Welcome to Royal Park, a mental facility and rehabilitation center situated in the Cascade Mountains of Washington State.

Here at Royal Park we have a large, up to date facility and care for many young patients with various mental illnesses and addictions. Our staff are friendly and professional, caring for the patients and doing whatever they can to ensure that they have everything they need. There are also numerous activities available for patients to engage in, in order to keep them occupied, and rooms for all staff members should they wish to live on the grounds. We are always happy to accept new patients into our folds, and love to meet new employees, so join today!

This is a slash friendly role play. If you don't know what that is, maybe you should leave. Remember, no net speak, no mpreg, no OOC drama conflicting with IC, keep your drama realistic, respect all members, be nice and have fun!

OOC drama is BAD and will not be tolerated. Keep all drama IC. While we do understand it happens and there's no 100% preventing anything, please try to keep the OOC drama to a bare minimum. This is just a game people, lets make it fun.

Netspeak is NOT allowed. Please, no typing like a robot [u, ure, lyk, r]. It is not hard to spell out the words. We would also prefer it if you stuck to storybook role playing in this community.

Please be aware that there are no computers in patient rooms, only in the library/rec room. So IC AIM and IM intersections between characters is unlikely. Please keep that in mind and just find the other character in the hallway! We want scenes, not AIM convos.

You MUST post a disclaimer in your character's userinfo stating that you are not the character you are playing with a link back to this page, and friends lock your character's journal.

If you’re not going to be online for a while, please contact one of the mods on AIM first.

To prove you read the rules, make the subject of your application one of your favourite lines from a song.

If you wish to pull your character, please contact one of the mods, or make a post in the OOC community so we can remove your character from the list and the other characters know you are leaving.

Please try to be active on AIM and to update your journal at least once every two weeks. <-- Can't stress this enough. We don't care if it's a one liner, a blog, or a novel. Just update.

This is an AIM based community. So AIM is required and the more you're online the better it is for character interaction.

This is an AU community and we allow male and female characters; fandom, bandom, myspace scene, actors/actresses, anyone 'famous',and original characters. No 'played by's please!

Patients must be between the ages of 16 and 19. They can be male or female. Please age your character properly. If you make them 18 and their birthday is in two weeks, apply them as 17 so they turn your desired 18.

Doctors/nurses/security guards/orderlies must be over 25 and they can be male or female. These are characters of power, but please don't abuse that power. Do not godmod and take superior control over patients 'because you can/are able to' because you're a security guard or whatever. If anything does happen, please contact a mod about it and we'll deal with the problem. (Author's Note: Or! Have your character IC come to Shannon and continue playing it out the way your char would. Shannon will deal with it the way he sees fit.)

There is to be NO character death in this community. This includes suicide and murder. Your characters cannot die. If you wish to leave, contact a mod, and/or post in the OOC community and your character, if a patient, will be "transferred". Staff members can quit or relocate also, so there is no need for character death.

There are also no pregnancies allowed, period. No mpreg. No normal pregnancy. No pregnancy at all. This is a mental institution, the last thing the patients or doctors need is a child.

Remember, roleplay is not all about sex. It’s not fair to ignore certain characters just because they aren’t a possible sex partner. Surely you can think of plenty of other storylines, it is a mental institution after all!

Your disorders can be as mild/severe as you want, within reason. Try to keep disorders to the kind you would typically find in a mental hospital, there’s no need to go completely over the top. No more than 3 disorders per patient, please, unless the disorders are tied together/related.

We don't expect you to be a complete expert on the problem your character has, but we do expect you to put some effort into making it seem realistic. There are a lot of resources online which you can read to help give you a better idea on how the disorder works, and it will make the game a lot better if you do.

Characters must act the way their disorder makes them. If your character is depressed, they won’t be running around all happy like. Make sure you keep their disorders in mind while rping.

You must post an application from your character's journal as a reply to the application post in this community. After your application has been accepted, request membership to this community and all of the sub communities.

Be nice. This means be nice to everyone, and treat everyone with respect. We’re all people here and it is just a game. OOC abuse will NOT be accepted.
