Hola :D
I'm a member of the Eggman Empire site, and have been randomly joining other Sonic communities too lately. I also recently changed my LJ username, and whilst looking to join communities, I remembered that this place existed! So hello!
I'm a big Eggman fan. I can prove it too!
I went to the Summer of Sonic on Saturday, cosplaying as Dr Eggman. It was an awesome event and I was so happy to meet other Sonic fans too. I didn't take any pictures myself, but there are some littered around online, and if you look on YouTube, there is even a video of me on there :O

Robotnik in the beginning of the game faces off with Super Sonic, which is why we saw those images first. Sonic (who probably gets cocky at this point) gets caught in one of the Doctor's well ingenious planned traps; a machine of some sort that probably drains and corrupts the Chaos Emeralds, resulting in the bizarre after-effect the hedgehog goes through.
Sonic as a result has to travel the world to reverse the effects of Robotnik's machine by searching for Chaos Emerald shrines.
Also, there will be humans in the game, but they will fit the Sonic style.
Plus, the Eggman Empire is back up, including the forums.

Robotnik in a decisively eeeeeeeeevil pose. While the game is shaping up to it's final days at BioWare, Robotnik's role is still moot in the game.
Some point that he will eventually join your party ala Bowser in Super Mario RPG. Let's hope so. |

Sonic X! Besides the information coming out from the two new games is halted to a trickle (nothing really new concerning Dr. Robotnik in Unleashed or Dark Brotherhood; especially Brotherhood.) we will take Robotnik now to a monthly update.
This upcoming Sonic X issue grants the return of fan favourite, El Gran Gordo, along with Sonic as El Rapido Azule to stop Robotnik's mechanical grunts from going out of control.

Apparently the effects of Robotnik's new machine turns Sonic into a horrible werewolf like beast. Laughable, yes. The last thing we need is something that seems like out of a bad Sonic fanfic. But hopefully, they will downplay this atrocious add-in. Or maybe it won't be so bad....
However, the thing of interest is that SEGA is apparently listening now, because they decided to make this into a side-scrolling platform game.
Maybe this beastly Sonic is created to combat that horrible demonic thing.....

New CGI image of the mad doctor revealed. Apparently his shoes are now showing some wear on them (scores of scuff marks). You can see a better image of the new art at the official site: http://www.sega.com/gamesite/segasuperstarstennis/us/index.html
Robotnik's category is the power form as such in Riders, and has some wicked speed on the court. Expect his play to be a cross between Wario and Waluigi from Mario Power Tennis, accounting for such long limbs to excel in net playing, such as Luigi's anti-rival.
His Superstar power is the Egg Spiker (sounds like a type of alcoholic drink) in which he launches electrified spiked balls (reminiscent of the Sonic Drift land mines) along with the tennis ball, jolting any opposer with a high-voltage zap and a sure victory to the mad scientist.
His court is the famed rehashed Scrap Brain Zone.

Coming across Robotnik gameplay media on ZG is rare (seeing that there are tonnes of videos on newcomers Silver and Blaze,) but here are two of the big scientist in play.
FULL THROTTLE! At least, that's what I think he is saying when he goes Low G. Robotnik also takes a cue from Mario and family and spouts a "Here I go!" (more like Wario, now that I think about it)whenever he takes off. The mad doc loves that speed and gravity, just as much as he loves fun.
And yes, he can still punch thousand tonne lorries (trucks) and send them flying like they were tin toys.
Here Robotnik decides to race in Astral Babylon. Gotta love that grace.
Still there are no videos of Robotnik running (all characters can level up to running mode) and it is your duty to search for them or film them and post them up. |

So, I got Sonic Riders Zero Gravity for my birthday on Monday.
The crystalized mustache is back, and yes, he his bike bound. And very slow, unless on a steep downhill slope.
His attakcis just basically running at the other riders and screaming.
Oh, something interesting from the profile: By his own admission, he is an self-centered evil genius with a passion for robotics.
Those people at the Sonic Team just love messing with his character. 15 years and they still haven't figured him out. x_x
I still love the game, though. |

So, by looking at these, you would have to think that these items were released back in the Mega Drive days. Right?
Did you know that these items were released VERY recently? In the year 2004.
Oh, by the way, the bank makes a noise when you insert a coin. What noise it makes is unclear, though.
And speaking of that new Robotnik retro plushie that is supposed to come out (it hasn't yet.) apparently the company has even more Sonic items that are supposed to come out in the 2008 season.

You wanted it, you got it! The Year of Robotnik continues with new images of Sega superstars Tennis confirming a Robotnik court stage.
Apparently SEGA realizes that Robotnik was the ONLY good thing in Sonic 2006, and decided to implement a
stage based after the base design from that game. Damn you Shadow, you are not helping.
The GHZ interviewed Taylor Miller, the producer of Sonic Rivals 2, and one of the questions that came up was concerning about Eggman Nega's status in the games after the Alternate Demension/ Ancestor wrench thrown in the Rivals 1 plot machine.
He decided to use SEGA's response to the matter instead:
"Although there may of been some differences in the story setting for both Sonic Rivals 1 and Sonic Rush, Eggman-Nega is the same character. He comes from another demention, and the reference of time was to place the mystery of the cards in context with the story. We really hadn't effectively changed where Eggman-Nega comes from, just added another demention if you like to the overall storyline."
So for all of you Nega conspirators, your theory of two different Negas based on sheer attitude alone is now debunked. Make of it as you will.

Well, my boyfriend got me Mario&Sonic at the Olympic Games (I'm the luckiest gal alive).
Let me tell you, Eggamn PWNS at archery, fencing and skeet (shooting).
He also blows kisses to the audience if you get first place o_o;.
It's also an overall great game, too. *skips workout routine and plays this*

Now we are getting somewhere. This is what Robotnik should be! The official CGI artwork for Sonic Riders 2 have been revealed on the Japanese site, and is MUCH better and different by contrast than what was found on US site. Perhaps Sonic Team does care about him after all....
Look for big things in 08 for our mad scientist. My hopes have lifted for him in this game.
And GAME has announced in their classic Sonic collection that a retro Robotnik plushie is due out (possibly) next year:
UK retail group GAME Digital Ltd have added a set of plushes to their exclusive range of retro Sonic merchandise. As with other items in the product line, the plushes are based on the original Mega Drive designs.
Sonic & Tails are the only characters that are currently available. Plushes of Kncukles and Dr Eggman have been confirmed as part of the line-up, but it is not yet clear when they will be released. No other plushes are planned.
The toys are available from both GAME & Gamestation stores.

If you looked at the screens of the upcoming Sega Superstars Tennis, you would think that Dr. Robotnik is the main star of the game. Perhaps that is true, but they are downplaying Sonic's role in this game which is a rare event of any game concerning the blue hedgehog. At last the mad scientist is starting to get his due, and just maybe, in the future he will have a bigger role to play. Maybe.

Robotnik's crystallized moustache returns. The artwork this time around is subpar compared to the other characters, in fact, they didn't even bother using his in-game costume. While Robotnik continues to get loads of love and attention from other companies producing Sonic games (Backbone, Nintendo), Sonic Team seems to continue neglecting him over other characters (Blaze, Silver, Cream, ect.)
Now, I won't expect more than hoverbikes for him to ride again this time around. Goddammit.
Albeit, he does continue to look adorable, in a cartoony plump sort-of way in this artwork. |
