I'm trying to get an art portfolio together using the webspace the school gives me. I'd also like to nab a domain for that over the summer sometime, as well as one for RTE. Geez, between that, and December-Rain, I'm gonna pay a ton in domain bills every year. @_@ Maybe I should space them out so they're not due around the same time as others.

I'm going to post my Acen pictures here because my normal journal cuts off images.

I'll have my camera with me for longer today. I sort of left it in the hotel room after changing costumes, so I wasn't able to get many more pictures. T_T

I should be sewing, packing, and cleaning.

Instead, I made another comic page. I didn't color it yet. TAKE PHOTOSHOP AWAY FROM ME. D: I think I'm going to leave it be for awhile and do something that I really should be doing instead.

I thought I should take out a few really yucky pictures from my in progress portfolio and replace them with some better stuff. So, here's that Ziggy and MOMO picture revisited, about 75-80% complete.

Because everytime someone sees Xan, they always say "He looks like the guy from x-men." Yeah, I must really suck because I never got into it, nor am I familiar with the characters. But at any rate, here's a feeble attempt to try to give him a bit of a redesign, as far as uh... eyewear goes.

Well, I decided that I'm going to look into online courses for design or illustration or something. Either way, I needs like... A PORTFOLIO. D:

But the good news is, I may be able to send in my digital non er... anime work. XD But I do need to take photos of my tradional pieces. I also need to practice my traditional technique.

I keep getting a lot of people who say, "OMG I'M SO JEALOUS OF YOU!!!!" and they keep cutting down their own work saying that it's so shitty. Well, I just wanted to prove that the old adage, "Practice makes perfect" is true.

I don't by any means think that I'm better than anyone else. But I can confidently look back on my old work and realize how far I've come. It really excites me, because I know in another 5 years, I will look back at my current work and cringe just the same.

I got to the point where I am right now by experimenting, trying new things, and first and foremost, drawing/painting constantly.

So next time you look at someone's work and feel that tinge of jealousy (trust me, I feel it constantly), remember that those people worked HARD to get where they are. Nobody is just born with the natural abilty to paint or draw amazing pictures. They may have the talent, but without determination and hard work, talent means nothing. So instead of hating yourself, just keep pushing your limits.

Huzzah! A story this time!

This is very spoilerish for RTE. But it's an idea that I've had festering in my head since, like, forever. But as far as the plot goes, it doesn't happen for quite awhile. I just wanted to get this scene written down. I think this will easily take up a whole chapter. Come to think of it, I can probably go back and write all my chapters like this. Sure, they're not amazing reading material, but it's good for a comic, I think. XD (Right now I just have little script like things... but I think this helps me invision the scene in more detail.)
