Community Profile

This is a community for those who live a polyamorous life. I'm intentionally choosing not to use the word lifestyle, because nobody can style their lives or relationships on another's and expect it to be realistic. I'm assuming if you're here you know what polyamory is. If you don't, do some research. Know what you're getting into here.

So, apply to join, be realistic, and show respect.

Here are the rules, as such, and are subject to change without notice.

* YOU ARE JOINING A CLOSED COMMUNITY
This is a closed community. To join, please read and understand the guidelines posted here. At the bottom of these guidelines is a link. If you agree to follow these guidelines and wish to join the realworldpoly community, click the link and the moderators will be notified of your request. This is the only way to join the realworldpoly community.

* AGE RESTRICTION AND BIRTHDATE DISPLAY
To be a member of this community, you must be 18 years of age or over. Your complete date of birth (year, month, and day) must be showing in your LiveJournal user information and must remain on display in your user information as long as you are a member of this community. Enforcement checks are made randomly. You will be warned if you are in violation of this rule, and you will be removed from the community after two weeks if your userinfo is not updated with your full birthdate.

There will be no exceptions to this rule.

* FRIENDS ONLY?
If your personal journal is "friends only" then you will need to friend sassymellowgirl until your access request is approved or denied; then you may remove sassymellowgirl from your friends list if you wish.

* PERSONAL JOURNAL CONTENT
Your personal journal must contain more than five entries to be allowed to join the community. You must also have been a registered user of LiveJournal for at least 30 days.

* COMMUNITY ACCESS
All posts in the community are automatically set to friends only. Because of this you must be logged into to LiveJournal to make and read the posts in this community.

* MODERATED POSTINGS
This is a moderated community. Your posts must be reviewed by a moderator before they will be viewable by the community members at large. Please be patient, a moderator will review your post as soon as possible.

* LONG POSTS AND IMAGES
Please, be considerate of others and put long posts and any images behind a cut tag. If you are unsure about how to do this - read this link and it will tell you about all of LiveJournal's unique tags: How do I use a cut tag?

* COMMUNITY PROMOTION
Promoting other communites inside the realworldpoly community is fine, but please keep promotions to one post per community per month. A reciprocal promotion for realworldpoly would be appreciated.

* BE CONSIDERATE
This is an adult community and we should be enjoying our interactions instead of policing children and those who think these rules do not apply to them. If you have a question about the rules then comment in the open entry and the moderator will try to answer.
