rockford commercials "creative" rockford commercials:
- "it's so easy my caveman can do it!" - immitating the geico caveman commercials - the commercial which plays the theme from "everybody loves raymond" - the commercial with the dancing Mr. Peanut - no longer airing prolly due to copyright infringement - the "duh!" commercial - another ripoff of a national comercial - the commercial immitating "back to the future" - and there's more i forgot
i always love those superloud herky jerky commercials that take pictures of NOTHING and try to make it look exciting, when it's just 100% lameness - like the minglewood commercials a while ago
then there are the commercials that play over and over again - ack ack nursery - or the swedish american one where the woman is on the phone talking to her friend who adopted a baby girl from china - obviously made by someone who knows my aunt
even the "get tuitte" law firm commercials are using an idea i gave tuitte for his campaigne run
the only creative commercials are from lonnie's carpet or that old man that sells jewelry - b sanfield - but they keep running over and over

New kid in town Hey, I just moved here from Atlanta last month and I'm dying to find out the lesser known "best" things to do in this town. You know, the bad ass dive bars - good place to hear jazz/funk/blah blah blah - fantastic hole in the wall restaurants. My boyfriend and I are in our late 20's so suggestions for a young couple to do on the weekends are greatly appreciated. Also, does Greater Rockford have any place that plays great hip hop music? I'll even settle on good house music, NOT techno. Anyway, I know I'm asking for alot, but it's hard to come from a big city to a smaller one. Please advise..... Hey, I am in Beloit (which sucks more than Rockford, I promise) and some of my friends and I want to go out to dinner someplace and we have exhausted the (three) options in Beloit. And Madison is kind of far. Needs to be vegan/veg friendly, kind of cheap, maybe Indian? Any recommendations? | | Wednesday, January 25th, 2006 | 2:43 pm [madman101]

That Town Shall Settle Hence
In Cannadoo did Kubla Kant A steaming pressure pot decree: Where Rock, that scheming river, ran Rumors to our Kingdom by the sea. Therein, schools of measured men Ganged their stares and banged their heavy heads, Like verdicts o'er walls of cold cement, And went from room to room, as dead. I heard it all down here in memory, The shouts of gloom and, "its your fault," Down in my Kingdom by the sea, Where aer, that sacred urn, burned ire to salt. In Cannadoo, there passed a soul, Wee and poor by most assessments, Who dared the door to show its threshold, While paupers rushed to nail investments, __________And fecklers whined, "Yankee, go home!" To what land sails the lot of your dreams - You, here, where Kubla reigns, remaining Lost behind the moon - when one so green Of you, you pitched full in sod and chaining? I'll say, my love's like a red, red rose, That tore its heart from leaves and thee, And climbed its own sure thorns, and rose Right up, a kindling fire, dawning by the sea: Where to dine is not to suffer worm and flies, Or but to think is not to be full of sorrow. __________Where Beauty can now keep her lustrous eyes, __________And new Love pine at them beyond to-morrow. | 12:53 pm [madman101]

Dear Gotham City... Batmobile - Liz Phair
Fire up the Batmobile Cause I gotta get out of here. I don't speak the language. And you gave me no real choice you gave me no real choice you made me see that my behavior was an opinion.
So fire up the Batmobile Cause I gotta get out of here. It's the mouth of the gift horse I know But I gave it my best shot I gave it my best shot I gave you the performance of a lifetime.
So I hope you all will see there just isn't a place here for me. I look around and feel like somebody must be fucking with me. I just can't take any of you seriously and I can't keep keeping myself company.
Fire up the batmobile Cause I gotta get out of here. Big shoulders block the view You can't get your money back you can't get your money back you can't pretend that isolation is the same as privilege
So I hope you all will see there just isn't a place here for me. I look around and feel like somebody must be fucking with me. I just can't take any of you seriously and I can't keep keeping myself company. | | Tuesday, August 2nd, 2005 | 1:54 pm [madman101]

everyday is a scientific education... Here's two things I heard the morning DJ's at WZOK say.
1 - The skin turns the sun into ultraviolet rays.
2 - DHT helps prevent hair loss.
And they just blast it out like it's God's only truth. | | Thursday, July 21st, 2005 | 7:27 pm [lostnotfound007]

On Saturday, July 30th, 12-8 pm, the Grayslake Youth Center is having a Rock in the Parks at Central Park, across from Grayslake Comm. High School. This concert event has a $5 ticket price, which I'm pretty sure you can buy at the gate. This event raises money for the Grayslake Youth Center that will be built soon.
I don't know all the bands, but two of them are Rule 22 and Overtone, local around Grayslake, but I think it's all pretty much local bands. There's 8 hours of music, food, and t-shirts, bracelets and whatnot.
So come, hang out, bring friends, have fun. Current Mood: invitingCurrent Music: John Mayer -- Daughters | 5:25 pm [madman101]

anime is a four letter word Hmmmm... I just created a new anime community for Rkfd LJ. It isn't really "created" - I mean - it's just there. "Rkfd_Animerama". Anyway, I went to work on it and guess what? The computers at the Loves Park library filter out the word "Anime" - so anyone wanting anything on Anime can't get it. I guess maybe I'll have to alter the club's name so folks in LP can get to it.
That sucks. | | Wednesday, July 13th, 2005 | 12:21 am [punkdiana]

|!| Driving for Life |!| Hello,
I'm posting here because there are two Siberian Huskies that really need your help this weekend. These two sisters are trying to make it from a kill shelter into their approved rescue. They spent their days wandering a small town in Kansas, where they became infected with heartworms; when the local shelter picked them up, there was not much hope for them. When their ten day period was up, a shelter volunteer pulled them and transferred them to another kill shelter in a larger city in a desperate bid to buy them more time and a better chance at being adopted. Now, they've been accepted into a rescue that is fully aware of their medical condition and wishes to save them, if only they can get there. I'm not asking for donations, and I'm not asking for someone to adopt them (although that is certainly an option once they've been evaluated in rescue); they have a place to go, they just need to get there. Can you help them? Now traveling through Springfield, Bloomington, La Salle, Rockford, and Harvard, IL on their way to rescue.
If they do not make it to rescue this weekend (June 25 or 26), they will be put to sleep. This is their only chance.
