welcome to the Rory Gilmore Summer 2006 ficathon
If you're looking for the Rory Gilmore (Rory/Logan - Rory/Jess) Summer 2006 Ficathon, you're in the right place. Check under the cut for all the info you need, and help spread the word.

Timeline:
Sign-ups end: Friday, July 29
Assignments go out: the week of August 1
Stories due: between September 10th and September 16th

To sign up, please use the following format:

You're also allowed one (other) restriction on something you WON'T write:

A note about the prompts:
• Prompts will consist of 2-4 lines from a source of your choice.
• Possible sources include song lyrics, quotes of poetry or prose, or quick snatches of dialogue (either from the show, or original dialogue you make up yourself).

Story requirements/Rules:
• All participants must submit a fic request, and all participants will receive a fic request to write.
• Stories should be a minimum of 500 words, and must contain some element of the Rory/Logan or the Rory/Jess relationship (at whatever stage).
• The prompt should be used to inspire the storyline, but it does not have to be included in the story (though if you can, that's awesome).
• If your prompt is part of a larger song or poem, please do not include in your story more than the 2-4 lines which were given as a prompt.
• Additionally, it is very much appreciated if you can include the requested item and abide by the requested omission.
• With the exception of betas, you should keep it a secret whose request you are writing to fulfill.
• Finally, we steal ciachick711's choice of terminology from last year (L/L ficathon) about where/how to post the story: "If you don't have a livejournal, I also require that you have a place to post your story that's not The Place where FanFic goes to die (aka FanFiction.net). I recommend Black, White, and Red."

One thing you don't need: No smut needed, just lots of banter and wit.
Would you be willing to write a back up fic: only if I have to.
One thing you won't write: smut, I'm smutted out right now.

2-4 line story prompt: "In the center of the paper, very small, in black ink, I draw a heart, not a silly Valentine but an anatomically correct heart, tiny, doll-like, and then veins that reach all the way to the edges of the paper, that hold the heart enmeshed like a fly in a spiderweb. One thing you would like to see in the story: A birthday party (but not Rory's) that has a picture cake with the birthday person's face on it.
One thing you don't need: A love triangle of any sort, whether it involves Rory and her love life or anyone else.
Would you be willing to write a backup fic: Sure, if needed. And if I've got enough notice.
One thing you won't write: Smut--I really can't. Trust me, you don't want to see me try.

Would you be willing to write a backup fic? I'm not sure what this means, but sure.
You're also allowed one (other) restriction on something you WON'T write: Oh, crap. I don't know. Mega-angst. No character deaths. I like happy stories, but I don't need fluff.

One thing you would like to see in the story: Rory finding someone better suited to her than Logan, but not nessecarrily Jess. Could be Jess, but I'd prefer someone else.
One thing you don't want to see in the story: Total absence of Lorelai. She's rather important in Rory's life, so she should at least have a small part in the story.
Ship preference, very important if you won't write either/or: either, or neither. Rory with someone different, perhaps?
Would you be willing to write a backup fic?: I suppose...
You're also allowed one (other) restriction on something you WON'T write: Smut. I don't want to do that...

Please take a look at the guidelines. This is a Rory/Logan and Rory/Jess ficathon, and isn't open to other pairings.

If you'd still like to participate, please modify your requests to fit those--for instance, you can request a Rory/Jess story, and your "one thing you'd like to see" can be that she leave Logan for him. That's perfectly acceptable, but requesting a different ship altogether isn't within the bounds of this challenge.

We would love for you to be a part of it, though, so please consider re-submitting your request, because everything else looks great, and if you've got any more questions, you email us at roryficathon06 [at] gmail [dot] com.

Ship preference, very important if you won't write either/or: Rory/Logan only. Sophie-friendly :D
Would you be willing to write a backup fic? Yes. But I still prefer Sophies.
You're also allowed one (other) restriction on something you WON'T write: not a lot of smut. I can do it, but I won't go hard core, just subtle notes. And no third party players that try to break up Sophies. I don't like that storyline
