We've been sort of lax with the meetings and jams lately, here at the RCC, but I think we probably pulled our most cohesive jam out of our ass on this one; from our December 9th meeting.

| New RCC Jam Comic! |
[Oct. 15th, 2007|12:48 am] |

This one sort of falls into a common jam-comic trap, that of every artist wanting to take the story in a completely different direction.

| Portland Zine Symposium Jam Comics! |
[Aug. 12th, 2007|09:38 pm] |
The RCC got ourselves a little bit of tabling action at the Portland Zine Symposium this weekend. Instead of doing a traditional review (by far our most successful tabling experience to date), we decided to do a journal jam-comic both days. I'm sure nothing in it is self-explanatory, even if you were there. Now, only 48 more days until Stumptown!
Day 1:

Fun fact: "Evan" is BT's roommate who was kind enough to bring a box full of Baby Otto comics from home when the original batch sold out much sooner than expected.

Day 2 (a little more free-form):

| Two Comic Jams! |
[Jul. 9th, 2007|03:09 am] |
Here's the jam comic from our meeting this weekend. We had a few prospective members show up and some were even brave enough to add to the jam. This one takes a little knowledge of the Portland metro area to truly appreciate. I apologize to everyone else who might see this because I just don't have the time to explain the humor behind Gresham.

| Spokane Comicon 07 Review |
[May. 28th, 2007|11:48 pm] |
A few members of the RCC, including yours truly, travelled up to Spokane, Washington for the inagural Spokane Comicon, the first comics show the city has seen in 16 years. We had a great time and got to introduce more folks than we expected to the RCC. Big thanks go to Nathan O'Brien, the coordinator, for doing an awesome job putting the whole show together. We definitely plan on heading back next year, although I personally would like to see a few more creators show up to sell their stuff, as opposed to the larger amount of comic and collectible vendors that were also at the show. ( Here are some pictures! )

We also debuted two books at the Spokane show: Creation, our 48-page anthology, and the RCC's first group release. It features a story from each of the collective's 11 founding members. We are already down to only three two one copy left of the first run, a limited edition (25) version with a 3-color, hand-pulled, screen printed cover. If you happen to be in the Portland, Oregon metro area, copies are also available at Reading Frenzy, Floating World Comics, and Karen's Comics. A larger, non-screened run will be produced upon the sale of the first edition. The other book is Maddison Bond's The Occult Collection, a 12-page illustrated book that follows the adventures of a nameless protagonist through an H.P. Lovecraft inspired world. Both books are currently available in the RCC Store. |
