Oh the horror. Bopping around on some otherwise reliable links, was horrified to find Q's old ROB Crusade site is no more. Expired. Ran out. Dissolved. Too bad, as the world's best one stop shop for RoB info, compedium of films, photos, events. Pretty disturbing-- was anyone offered to take over? Very disappointing as new fans will have no crash source for real info. Well, here's to ya! Onward.

| Night Train Caps |
[02 Jul 2009|08:30pm] |
I don't know why these ended up out of order - I had a hell of a time getting them to upload as a single batch. Anyway, I was given the DVD of Night Train to review (it comes out July 7th) over at dvdcorner.net. I hadn't even asked the guy who runs the site for the film, so I was pleasantly surprised. :)
Oh, and my review is HERE if you were curious. I only briefly mentioned Richard because, unfortunately, his part is small (though amazing, of course - I'd say he has about ten minutes of screen time, but there's a lovely interview with him on the bonus features AND he's in drag [big surprise], so it's definitely worth owning). The movie is worth watching, though; I liked it a lot.
Anyway, these caps contain SPOILERS. I highly, HIGHLY recommend not viewing them until you've seen the film. Apologies for the fact that they're out of order somewhat.

Time for an update, I suppose-- and BTW as I write, Chell (sockglue) is having lunch at Pat Quinn's house. Richard news: He was one of the judges of the Alternate Miss World contest (or whatever it's called) earlier this month, along with Tim Curry, Pat Quinn and a host of others. Auditions are being held early June for the Stripper, completed by Ritz and Richard Hartley-- casting call just posted on line-- early June. It's scheduled for a 3 week run in a theatre outside London, starting 1 Sept, then a week in Glasgow and a week in Milton Keyns (not sure of the spelling) Been a long while, hope it makes its way west some day!

Does anyone know how to make journal layouts or even a background? I can tweak existing layouts, but haven't felt compelled to do so lately and figured I'd ask if anyone could make one for the community...it'd be swell. :D

| Richard in Dangerous Ink |
[17 Mar 2009|07:24pm] |
|
As of yesterday, Richard had a lengthy phone interview with Tom G at the Lowbrow Art Mag, Dangerous Ink. ALOT of good stuff was discussed, and it is scheduled to appear in the next issue along with the work of several artists' 'interpretation' of the bald one. The magazine is supposedly available in the US, in Borders and Barnes & Noble, but I don't know when the next issue comes out. So YAY!!!

| Night Train |
[20 Jan 2009|07:15am] |
|
It seems that one of Richard's latest projects called Night Train is now available to download on Torrent websites. I don't know when it will be officially released on DVD though. The movie itself I thought was okay but I was a bit disappointed with the ending. And as usual, Richard isn't in the movie much. :(
Still, I can see that the director tried to put Richard in as much as he could, it's just that Mrs. Froy is a minor character. Even though it's a small role he's still fun to watch, he plays a very convincing gentle grannie LOL and he carries around an adorable tan fluffy chiuaua with him!
I'll take a screencap of Richard in this movie if you guys would like. :)

| slow.....news.....day |
[06 Dec 2008|10:55pm] |
|
yikes-- almost a month since the lst post. What's new? Probably old news, but Richard did some public appearances/cabaret performances over the last couple months, and a radio play of his 'Pig in Boots' was to be aired this past week in the UK, anybody catch it? Didn't care for the Berlin production of RH, and is spending the winter in NZ-- where it's SUMMER and was 75 frikkin' degrees today!!! (and it will be in the single digits here tomorrow, hence my momentary disgruntlement...) It seems strange to me to celebrate Christmas in summer, but half the world does it and I'm just used to having snow. Happy Holidays, all!

| New Pix |
[05 Nov 2008|09:35pm] |
Interesting new pic of Ritz on Flickr, from the Rocky premierre in Berlin this weekend past. Also, relatively new site on Yahoo UK with some not-seen-before pix. Methinks he is less than delighted in pic 2-- though never less than DELIGHTFUL! http://www.contactmusic.com/pictures/richard_o'brien/1-1
