LITMUS + OBIAT + LEADEN, Thurs 20th Oct
Rocksoc's first gig of the academic year will take place next Thursday, 20th October, at The Portland Arms, Cambridge.
Line-up is:

Heavy Hawkwind-esque spacerock, but certainly not afraid to break out of the genre with metal/punk/doom influences. Actually sound much better live than on cd! Have supported the likes of Electric Wizard, Ramesses and played European doom festivals in the past.

OBIAT (http://www.obiat.com)
Mesmerizing and hypnotic, but riff-laden metal based in Reading but constituting members from Hungary and Poland. Again, have supported the likes of Electric Wizard, Acid King recently.

LEADEN
Cambridge-based prog-metal, one of the brightest young metal bands in the area, were known as Mutiny until recently. Sound a bit like Mastodon.
