A B O U T :
We'll try to make this brief. This is a slash community for HBO's series Rome, meaning a place where fans can share their insights into any homosexual content that might be present in the show, history itself, or, admittedly, their imaginations. If this kind of material makes you uncomfortable, please be forewarned and be on your merry way. Communities like these exist so that slash fans can share ideas without worrying about offending any mainstream fans. We respect your personal space, so please respect ours.

However, understand that this community supports both male/male and female/female relationships. If there's anything that irks us above all else, it's a rabid slash fangirl who thinks lesbians are gross. As such, absolutely no bashing of one or the other will be tolerated from insiders or outsiders alike.

R U L E S :

1) This community is a broad one, and will accept posts of opinions, fanfictions, fanart, icons, media, etc.

2) All pairings, relationships, and character interpretations are welcome. Although we love intelligent discussion and constructive criticism, there's a clear line between debating and bickering. If you don't support Pullo/Vorenus, for example, then don't read someone's Pullo/Vorenus fic. If you read someone's fic and believe they characterized someone wrongfully, comment with an objective explanation of how they did so instead of attacking the author in question. If a fandom injustice truly irks you to no end, you're welcome to post up some thoughtful analysis of why you think so. (You just might be the only sane one.)

3) All pictures and written works should be put under an LJ-cut. If you don't know what that is or how to make one, please refer to this explanation. (Icon previews or reasonable thumbnails are okay.) You should also label your contribution as being unsafe for work, (i.e. porn or weirdness), before the cut if such a warning applies. (Seeing as this community deals with a series meant for a adults in the first place, I'll assume we're all mature enough that ratings shouldn't be too much of an issue.)

4) More importantly: All spoilers should be put under an LJ-cut. (This includes all the major, gaspy plot developments up to the twelfth episode, and perhaps even beyond that. Yes. that means historical information. Sorry, die-hards.) If you post up a fanfiction, fanart, or icons with spoilers, make sure to give a warning before the cut. Come to think of it, don't use spoilery icons either.

.....You know----just.... just BE CAREFUL. Okay?

5) Content concerning heterosexual pairings is fine if it includes slash as well, but not if the het stands alone. For example: A fanfiction with Cassius/Brutus and Caesar/Servilia as the two main pairings would be a-okay, but an Antony/Atia fanart would not. Love triangles including het, (such as Vorenus/Niobe and Pullo/Vorenus), are fine as well, even if ol' Lucius sticks to his wife in the end. The logic behind this is that we have nothing against heterosexuality itself, (love is love, so who cares?), but we are here to give a home to any contribution that might have any "offensive" qualities at all, whereas a regular old het fic or character analysis would find no opponents in a general fic community. (All of this goes for any other contributions you might make besides fics or art.) If you do have het stuff that you want to share with other fans, please refer to the links below to find your work a loving home.

6) This fandom is an intimidating one, what with all the literary and historical references, and how readers of fanfictions are likely to be like accuracy pirahnas coming in for the kill. I, for one, am a literary geek who knows enough ancient history to get by, but I understand that not all of us are versed in every possible level that Rome touches on. If you notice a historical inaccuracy in someone's contribution, or if you're disgusted by how horribly, (and obliviously), one of us butchers a timeline, please comment with your criticism, not insult. This community will appreciate instructors with endless gratitude and show smartasses no mercy.

7) Please use common sense! No wank. No yelling. No bickering. And no stupidity, PLEASE. its ppl whoe typ liek dis hoe giv SLASHOMG!fanssss a bad name LOLZ!!!1111one but liek lucius&titus (OMGOTP) say omg we are 2 c00l & 1337 & smurtszzz 4 tht YAY!

....If you mess around and type like that in jest, however, it's totally fine. (We're really not tightasses. At all. We swear. In fact, we're kinda stupid ourselves. In a good way...?)
