We'll Review your LJ

review_you is a reviewing community - with a difference. This community is here to give fair and unbiased reviews based on a clear set of guidelines. We also aim to be well organised, to ensure that no review is missed or forgotten.

This is a closed community. Should you wish to become a reviewer, you can request membership here. Please be sure to read the post before applying.

To request a review of your journal, go here. Please read the disclaimer below before requesting a review. There is currently a waiting time of approximately six months. If you would like to be reviewed sooner, please sign up to be a reviewer so that we can get the list down.

If you have a Friends-Only journal, please be sure to add the reviewer AS SOON AS POSSIBLE after they notify you of the review. If the reviewer is not added as a friend within two weeks, the review will be cancelled, your journal will be removed from the list, and you will have to re-list your journal for review. If you are going to be away from your journal for a while, please either notify the community moderators or post something public that warns the potential reviewer when you'll be gone and when you'll be back.

Disclaimer

If you get a review that you don't think was fair, please respect the reviewer's opinion because it is merely that - an opinion. If you harass any reviewer in any way, or have your friends harrass them, you will be banned immediately and will not be able to be reviewed in future. If you feel it was unfair you can request a re-review. Remember that if you receive a review you don't like, you requested that review knowing full well it might contain negative points. If you aren't prepared to receive a negative review, then don't sign up. Remember that due to the length of waiting for a review, the review may not be reflective of your journal at the time when you sign up, but of the journal at the time it is reviewed.

The maintainers reserve the right to refuse a request for a review at any time.

If a reviewer is assigned to review a journal that violates LiveJournal's Terms of Service, it is up to the reviewer to decide what to do with it.

Background

While strolling through LiveJournal one day I came across review communities. Feeling like Goldilocks a couple weren't honest, would merely tell people what they wanna hear and another one completely opposite, honest but sometimes brutal for entertainment purposes and none of them reviewing nearly enough in my opinion. I wanted something in between, honest, professional but never sugar coated and never send someone away in tears (not intentionally anyway).

This community isn't original. There are many others like it. Our goal is to give what the others don't. To be maintained properly and judged fairly. We won't judge on your type of interests and we won't label you.

The purpose of a journal is to get thoughts and feelings out. Judging it would defeat the purpose, but we're here to do it because it's fun and so you can get a clear prospective on how people perceive you when reading your journal. To also be acknowledged for the hard work you put into your journal. But mostly, just have fun.
