Author's Note: Quite possibly the only thing I really loved about DMC (apart from the Scruffington snark) was Will's coat. I loved that coat. I still covet that coat. So when I started writing this, I got to thinking...the only thing better than a pretty boy in a leather coat is a sexy man in a leather coat, right? Right.

Author's Note: I've always thought it strange that there aren't many fics out there dealing with the psychological impact the battle at Isla de Muerta would have on the Navyboys. Even though the term post-traumatic stress disorder didn't exist back then, I think that most people who would live through that would suffer some serious mental and emotional trauma. They would not just be okay. So this my take on what happened, seen through the eyes of Lieutenant Gillette. This fits into my Once Upon a Time fic-verse, though this piece stand alone.

From Port Royal to Kingston and Back.

I have a question for those of you terrible knowledge ridden people - I am writing sexy Beckington and at this point of research I am begging so bogged down in learning that the sexy Beckington isn't getting written - so my question is:

If Lord Beckett and Norrington had been invited to a ball in Kingston and decided to go, would they take a carriage over land or a ship over sea? I personally see a carriage ride in order, but if I am dead wrong, someone please tell me before I make another blunder.

Yes, do we all remember that time I blundered on Lord Beckett's tea? If I were anymore of a feedback whore I would blunder deliberately just to get my comment count up with people yelling at me, "NOOoooooo! That's not historically accurate!!1" 8^)

Any help would be "teh awesome." Thankies!

Author's Note: So, it's been awhile. Since I can't seem to finish anything I've been working on, and because I needed to do something productive before I go completely insane, I went back and edited this piece than mrs_norrington and I collaborated on...oh, sometime last September. Better late than never, eh? Anyway, she brought up the idea of James and Andrew running into each other at a molly house, and it sort of snowballed from there. We wrote it as a round-robin, with me taking James's POV and Mrs. N taking Andrew's. We enjoyed working on it, and we hope everyone enjoys it as well. :) This part links to Part 2.
