What's this all about then?
As the name suggests, this is a reverse ficathon, also known as a Choose Your Author(/Artist) ficathon. Instead of making your request and being matched up with a writer or artist, here you choose your writer/artist and make a specific request of them based on what they enjoy writing. Hopefully this means you get just the fic you were looking for, maybe even from one of your favourite authors!
Please note: Although not exclusively dedicated to m/m slash, you must be prepared to write and request at least one m/m slash pairing in order to sign up for this ficathon. If you absolutely cannot do that, it's not the right ficathon for you. That said, gen, het and femmeslash are just as welcome in your requests and offers. If you will write any of those, please do say so.
Participants must be at least 18 years old.
Signing up
To sign up, comment on this post with your completed questionnaire by the end of Sunday 29th April 2007. You must fill in something relevant for each point, and feel free to give as much info as you feel you need. Only the moderators will see these comments, all comments to this post are screened. If we need to ask you any questions about your questionnaire we will email you.
The moderators reserve the right to cut off sign ups early if there are too many to realistically fit into the posting period, so don't delay in signing up if you want to be guaranteed a spot.
The questionnaires will be turned into ads for you as a writer/artist by our team of highly trained house elves, who will also assign you a wizarding name. If you've ever wondered what it felt like to be called Mildred Mugwump or Pubert Shufflebottom, you're about to find out!
The Rest of the Rules
The participant ads will be posted anonymously on Monday 30th April 2007. Participants may choose 3 writers from the list and one request specific to each of those writers. The mods will assign one of those 3 writers to write your fic. Ads will be removed from the list when 4 requests have been received for that author, so be ready to jump in and claim yours! Assignments will be sent out when all requests have been received, so don’t hang about!
Fics submitted should be a minimum of 1000 words. The deadline for completing your fic / art is Monday 18th June 2007 for first-timers and Monday July 2nd 2007 for everyone else. Reminders will be issued at appropriate intervals. Your fic or art should be emailed to reversathon3 @ googlemail.com by that date. If your submitted fic contains basic spelling, grammar or canon errors (such as those a beta should easily pick up) please note it will be returned to you for revision / betaing.
You may post your fic elsewhere after Friday July 20th 2007, but not before.
The Harry Potter Reversathon is based on the BtVS fandom's Choose Your Author ficathon (![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif) cya_ficathon), run by the lovely and obliging ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) leni_ba. The rules and questionnaire are based on those written by leni_ba, who kindly allowed their adaptation for HP by fluffyllama.
