This was drawn for [info]virtualpersonal & [info]nashmaveric's 'Spandery Fairytale', at the promting of my dear friend [info]stretfordditto, it is a cute Fairy!Spike sat on the grubby hand of Boy!Xander XD

EDIT: I actually gave a print of this to James Marsters (in a nice clipframe), at his recent Words & Music Tour in London, unfortunately I didn't get the opportunity to give it to him in person, *sobs* so I don't know if he liked it or not, but he's always come across to me as a guy who has a good sense of humor, so I hope he thought it was funny & cute!!

Drawn and coloured by hand, then touched up in Photoshop, where I also added the grass background... and in case you're wondering we are looking down on Spike from Xander's POV, with Spike leaning back on Xander's thumb looking up. Since we are in essence looking at a close up shot, you just don't get the perspective really, I did the same pose for 'Skylight Voyeur', but since I drew the whole room in that piece, the 'from above' perspective is obvious... *sighs*

Heh, thank you very much... I was in two minds whether to make him cute or sexy, in the end I chose cute... I couldn't resist the no shirt though, it was just too many shades of black with his t-shirt, and I wanted to draw his muscles, after all Spike is compact yet well muscular!! *LOL*

Awwww, this is sooooo cute. I love it to bits. You've captured his playful/sneaky nature very well. Funny how even with the vamp teeth, he doesn't look scary. Lack of a shirt was a good choice, and the drawing is anatomically correct even ::grins:: Love how you got Boy in it too, both by what Spike is saying and the fact that it's Xander's hand. Looks a lot like a poster for a wall somehow.

Is it alright to link to the picture, both in LJ and wherever we've posted the story?

I am so glad you like it, and as for whether it's okay to post a link in your journal... are you serious?! A big fat HELL YES!! Go, live long, and pimp me!!

I'll totally be your art whore, have a wander around [info]redhotwords, it's where I keep all my art & fiction, (apart from 'The Breakfast Club' which is at [info]sunnyd_bfast), for some very sexy original boys, try Temptation of the Rose, which has a nude version Jason Nude</b>, or one of my all time faves (even if he was only the second serious piece of art I ever drew) Unexpected Encounters pt1, for pretty females try Dance For Your Daddy, or We Love Ice Cream!!

Heh, sorry for all the links... but no one ever looks at my original art *sniffles* but hopefully people will be more inclined to click once I get my thumbnail previews up *sighs* which means editing about 25-30 posts *twitches* it's gonna take me ages!!

*blushes* well there is like about 2 years worth of art and fiction in [info]redhotwords (and I've still got to post art from recent months on LJ), art takes me less time to produce than fiction, unless it's poetry or limericks, and I used to doodle in the quiet times at my old job.

Inspiration comes from anywhere, something I read, see, or even a comment made to me can set off the bunnies, and being artistically inclined is hereditary, my mum used to paint in oils, and she's promised me she'll go back to it when she retires in a couple of years time... though I am entirely self taught, either through example, and advice from fellow artists, or from the 'How to Draw Manga' books.

Thanks, I'm glad you like him, like [info]fanbot says, I just love the circle of inspiration which exists in this LJ community!! :D I like Fairy!Spike and intend to draw more... I have a fairly romantic piece thought out, and [info]fanbot has said I can use her sexy photo manip for [info]rakshathewolf's 'Fairy Dust' as a pose reference!! so something smutty too!! XD Oh, and look out for my 'Dogs On The Block' project, *points to icon* my naked chibi dogboy AU cartoons... since my evil mind first thought up the idea, I've always said that this will either get me applause, or linched by rabid fangirls!! *snickers*

I'm gonna print this on a t-shirt, and wear it on Saturday night, then count the weird looks I get *lol*

alpha male fairy... heh, that just brings to mind those wildlife programs on BBC2, can see them in the crosshairs of a camera lens, Fairy!Spike sticking V's up at the camera, as he's interupted in his domination of a certain dark haired beta male fairy... Oh bugger, I'm gonna have to write/draw that now!! XD

Wonderful. There were a lot of fairy spikes around for a while--and for some reason, spander! I think only Rasky is writing one now that I know of. Too cute for that story, it was wonderful one. :)

My own story was lavishly illustrated--in fact I think all of us who did any work had pretty stuff made for it. Find some art here with my story fairy art and [info]darker_spike has over 100 illustrations and fairy fics listed in its memories if you are a member. Cheers! Viva the fairies. Hope you do lots more.
