Dear Mr. Tseng,
Dear Mr. Espinosa,
Dear Mr. Tseng,
Thank you for your inquiry and your patience. 200 pages is a very impressive number for a submission. For that alone, this is a substantial piece of work. This is some very promising stuff. However, the quality of the artwork fluctuates and the line quality seems shaky and unrefined in places. There is also a lack of backgrounds in spots where one needs to know where the characters are at any given scene. It would also be a good idea to make the story more cohesive -- more urgent. The concept is fine, we just need to give your readers a compelling reason to pick up the next episode.
If it is possible for you to refine the linework of the book to the quality you had on the cover, this would be a really good looking book.

Dear Mr. Espinosa,
I very much appreciate your response to my submission and your comments on the work. I am aware of the flaws that you mentioned, however, because I had been working on the graphic novel as a webcomic on the side; that is, it had not been a major priority. I did what needed to be done to advance the storyline in a timely manner on my website to appease my audience without sacrificing too much of my time for homework and a social life, which is why the quality of the artwork can be unstable. For this reason, were I to have the work published in printed form, I had every intention to revise the majority of the graphic novel; to fix the quality of the line work; to add more backgrounds where necessary; to fix the script in parts of questionable adequacy; to make the book something that consumers would find worthwhile to purchase. The pages I sent to you were only samples; it would probably have been more advantageous of me to send only the pages which I felt were of the substantial merit for publication, but for the sake of continuity, so that you are able to get the whole feel of the story, I decided to send the entirety of the first unit instead. Therefore, to answer whether it was possible for me to refine the quality of the line work in the book, yes, I am completely willing to do so and had been planning to do so all along if that is what it takes to get the book published in printed form. With that in mind, I urge you and the editors of Antarctic Press to once again consider publishing Directions of Destiny.

Dear Mr. Tseng,
Thank you for your prompt reply.
We do feel that you have a lot of promise and we look forward to seeing Directions of Destiny once the artwork and script are refined further.
Feel free to send in the pages when you are ready, whenever that may be.
"Directions..." as a whole, has potential. All that magic and dimension hopping while at school stuff is great. With an eye towards possible future serialization, we recommend you end your first episode in a suspenseful cliffhanger and reformat the series to encompass 24-32 pages per issue.
Best,
Rod Espinosa
