It's been a hectic year. But I have to say, I feel great about having done this again. Because with as long as the odds were last year, and with as amazing last year's accomplishment was for me, this year's NaNo tells me that I can do this, no matter what I'm dealing with outside of writing. I can do this. And I love this powerful feeling I have, because I feel like I can apply it to anything. XD Which may be scary, but who the hell cares? :D
I want to thank you both for all your amazing support the past four weeks. You know I love you both, and I miss you, and this wasn't the same without you. (It was better! ... HAHAHA, just kidding. ;D)

Quote of the Day:
Man acts as though he were the shaper and master of language, while in fact language remains the master of man.
-- Heidegger
First of all, HAPPY THANKSGIVING to everyone who's celebrating this year. (Marchelle... are you?) My Thanksgiving is feeling doubly festive this year because of some wonderfully productive writing I got done last night. Before sitting down to write yesterday, I was almost a day's worth behind my word count, but was blessed by a sudden rush of words that just flowed out in about two hours, which was amazing. I ended the night being two days ahead of my word count, and as a result, I have only 2786 words to write in the next four days. And I'm feeling incredibly optimistic. I'm really, really hoping to cross the threshold of 50k tonight, and hopefully surpass it.
( Finally, we could see the southern station just a few metres down the river... )

Quote of the Day:
You must learn to overcome your very natural and appropriate revulsion for your own work.
-- William Gibson
It's been a long and hectic week. And we're not even done yet. And though I haven't yet reached that moment of doom(!) when I don't know where my story is going anymore, I'm dreading the beginning of week two, because I know the week two slump is inevitable. In the meantime, here's an excerpt from today, which was quite productive for me.
( A familiar face smiled at me, and my heart tightened. )
Um... So, I know it's been pretty busy for you (I'm sorry for not responding to the comment you left... I read it and then dashed off to class and forgot to come back to respond... D=), but have you managed to get any writing in? Even if you don't make it to 50k, I think you should try to sneak in a few hundred words here and there when you get the chance this month. Just to put you in the mindset again and get you thinking about it. It's been a long while since we seriously wrote, and I know you love it just as much as I do. Good luck, babe! I hope things are going well with you!

PS -- By the way, check out Write or Die, an online motivator to get you writing. It's pretty nifty, and it actually helps.

Well, after extensive video-game inspired research, a Christmas-themed floor set, and expertly-executed NaNo avoidance, I can officially announce that I have had quite the start to this year's NaNoing season. And I'm so excited for the next 28 days.

Hello everyone!
This is the part I was having trouble with. I completely rewrote this part because I needed it to be something completely different and i was hoping y'all could tell me if you have a vague idea of what happens here, because it's not supposed to be lucid, and i'm not going to tell you what's supposed to be happening because then you'll be thinking it and making connections that may not be there. And so now, i'm getting to the point.

Oh, and question: when I want to say "the prince," should prince be capitalised or not? I can't decide and I don't know which is correct. (Also, that's the disclaimer for the discontinuity in the manuscript, sorry. xD)
I dunno, something still doesn't feel right, but I can't put my finger on it. I'd love your opinions.

Is it sad that I'm more inclined to keep writing than to read Eclipse? I can't decide.
Sorry that it's not the most exciting excerpt. It's not the exact beginning, but it was more intriguing than the rest. As I already explained to Jazz, my story is starting kinda slow.
It's funny, though my current manuscript started more formal (like Pride & Prejudice-esque), it's kinda regressed back into the style in which I was writing last November. Oh well. If you can't fight it, right?

I found these mainly by searching for the interests charity, community service, and health. If you have any other ideas about where we can advertise our cause or whatnot, then post them or just go for it. I'm thinking that there's not really a whole lot more we can do with the online portion of it; we're just going to have to start going door-to-door and business-to-business at this point. But, again, if you have more ideas, PLEASE share. Because I'm running out.
Hope you guys are having a good weekend so far. Don't forget that we're getting together at the Starbucks by the new King Soopers at 2:00 tomorrow.
EDIT: By the way, sorry about the confusion with joining
stridenride2008. I didn't realize it was actually closed membership. Anyway, you guys are both invited now, so make sure you go and accept those sometime.

THE FOLLOWING IS FOR MARCHELLE & DENISE. (Shruti, go away.)
Okay, so I was going to bed yesterday at, like, 8:00 but then I was reminded of our fundraiser for the 2008 Stride and Ride. And I was talking to Denise about it, and then I just got going. So last night and this morning, I've pretty much worked non-stop to get some basics done. And we should definitely plan a time to get together this weekend to talk some more definitive strategies.

PS -- Don't freak out. Let's not even talk about it. Let's just say "cool" and move on with what we're doing next, okay?

Well here's the scoop poop! I don't really post because I'm so close with my Grandparents here (in MS) that we're so busy doing everything that you could possibly imagine and I really just don't have time between reading for english and cooking and doing dishes and ... well it goes on and on and on. BUT I spend at least 30 minutes checking my email everyday and I spent a good 30 minutes writing to Charlotte yesterday but I really don't have time to do that and this (I only had one email today So I checked up today). SO, if you REALLY want to know what's up with me, just send me an email that says "what's up" in a few sentences and I'll respond with like my life. And like right now I'm already feeling guilty for spending this much time on the computer.... arrgh but at my Uncles house (if that's where we stay in Dalllas) I'll have plenty of time (hopefully) to actually post some. Plus my uncle is more technology concious and he expects me not to spend time with him.... alright i'm slowly being pulled away in to doing my good southern grandaughter thing! Love you all merry xmas more later I hope!

I mean I know most of us will be with our families next christmas but we'll be like flown the coop adults coming BACK to VISIT.
Us VISITING them not visiting WITH them. I can't believe it. I'm kind of scared. Not gonna lie. but it's gonna be a spectacular christmas. Last Christmas.
Sorry if that kind of dampened the mood it's meant to inspire to make amazing Christmas.
