Challenge 62 To the ends of the Earth

This week's challenge is the BBC Mini Series "To the ends of the Earth"

It's 1812 and Edmund Talbot (Benedict Cumberbatch) is travelling on board a decrepit wooden warship. He is on his way to Australia to take up a Government post secured for him by his rich and influential godfather Read More

It also has the rather cute JJ Feild in a naval uniform in it too :D

Community Vote
As this is your community too, rather than just lay things on you, I would like to put this question to a vote.

I am sure you are aware after 60+ challenges it is not always easy to come up with new things for a challenge, and although we do Jane Austen things now and then, it is not a community all about her. The actual Regency period was a very short period in history.

What I am suggesting is that although I want to retain the name Regency Stills, because that will still be the main focus,it would be nice to spread our wings a little. However as keen historians know, most of the 18th century was the Georgian Period, and that my proposed changes would cover from 1714-1830. If you are happy with the idea, then vote accordingly.

Anyway, I am putting to the vote for the changes or not, but bear in mind that if the vote to keep things strictly Regency wins, we will have to eventually have to repeat themes.

I will leave this poll open for exactly a week.

Change is inevitable - except from a vending machine )

Challenge 60 -Notable ladies of the Regency Period
I am sorry for the challenge being posted late, I am under a bit of pressure at the moment as one of the members of my family is in hospital and I was visiting with him yesterday. While I have to be on alert with that and other things, I think it best the challenges are two week ones at present.

I have tried to add some information for some of the ladies listed, but I am a bit pressed for research time today due to family problems.

Entries are due for this challenge by Monday August 11th midnight EST

You can enter as many icons as you wish, you can use a lady from the times, of your own choosing, but unless it is obvious, like Jane Austen, could you supply the ladies name too, thanks.

Challenge 59: Regency Hairstyles
Our next challenge is going to be something a little bit different. You may use the images I've provided below or ones of your own, and the only rule is that they must feature a Regency lady's hairstyle. They can be from any costume drama (I've only included a few for your convenience) or they can be a painting, or even a fashion plate. Just so long as the hair is the focal point. ;-)

The deadline is Monday, July 28th, Midnight EST. It has been extended due to the schedule getting off track. ;-)

Challenge 58 voting
I'm sorry this is posted so late, I've been under the weather the last couple of days, and I haven't heard from [info]spikesbint and suspect she might be having PC problems again.

We have 44 very romantic entries this week, a big thank you to everyone who entered. Since this is posted late, voting will be extended, voting will last until Thursday, July 17, midnight EDT. Please vote for up to 8 icons; do not vote for yourself or have friends vote for you. The new challenge will be posted soon.

So long as I can breathe or I can see, so long lives your love which gives life to me. )
