Community Profile

In addition to this community, I would highly suggest joining the sos_usa community.

This community exists to spread news and information that it’s members feel:

• Have been surpressed in some way.
  
• Have received far less press than they should have given the content.
  
• Deal with issues of privacy, personal freedom, human rights and the environment.

These posts can be anything from links to news articles, summaries of things people have seen, FOIA released government documents, etc… and can be about any government, religion, company, institution, etc…

What this community is NOT is a place to preach that x institution or lack there of is better than y without backing it up in fact. FACT not FUNDAMENTALISM here.

To this end, there are a few guidelines that should be followed:

In posts (top level submissions – not comments) there must be data or information or be a request for information or data. (this need not apply except where noted below in comments which are not top level posts)

Examples of what is appropriate:

• Has anyone seen this news article about Y… (even if the post contains opinion and commentary about it… it provides the source data and information)
  
• Has anyone heard anything about X… if this is true….

Examples of what is NOT OK:

• The great god Blumber protector from cows will save you, if you trust in it’s great ears!
  
• You are all a bunch of conspiracy-crazed folks… the government is great! (note the lack of data… if this person backed up hir claims with data, this would be ok… though it would elicit a great deal of counter-discussion)

In all content (posts and comments) there should be NO harassing or threatening language, examples of what NOT to do:

• Bring up the persons’ questionable parentage by thinking their father was a hampster or the ilk.
  
• Claim to hate them because of their unreasoning belief in the great evil Hornicer lord of the cows, who reigns in the great sea of horns, tended by the evil cows.
  
• Threaten that someone will be sent to Drek, home of Hornicer lord of the cows, who reigns in the great sea of horns, tended by the evil cows to suffer in torment of the eternal MOO.
  
• Call someone an idiot just because they believe in Blumber.
  
• Make off topic references to your or someone else’s private parts in relation to anyone else’s private parts (example F*** you, I wouldn’t F*** you if you were the last person on the planet, lets go F***, etc… you get the idea)
  
• And if you didn’t get the point from the above… no profanity ;)

If any harassing or threatening language is used, the post or comment will be modded down (either by turning the post private and/or screening the comment) and it WILL be submitted to the abuse team at livejournal for violating the TOS.

Other than that, have fun and more importantly become informed!

Note: If you wish to post, you must join the community... it is an open community and you just need to go to the user info for the community and click on the join. If you wish to just /watch/ the community and don't want anyone to see that you are watching it, I have turned off the showing of the friends of list on the community so unless they checked your user info they would not see you have added it as a friend... just don't join as that adds to the members list which is visible.
