I don't care what length, pairing or genre they are-- just what your favourite stories are, and why. What attracted you to them? Why are they so good? Recommendations are good too, but what I'm really interested in is your experience as a fan reading fanfiction. As a Renthead, I started out only reading fic, but after having a hard time finding stories that I liked, I started to write (this was not my first time writing, as I had written for other fandoms, but I had originally not intended to write for Rent.) Now, I write more fics than I read because most fics are crap, but I do have a few favourites. Basically all of the Rent stories by volitaire on fanfiction.net-- she really does her homework, and her stories live. She's sophisticated and funny, but it's when you're laughing hardest that you realize you're sobbing. She has an alternate universe story set in the 1950s that I was hesitant to read at first, but it turned out to be brilliant. You must check out her work (warning: most of her stories are very long.) And of course, that staple Love Alone by wmmhija, also on ffnet. No explanation needed, as I'm sure you've all read it or heard from other fans who read it and wept. I cry every single time I reread it. The first two times were the best, but it lasts through many rereads. I have two other favourite stories, but I need to check up on who their author is first, because I forgot. I SHOULD      2 TELL YOU

thehypo		Tue, 11/17/09 - 4:16 PM Cast question Hey there. I got tickets to the only day I could goto the Rent tour's stop in Toronto, which was Sunday night's performance. I'm just worried. I saw the tour last year in Detroit, while Adam Pascal was out with a back injury. I'm worried because Sunday is a 2-show day (matinee and night), and the matinee is (based on the ticket prices) a more desirable show on Sundays... I'm just worried that one or both of Adam or Anthony (or other main cast) will not be in the show that night. My question is, is there any precident along this tour: Do the cast (especially Adam and Anthony) tend to take specific days/shows off for rest? Thank you. Edit: And perhaps a secondary question, on the weekends, where there are two shows a day for both days, have the Adam and Anthony been tending to take some of those shows off? Or have they been doing four weekend most weeks? I guess I just want to know if I should look into trying to get to another show that week if it's likely I might not see them both at the show I have tickets to. I was disappointed to miss Adam in Detroit, and I don't want to miss them again in Toronto. I SHOULD      8 TELL YOU

Rent Fans Give Back is a fund raising project devoted to raising money for Rent-related non-profit Friends In Deed. Friends In Deed, as many of you probably know, is a crisis center in New York which provides free support for individuals dealing with life threatening illnesses like HIV. The group was Mr. Larson’s inspiration for the life support group depicted in Rent. Donations will be made in honor of the current cast and our final total (along with a list of donors) will be presented to the cast as a final cast gift from Rent fans worldwide. This is your opportunity to be part of this meaningful gift and also to honor the show by giving to a great organization that actively addresses some of the real world issues that Mr. Larson depicted Rent.
