."

For anyone familiar with Hollywood, you'll know that a publicist acts as many things like buffering their stars from fan encounters and coordinating interviews. They generally handle scheduling and planning, and let the stars do their own thing. So for the leading man of "The Twilight Saga" who can have fans take off their clothes at an offhand comment to be handling his own publicity, we're assuming that it certainly does feel like a mistake sometimes.

In other more relevant news from the interview, Robert did admit he thinks he'd win in a fight with Taylor Lautner, but only if it was between Edward Cullen and Jacob Black.

"Looking at Taylor's martial-arts videos from when he was, like, 9, I wouldn't really want to do anything [to make him angry]," Rob admitted. "Maybe if I had some kind of weapon. But if Edward and Jacob [fought], I think it's actually a fact that Edward would win I think, if I read the books correctly. So I guess I could hold onto that for my ego."

He was, however, a bit more guarded when it came to a sly question asking how he separates himself from the onscreen romances ("Are you really dating Kristen Stewart?" in layman's terms).

"You've always got to remember that you're being paid and that there's a lot of connotations that come with [onscreen romance]. I think that's one of the major separations. Yeah, I think so," he said. So even with the sneaky questioning, Rob still won't give us anything. Damn you, David Letterman!

With the #1 movie in the world bearing his name above the title and Hollywood's hottest scripts lining his doorstep, it's a good time to be Robert Pattinson. Not that the 23-year-old star has had much chance to enjoy it, as he recently told us he only received "three days off" in 2009, and 2010 looks even busier.

Recently, MTV Radio caught up with the man beloved by millions as Edward Cullen to discuss his plans for the new year — from "Breaking Dawn" and beyond.

"I've only done one movie outside of the 'Twilight' series, 'Remember Me,' " Rob said of his first true post-fame project, a March 12 romantic drama opposite Emilie de Ravin whose shoot was most notable for its security issues. "But even that I did with the same studio, so I guess I'm still a little bit blind as to what my actual economic viability will be outside of the series."

Undoubtedly, all eyes will be on "Remember Me" when it tests RPattz's box-office clout in a few months. Following that and June's "Eclipse," his fans will have some other high-profile flicks to look out for.
