About
"The most important things are the hardest things to say. They are the things you get ashamed of because words diminish them. Words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they’re brought out. But it’s more than that, isn’t it. The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried. like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly, only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understand what you’ve said at all, or why it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That’s the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within, not for want of a teller, but for want of an understanding ear."

- Stephen King, The Body

About

Redlard is a place to have intellectual discussion, theorize and philosophize, and bring up ideas or concerns about sex and gender and its relationship to ourselves and society.

However, this is not a support group. This is for people who are really looking for answers, are not afraid to be questioned or have their beliefs questioned by others. This is not a support group, a rating community or a picture post community. Use this community as a tool.

Why

As if there weren't enough trans and genderqueer communities. WELL. Not like this one. You can go to virtually any other community to get blind support for transitioning from people you don't even know, and who don't know you.

There's also a lot of things that people get uppity about if they're brought up. In a sense, the community censors itself. When you can't ask other member of your community things you're really curious about, what should you do?

Rules

Share your thoughts.

That's it.

Thumbs up

Critiquing, thoughtful input, good discussion, and a drive to learn more and contribute to learning is appreciated and necessary. Either have a good head on your shoulders or come wanting one.
Ask questions. Ask a lot of questions. Bring up controversial topics. And don't be afraid of other members. FIGHT. Yeah, we encourage arguing.

That being said, this is not a safe space. We don't want it to be. People will offend, attack, and question the hell out of you or various topics to their hearts content if they want to and they are allowed to.

Thumbs down

Whining = a tall glass of shut the fuck up.
Do I pass? Do we CARE?
"Why should I prove anything to you?!" Well why the hell are you here?

Don't pussy-foot around the subject. You got something to say, say it. We don't want any of that blind support BS, we want answers. Be realistic. This isn't a children's coloring book. This is a fucking free-for-all, bitches. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.
