Not that I have much hope for this, but is there anyone on this island who has a thought in their head besides eating and sleeping and figuring out the next way of irritating the locals?

Say, perhaps, someone who has put the slightest effort into figuring out the forces behind our arrival here? Or the reason behind our limited powers? I assume I'm not the only one who's experience a certain loss, in terms of ability.

I suppose, if there is anyone interested, you may contact me through this...thing, as my understanding of it indicates that the book is some sort of communications device.

Depends on what you mean. I'm not particularly upset to be here, since I left home for a reason... but I think we should probably be doing more than running around like chickens with our heads cut off. If we feel lost, we ought to do something about it. Does that sound useful enough for you?

That's incredibly rational, from what I've heard so far from everyone else. It's mostly the loss of certain abilities that bothers me.

It takes hours to summon even the smallest bit of chi. I doubt I could heal anything more than a small cut at this rate.

So far, we've run into, shall I say, a difficult person difference of opinions. We're at an inn with a tavern attached.

I can't believe I'm finally seeing something logical and thought out writing itself in this diary. (I had lost faith after the bad poetry I was subjected to earlier.)

Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Colonel Jade Curtiss, Malkuth Empire Army’s 3rd Division. I arrived recently to wherever this is and haven't left the pier yet as I believe that the best way to find people is to stay in one place.

Alas I had to move away from the pier to collect a band of reprobates my associates. In theory, they should be waiting for me at a particular Inn sporting a conspicuous red dragon sign. Unfortunately, due to their infuriating unpredictable nature I fear I might have to try every Inn in the city in order to find them.

And I understand you perfectly. Once I make sure that none of my... associates... are getting into trouble, I would very much like to meet up and pool our resources...

I understand completely. I was lucky enough to arrive here with a...decided lack of idiots from my own reality, so my distractions are happily limited.

You have my sympathies, where your plight is concerned. Feel free to contact me whenever you have the time, and we might go over the finer points of what we both know, though I understand this might not...pertain to much yet.
