AboutThis Community is fed up with the belief that the Naval characters of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise are the villains of the piece. This community welcomes anyone who believes in the good nature of the characters as portrayed in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
This Community does not accept the sequels as canon. DMC fics may be acceptable at a stretch, but it is advisable to enquire of the mod, prior to posting to avoid giving offence

This community believes that "of course, he [James Norrington] was by far better, more complex, more sexy, and more charming as he was before [POTC:DMC]. Testosterone is something you can find in any average male human being. But being "a fine man" whose testosterone still can show underneath a brocade coat and civilized manners, well, this is all a different story. Everything to do with the RNotC is welcome: fanfic, fanart, icons, jokes, moaning*, it's all good. Keep things relevant, however. If you advertise a multi-fandom icon post with icons not pertaining to the RNotC, that will be considered irrelevant. You may get a warning or you may find your post deleted without warning.

The Moderator wishes it to be known that fanfics that propitiate the image of Norrington of DMC as a broken, tortured soul who has reached rock bottom will not be tolerated, and will be deleted without warning. I don't mind DMC fics, just do not try to force the idea that that proud man was broken upon us. There is only so much angst to be wrung from his character. There is nothing wrong with it, per se, but it is not part of the RNotC agenda.
