Community Profile

This is a small, tightly knit CLOSED yaoi RP. It is currently full, but there will be a rotating hold list. If you’d like to be put on the hold list, you can contact me and if you’re right for the community, I will do so. My contact info is at the bottom of the page.


INFO: Basically what you need to know is all summed up here. The premise, the rules, the odds and ends you’ll have to remember. The group chat has a few methods and parts. There are some requirements as well that should be easy enough to fulfill.

STORY: This is a post apocalyptic RP. Several viruses have been released from research labs, and have bred with each other, creating horrible defects in all humans and animals that have come in contact with it. A majority of living things have died away, and the ones that lived have various reactions.

SPECIES: Some have evolved and changed as an effect of the disease. This means they are now a new species… The species varies, and the living may now have special abilities. This is where creating a new character will be interesting. These people may be cross breeds of once mythological creatures, such as werewolves, or vampires- with less restrictions. Or anything else- something original preferably though the previous two choices are not out of the question. Pure blooded humans without odd abilities or physical changes are extremely rare.

Next there are creatures that were once human, and were infected. They haven’t died, but were unable to fight off the symptoms and thus have evolved into a dangerous, crazed species- no longer able to think logically, and naturally full of rage and hunger. They are admittedly zombie like, and are very dangerous. If bitten by enough of them, there is a chance that the one bitten will become one as well, depending on that person’s strength.

Last, there are full blooded humans that are immune to the virus. These are EXTREMELY RARE. But those that are unaffected have some sort of coveted immunity, that may be the cure for those already infected, if uncovered. Though that is not for certain.


LIFE FOR THE CHARACTERS: There is no electricity. There is no clean water. The people are living in a city in ruin. The survivors that still have their sanity have split up, and many have created clans. The clans hold various lifestyles and views, and often tend to be rivals with surrounding groups. This can mean anything from fighting, to rape, to murder. It depends on what sort of situation a character is in and what sort of clan the person is dealing with.

It’s been 3 months (as of 4/26/04- when the comm was created), so supplies are still fairly easy to find, though they’re growing slim. Morals among the survivors have dropped significantly. Thus violence and cruelty is not unheard of, even to fellow clansmen.

Our characters are not quite a clan yet. They’re just meeting. But eventually, once they group together, they will be facing the problems of this new world, together.


INSTRUCTIONS: When we can, we will group RP in a chat room. But as there are 8 members that may prove difficult. You can chat outside the community at any time- but you must paste it in the community, edited so that it is in story format, and behind an LJ cut. Otherwise, the RP will just occur in the community, as each person updates. This will take some patience so that we don’t post over one another, but we’ll get the hang of it, through Instant messages and learning to predict who’ll update next.

NOTE: If you don’t understand RPing in a community, click here to see a community I created that has slowed and become mostly dead. But this is the style you will need to post in on the community.

The format is THIRD PERSON, PAST TENSE. This is just like writing a story. So follow that style. Some may be used to a different method, but this one allows more detail and thought.

Make sure when you update it’s a decent amount of writing. Save one line posts and the like for small chats outside of the RP- which you again MUST POST LATER, EDITED IN STORY FORMAT (IE missing the screen names and little messages written to one another) AND PUT BEHIND AN LJ CUT.



CREATING YOUR CHARACTER:

Your character can be angsty and sad, or happy and cheerful. Your choice. An angsty past is simply expected. XD Though you don’t have to do so, of course.

YOU MAY HAVE EVIL CHARACTERS.

This can mean one of two things, at least.
The first being, your character can be a part of the main RP clan but have a cold, or aggressive side. No rules against that. XD
The other is you may have a character from a rival clan that will later harass our boys.
If you choose to do this- my suggestion is to create one character that will be part of the main clan, and once they become set, create another from the separate clan. In fact, I may require this later, to help build tension and action.

PROFILE: Unlike past RPs I’ve designed, this one does not require an in depth profile- but you are required to describe what your character looks and age, etc. The profile will look something like this.

The more important details, such as history, likes, dislikes, fears and weaknesses will all be revealed as the story moves on. Though you may want to write those out beforehand and keep them to yourself.


REQUIREMENTS:

The requirements are few and simple. If there is a problem, please contact me.

AIM: I would prefer if everyone playing had AIM or AOL. If this is a problem, please let me know.

A CHARACTER JOURNAL: This is just like a Livejournal, but you update it as if you are the character. This gives us all a chance to see how your character is feeling or what they’re thinking. BUT no one is allowed to post a comment. It’s private. A diary, or inner dialogue. So what one says in their character journal STAYS IN THEIR CHARACTER JOURNAL. The other characters don’t know it unless the character himself tells them. Do not forget this.

RULES:

1. NOTHING DERAGATORY. This means, no racism, prejudice, or any other sort of bigotry- from the members. The characters can be bastards if you want. XD

2. USE PROPER GRAMMAR AND PUNCTUATION. This should go without saying, we must be able to read what you write. If you have particularly poor spelling, please find a means of checking it before posting.

3. WRITE THE NAME OF YOUR THE CHARACTER YOU ARE PLAYING IN THE SUBJECT LINE, EACH TIME YOU UPDATE. Because each person can have multiple RP characters (in fact, you're encouraged to make a good guy and a bad guy or rival clansmen), things might get confusing. So each time you post, put the NAME of the character you're posting for in the SUBJECT LINE, followed by the subject.

For example, if my characters name was Burt, and I wanted my subject to be "When it rains, it pours", I would write, "Burt- When it rains, it pours," in the subject line....

4. UPDATE REGULARLY. No tolerance on this one. If you stop updating and don’t tell me why, you will be replaced. Not to be mean. Just have to keep things moving.

5. BE NICE. Let’s all be friends, k? Our characters may hate each other and attack each other, but nothing wrong with that- is there? XD If you seriously have a problem, talk to me.
