Anyone else catch the Pantera: Behind The Music special on VH1 tonight?
Hard to watch. Goes absolutely to your soul. Made me want to absolutley bawl my eyes out. I don't remember exactly who he was, but he was someone with the band. When he started to talk about seeing Dime laying on the ground face down, not moving, and the guy just couldn't get anymore words out and broke down crying, I couldn't even keep my own eyes from watering up.
Rest in peace brother Dime. Your legacy lives on here, and you'll forever live on in our hearts.

"DimeVision - Vol 1: That's The Fun I Have", a tribute DVD to late PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, will be released on April 4 via Big Vin, the new label launched by Dimebag's brother Vinnie Paul. The disc, "which remembers and celebrates the life of my brother," according to Vinnie, will feature Dime's stellar guitar playing and offbeat brand of humor, and is sure to be a title every serious PANTERA fan will have to own. Check out the cover artwork at this location. Also available on April 4 will be the self-titled debut CD from REBEL MEETS REBEL (cover) — the project featuring three of the founding members of PANTERA (Vinnie Paul, "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott and bassist Rex Brown) together with legendary country singer/outlaw David Allan Coe. Both products will be distributed through Fontana.

too important to cut. Not everyone is fortunate enuff to have this in their backyard.
Words can't describe it. You have to see it for your self. Fly down to Texas, see it in person. Theres no other way to convey its power.
((EDIT)) It's made of brass, incase your wondering.
And the little dots are just what you think they are, Dimes. When it was just the Abbott headstone, I started putting Dimes on there, came back a few weeks later, and its got quite a following
((EDIT))

Well Grind that Axe for a Long Time! AND ILL SAY IT AGAIN!! WELL GRIND THAT AXE FOR A LONG TIME!!!!

THE ALROSA VILLA Thursday December 8, 2005
Part of the back door that everyone signs in memory of the victims.
Side entrance (Not side entrance that Gale entered)
Everyone freezing our asses off having a good time.
Our bonfire in the middle of a snowstorm.
What I wrote on the door. Couldn't think of anything else.
Lighting a candle on the rock.
 Stuff left on the rock.
 Lighting the candle.
 Stuff left on the rock.
 Stuff left on the rock.
The flowers I left. I also scattered dimes, but you can't see them.
Closeup of candle and beer bottles on the rock.
 Alrosa Villa sign.
Poster someone made and leaned against the rock.
 The rock.
 My flowers.
Girl writing a note on the rock.
What I wrote on the rock.
 Self explanitory.
 Remembering the victims.
Our fire later on in the night.
 Photographer, Deege, and Jeff.
 Jeff's amazing shoes.
 My peehole.
 Alrosa.
 Full view of the door.
Jeff and Deege in front of the sign.
These mean too much to cut. Sorry.

What can be said about Dimebag Darrell that hasn't been said before. Every single person that knew him, drank with him, loved him, or just plain listened to his music was affected by his death. One year ago today, December 8th 2004, the metal world lost a big part of itself. We didn't just lose a guitar player. We lost a friend, a brother, a fellow metalhead, a legend. I still remember reading the headline as I went to check my yahoo mail. "Former Pantera Guitarist Shot Dead On Stage." Immediately, I paniced. I thought to myself, "No, no its not Darrell. Pantera had another guitarist at one point. Or its a different Pantera." But I was just lying to myself. Being the die-hard Pantera fan that I am, I knew neither thought could be true. With much anticipation to prove my fears wrong, and with hands shaking with dread, I clicked the link, only to read find my worst thoughts were true. Darrell had been murdered. I can remember people telling me you can't live in the past. You have to move on. But what did they know? That didn't know Dimebag. They didn't know his music. They didn't know the happiness and excitement he brought to so many people. But they were right. You can't live in the past. You have to move on. You have to keep living life.
And we do. But now, we have to live out our lives, with this big gaping hole, knowing you're gone. You sit and wonder to yourself, how could someone so loving, with a heart of gold be taken from us like that? You were such a beautiful person, full of life, happiness, excitement; you didn't deserve it. Why did this sick, mentally ill person, think he had the right to take such a beautiful life?! He had no right. He had NO RIGHT! No one can ever compare to you, Dimebag, and we all miss you terribly. All we have left now are the great times, great music, and the great memories you've left behind. You are gone, but not forgotten. You will never be forgotten. With every passing day, we mourn your death, and celebrate your life, with a heavy heart. It is a heavy burden to carry, and we carry it proudly. We love you Darrell.
This Blacktooth is for you.

Now that I'm all alone Painfully aware I'm starting to feel the cold Knowing you're not there
Caught somewhere between my fears and dreams And all I have are demons here for company
Come and look inside, hope you like what you see And if you run and hide, you're scared of what is me Bind my idle hands, they only claw at me Drown in emptiness, my soul is left to bleed
Throwing a shadow on Every thought I have Knowing that something's gone Echo's in my head
Caught somewhere between my fears and dreams And all I have are demons here for company
Come and look inside, hope you like what you see And if you run and hide, you're scared of what is me Bind my idle hands, they only claw at me Drown in emptiness, my soul is left to bleed

Pantera - We'll Meet Again |
] |
I'll be posting a little something later for Dimebag. In the mean time, feel free to tune in to my webstream with winamp. All night I'll be playing Dimebag Darrell, including stuff from Pantera's "Power Metal" album.
Tune in here.
NOTE: The listener limit is set at three as I have limited outgoing bandwidth right now. Let me know how well it works, if you get a lot of rebuffers, stuff like that.

One year ago today, a metal legend was slain and taken from us. Metal lost a big part of itself one year ago, and now it will never be the same. I love you, brother Dime. I can't believe it's been a year since our brother, idol, hero, friend, metal fucking god has been taken from us. Instead of being sad, everyone should fucking shread like crazy and knock back a few blacktooths. Do it for Dime man, and don't let him be forgotten. Turn December 8th into a fucking MASSACRE and let the whole fucking world remember that horrible night one fucking year ago.
You won't see much of me today, I'll be at Alrosa Villa paying my respects. Forever is his name.
