For those who haven't ventured onto the holy land of Youtube and found this video yet, by all means watch this.

Very useful pointers to the Sops XD, and we could totally consider incorporating the dancers into our peformance.

I'm kidding, but it probably does help solve some of the pronunciation problems, if you can hear past her yodelling.

03 March 2008 @ 08:56 pm
Hello choir! Hmm after what Ms He said today I realised that some of the basses don't really know music theory and memorise notes instead of reading the scores. It'll be really good if we can all chip in to help so everybody can progress faster! :)

So - does anybody have basic music theory books (e.g. err Grade 1 to 5?) available for loan? If so people can go through them at home and stuff like dotted crotchets and major fourths and time signatures won't be a mystery anymore, and we can learn new songs more quickly! I just went through all my books; I think I threw mine away a few years ago. D: If you have some that you can bring on Wednesday, do comment! It will be very much appreciated :).

Hey everyone!

I was thinking we should have a batch outing sometime in the March holidays! We have choir on Tuesday, and the performance on Thursday, so maybe we can come together on Saturday or something?

A picnic/barbeque at ECP is all I can think of now. But do leave comments on:

1. When would a good time be
2. Where should we go
3. What should we do

Also, remind people you know to join this community!

Hey guys!

Here are the dates for the extra practices which we decided the other day:

1. Monday, 11/2, 3-4
2. Monday, 18/2, 3-4
3. Wednesday, 20/2, 2-3

I'll remind everyone here again next week.

Venue is most likely Zen garden. Comment if you can't make it, or if you want to suggest another venue.

Also, remind your CT-mates/section mates if they don't come online often!

Have a great Chinese New Year, everyone!

Hello fellow rioHC batchmates! :)

Welcome to our common livejournal community! While the yahoo groups functions as a more formal medium for announcements and files and so on, this place will be mainly more for our batch to get to know each other.

So, things to do:
  1. Get a LiveJournal account, if you haven't already! Then apply to join, and Yang Zi or I will approve your membership.
  2. People may not know who everybody else is, especially if we're going to use lj usernames. Comment on this post with your name once you have an account, so we can match the account to the real life person and see who isn't here yet.
  3. Start using this community! Posts can range from anything like "who's free on Monday 10-11 to go through Mate Saule together" to "some choir is singing Pamugun on Youtube! Check it out!" to "omg we DID IT WE GOT GOLD FOR CHOIR OLYMPICS GO US" (hopefully :D). The idea is to both be closer as a batch and to grow / improve together.
  4. Any volunteers for moderators are also welcome! Just tell Yang Zi or me. If you are artistically inclined and can make better layouts / user icons / bios for the community, even better.
  5. To keep our promises to Miss Lim, start practicing on NWC now!
Dingan dingan dingan ... What are you waiting for?

Yongquan :).
