We finally finished the Jungle Log guys! That's why the Queen was able to make this announcement. Yes, there was a month or so inbetween the time that the gang went into the jungle and that post, so here's what you the players should understand happened, for OOC reference.

Day 162 (FRIDAY SEPTEMEBER 5) ::	Lelouch's group went to the Temple to slay Zikhadhara; Temple Guardian slain and Zikhadhara's body destroyed; Colonel Casimiro arrived too late to do what Lelouch's group had already done. [link]
Day 172 (MONDAY SEPTEMEBER 15) ::	The Chancellor notified the populace that Colonel Casimiro's brigade was scouring the Jungle for Zikhadhara's allies. [link]
Day 163 (FRIDAY SEPTEMEBER 6) through Day 199 (SUNDAY OCTOBER 12) ::	General de Viers and the rest of the Rivelata military searched Zikhadhara's Temple for evidence that the Godking had or had not been destroyed.
Day 200 (MONDAY OCTOBER 13) ::	Balthier & Fran requested to join the search party; Travis and Basch went with them; but when they went to the Temple Den (Zikhadhara's personal rooms where Lelouch's group fought him as well), they were ambushed by the Godking's spirit along with a handful of Rivelata guardsmen (names TBD); all that was evident afterwards was that the red glow on the ceiling of the Den dimmed and faded, leading the whole military infantry that was there to believe Zikhadhara was defeated for good. However, those affected by the Godking's magic (everyone in the room at the time, including Balthier's group of four) did not survive the battle.* (This has not been logged and probably won't be.)
Day 201 (TUESDAY OCTOBER 14) ::	The Queen made her announcement. It's entirely possible that some characters knew about the fates described in Lelouch's Jungle Log before this entry, but now everyone does. [link]

Hopefully that clears the 'time-gap'/'time-skip'/'lag-time' up. Now plot moves on! /o/

I apologize for my incredible delay in posting anywhere lately, but my internet is being really, really sticky lately. As in, it's pretty much deciding for itself when it wants to work. Obviously, this poses a huge problem for me. The company has been called, they say it's not their equipment, and I know for a fact that our router is fine. Hey, Rivelata! Ryune here with character #5 - Morgan McKnight from the OEL Manga series "Aoi House." Since Aoi House is basically a series about a sorority harem full of yaoi fangirls, Morgan is coming in with full knowledge of nearly every anime and video game (plus several popular western fandoms).

so the first order of business is, can Morgan break the fourth wall around you? please respond?. A warning goes here for male characters - if you're half of a popular yaoi ship, Morgan is gonna follow you around and try to watch you have sex. She's incredibly forward like that (she did ask a near stranger if she could watch him shower). Squeenix characters are especially not-safe from Morgan. Actually, no one is safe from her.

She also loves candy and is fairly immature, so... yeah. Have fun!

Extra note! In honor of Day 200 coming up, I'm asking everyone to head over here if they'd like a personal say in the project, similar to last time!

I know the mods have thrown a lot at you guys lately and thank you to everyone who's responded to the changes so far. It really will help us. So, for those who may have missed it, here's a summary of what the mods are working on:

- Rules & FAQ updating, most importantly the New Rules.
- World Building; we're trying to make a new map based on what the players have contributed to Rivelata! In particular, Housing and Businesses.
- NPCs can be contacted now! Please be sure to use the rules stated here. PIRATES! IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THEM, POST HERE! Also, if you are interested in 'reviving' your Pirate, please post to the entry and the mods will consider it (based on level of interest) so we can get their plot back on track. Starting with removing the ship.
- Discussions are still open for Crossover Magic and How to Handle Plot Logs. In particular, if your fandom is NOT listed and you feel that its brand of magic could be taught, please contribute to this entry! Also, we are REALLY looking for player input on how to handle Plot Logs (there's only one thread on the whole entry and it's between 2 mods and 1 player).
- General Reminder Concerning Plot: it's okay to contact the mods with personal plot ideas!
REMEMBER THAT THE NEXT ACTIVITY CHECK BEGINS ON OCTOBER 15TH!
From now on, we will be hosting How's My Driving "memes" here in the OOC community starting on the 22nd of each month (following the end of the AC). I will be posting the calendar sometime in the next few hours, I hope. Assuming my calculations are correct, Day 200 is on October 13th. @_@ Wow.

It's done, guys. Go read the new Rules page. I'm serious - there were extreme changes made.

This starts a clean slate. Nothing from before this post was made will count towards "Bannable Offenses", but you better believe we are going to start enforcing the new Rules right now. This is why you need to take note of them.

One of the biggest changes is that from now on the OOC community will not be open-access (see the Addendum portion for details). The Acceptance Comment is getting changed so that you are required to reply to it with your character journal and your personal journal if you want it added to the community. As soon as the Hiatus & Drop page is updated and the character accounts removed, we are going to wipe the OOC comm of all accounts that are not already a part of Rivelata. Then, an f-locked will go up for current players to get their personal accounts added. After a certain period of time, that entry will get deleted, and henceforth all new applications will get processed in the manner I've described.

In other news, Alicia (Spider-mun/Hakkai-mun/etc.) has joined the moderation team to take on Lists and a few NPCs as per the updated Contact Page.

Continue to expect modposts as we work to revamp the other issues of plot and world-related stuff. I thank those who replied to my personal modpost for their input.

Lastly, now that the new rules have been posted, the moderation on the community is being lifted. We're not done with the revamping, but with the new rules in place, that is sufficient for the game to move on uninhibited.

Meet the guy with the hot, crazy hairstyle... Yami Yugi from Yu-gi-oh. To those who are familiar with the series, he's separate from Yugi Mutou and he's got his own body here in Rive. Yeah, so he'll go all emo sometimes and wonder where his beloved Aibou is. Especially since I took him from a time when Yugi's soul was taken by someone. T__T But at other times, he'll probably go around challenging people to games. Haha.

Yami means "darkness", by the way.

He's now my sixth muse. GASP! Already? I've got Mamori, Kikumaru, Mokona, Mihashi, Akaba and now him.

How strange. 4 out of 6 of my characters are boys. *FEMALE MUSE ALERT!*

Okay. Part 1.

It's 1 am as I post this up. I've got classes tomorrow, I need to wake up at 6 and I'm doing a homework as I type this... Yep, I'm crazy, right...

Anyway, muses bit me sometime this week (for reasons I don't know) and tortured pushed me to app 2 characters at once.

First one is Akaba Hayato from Eyeshield 21. He'll stare down at you with his red eyes. And make your brain cells die due to his strange music language. See if Rive matches his music sense.

Oh yes, he is also one of Sena's lovers amefuto rivals. Shinnie, here I come! XDDDDDDDDDDDD

He's my 2nd Eyeshield 21 character, and my fifth character over-all. I've got Mamori, Kikumaru, Mokona and Mihashi already.

So as a lot of you already know, Crawford is a pre-cognitive, which means that he can see the future.
At least he will, when his powers start coming back.

And when they do, I encourage everyone to send visions to our dear Mr. Crawford here. They can be anything, really, from straightforward to symbolic, to completely weird. The only limitation is that I ask that they not be lies, as his powers really <i>do</i> predict the future.

That was not cool. At all. I don't care who offended who, using my OOC post to take out your frustrations was not the way to do it.

Rules and FAQ are getting re-vamped ASAP; I'll be including all of the helpers in e-mails to hash this out. I am the de facto head moderator for the time being. Expect major changes in how the mods will deal with this sort of thing in the future.

Slander is going to become a serious offense leading towards getting banned. We have always said that if you E-MAIL US with your problems, we can work towards getting them solved. I received ONE e-mail about the issue before my post went up, and ONE regarding it in the past -- if you all feel so frustrated, compile your thoughts into an e-mail for the mods to read and address as a group.

Comments to this post are screened and same with the previous post (i.e. no I didn't delete them) so I can read through all of that. I have the transcript of the chat from last night to read as well.

All comms are going to get screened for posts until the moderators can discuss things. If I'm lucky, that will be one day, maybe two.

Edit 10:30AM EST: I have read the chat and previous posts' comments. I have sent out the first e-mail to the moderators. I will be online until approximately 5pm via IM and e-mail with only sparse breaks to speak with players and moderators. If you have specific issues you want to make sure get addressed, I encourage you to compile your e-mail or comment to this post ASAP. The issues we are already aware of include:
- How to handle player/mod, player/player, and mod/mod problems
- Plot and where it's heading
- World-building and NPC visibility

First off this entry will NOT be focused on:
- In-Game (Character) and Out of Game (Player) reactions blurred OR
- OOC Characterization claims

If at any time a player feels that any character is reacting in an OOC manner, an e-mail should be sent to the moderator account with evidence to substantiate these claims. That always has and always will be the case.

But that is not the issue I am addressing with this post. What I need to make very clear is that one thing above all else is critical to a positive atmosphere in this and any game:
COMMUNICATION.
What we call 'fun' is collective story-telling. That means that each player needs to be open and honest about personal plotting. Over the internet, the single most crucial thing we lose is tone of voice - there is no way for the other person to know if a comment that you intended to be a joke should be taken as serious or sarcastic, unless you explicitly say so.

In that same vein, character interactions can span the gamut of friendly rivalry to outright hatred. What matters is that the two (or more) players engaging in these more dangerous character emotions keep an open line of communication between each other. We will soon be updating the Rules with Guidelines for Moderator and Player Behavior, but for now please adhere to this:

If you plan to commit any of the following actions - or have any inclination that what you are plotting could POSSIBLY be intrusive on the other character's personal space - make sure you get permission from the player to do so!
- injury to characters
- damage to property
- possible emotional torment (such as 4th-wall-breaking)

This is a two-way street and misunderstandings can arise from either side - when they happen on both sides is when things like this happen.

Please be respectful of one another, now let's move on.

And that pretty much sums up how Lieutenant Riza Hawkeye does discipline, with dogs and men and anyone else lazy enough to not get out of her way when she's working. "Riza Hawkeye is quite possibly the the most perfect model of a soldier in the State Army." And that sums up how good a shot she is, not to mention her dedication to her job. Which is... basically making sure that Colonel Roy Mustang does his, and when hard-pressed doing it for him. She's not a feminist; she is quite aware of her gender and reconciles it very nicely with her job.

Yes, Black Hayate is with her. One last note, she's from the Fullmetal Alchemist anime canon, because that's all I know. XD;; I've heard the general stuff behind the manga differences, but without reading it, I don't feel I can incorporate it into her character.

We would like to propose this new opportunity for characters in Rivelata: learning the magic of other worlds. Naturally, the mechanics for this still need to be fleshed out, but we would like to hear your opinions on this.

Item #2 - How to Handle Plot-Centric Logs
Ali and Jen were discussing the other day how challenging it is to run Plot Logs the way we are currently doing it - which is basically requiring a mod using the mod account or a character (or both) to lead other characters through the log and describe things as they go along. The main problem that we of course run into is what was dubbed "a restriction on creativity" - the constant worry about little details of every tag that might get posted to a Plot Log: Is there a door there? Is there a turn there? Can I do that? Can I move there? And so forth.

P.S. If a viable solution is offered, we could test it in the Library Log for Mohinder, Mitsuru, & co.

This time I bring Sano Izumi from Hana Kimi to Rivelata. He's a stubborn, jealous, and possessive sweetie pie. Well, actually at the point I've taken him from, he's kind of an asshole. Just a little, though. Basically he looks pretty, jumps high, quietly sasses people and protects Ashiya Mizuki with everything he's got - too bad Ashiya isn't around! xP

So please, say hi to him, and don't mind him if his mind's a little focused on finding Ashiya for a while. Also, make fun of him all you like, 'cause I took him in the middle of the night - and he's therefore running around Rivelata in his pajamas! ♥
