Thought I'd share something new I discovered in Second Life. Someone made a "set" that auto rezes, and guess what it sort of looks like? ^_^

And I'm all sorts of confused.

I've read up to volume 4 of the Manga, I'm pretty sure there are only four, right? Also, I haven't seen the TV- just the OVA. Could someone explain the series timeline for me? I mean, which order they're supposed to go in? It's OVA, Manga, then TV... right?

To be honest, I'm scared to watch the TV because after the ending of the OVA I wasn't sure I could go back to that universe. I cry every time I see it. Is it... you know.... worth it?

While I am not a member of the forums at "Dream of Twilight," I do occasionally stop by there to see what's going on in other parts of the R.O.D community. However, when I checked today, nothing is coming up. I checked the domain registration and it's good for another year and a half so that's not it.

Five weeks until Otakon 2009. One of the guests this year is Crispin Freeman, the English voice actor for Joker in the Read or Die OVA.

As usual, Otakon is in Baltimore, Maryland. I'm planning on going. Is anyone else from this community planning to go?

"Peaceful Leaves" Part 5 is now up and live!

Now I just got one more to go. Should be one hell of a ride to the Omega.

I know this topic had previously been discussed in the community a few years back, but here are some actors I had in mind for the principal characters of an R.O.D. live-action film as this does somewhat concern the future of my two adapted screenplays that I had written on the Read or Die series. It was not very easy to do so (to pick an appropriate cast, that is) as the TV has such a large cast of characters who are either new to the universe, have originated from the Read or Die/Read or Dream manga, or are returning from the OVA/OAV, and of which whom all have to seem right for one another cinematically. And just to note, anyone may feel free to add in own personalized ideas and/or opinions, though I don't expect anyone to do so (and yes, you are even given the freedom to criticize my casting choices if you would like to; I would not mind at all as I would be more than happy to hear what other people's thoughts are on the casting).

Hey everybody. I did my bi-weekly check-up of ReadorDie.us website and it's down right now. I'm not sure what the problem is as diagnostics on the server keep coming up clean. Is everyone else having a problem and can anyone help me determine how long it's been down?

I have back-ups of the site, so that isn't a worry and the R.O.D Wiki is on a different server so that's still working.

There will be more updates as the situation develops. Thanks everybody.

Update: Apparently part of the domain name server information was corrupted, so while each part in the system was working, they weren't working together completely but enough that the diagnostics came up clean (I'm not 100% on this explanation but I'm assured it's what happened).

Of course, now that the site is back up, I really have to put it on the front burner and have it worthwhile to have working. Anyone got anything good they want to put up?

Hey fellow ROD fans.

In an effort to simplify my life, I'm getting rid of a lot of my geeky schwag. Top of the list are my various toys. While I could put these on ebay or something, I'd rather they go to the home of a fellow ROD fan who might have missed out on them the first go round (or didn't know they existed).

So basically, anybody want these? The Michelle's leg is broken, but it's nothing that a little crazy glue won't fix. I'll let them go for a super fair price. I'm talking cost + shipping fair.

Am I missing something? Maybe someone can help clear this up for me.

I finished watching ep. 23 and 24 of R.O.D. the TV and there are some things that I'm slightly confused about.

We're told the Dokusensha created and implanted the Paper Sisters' memories and that they're not really sisters, even adopted ones (as Michelle believes). So essentially, all of their memories are 'fake'.

But:

1) In ep. 24, Michelle says that their memories of living at Nenene's were true, so does that mean their previous lives in Hong Kong were fake? Then does that mean the sisters' memories were created and implanted prior to ep. 1 and they really only emerged from the lab to be independant agents starting in that episode? (And yet, ep. 1 started in HK, with Nenene staying at the Sisters' apartment...)

So if that's true, then Dokusensha arranged Maggie, Michelle, and Anita as a family unit with the fake memories of having met on the job (Maggie and Michelle) and then taking Anita in?

2) They seem distraught to know that they're not sisters. But didn't they know that when they first met (albeit in their 'fake' memories)? According to their faked memories, Maggie and Michelle did a job together and end up taking Anita in. They become self-appointed 'adopted' sisters. And yet when they find out the 'truth' (ep. 23) they're devastated that they're not 'related in anyway' as Junior puts it. This doesn't make sense.

3) Wasn't the Book of all-seeing eyes burned when Anita threw it into the the helicopter wreckage? So which book is it that Joker receives from his team after they do the 'fake' Nenene (aka Mr. Mirror)/Joker exchange? Or was it that his team managed to recover it from the helicopter wreckage...but that seems improbable, given that it was FIRE that the book was thrown into.

Could anyone clear up/confirm any of this for me?

Hullo everybody! Hi, I'm dreamsofpaprika  (real name's Melissa Wong) and I just recently joined the community back in mid-January so I'm a newbie. In addition to that, this is my number one very first post to the community, so yeah. Okay. Let's get down to business. My ultimate new friend jdnightghobhadi</lj>  suggested that I post this to the community and share it with everybody, but truly, she deserves all the credit because she was the one who discovered this on the internet so here it is: there's this extremely resourceful site out there called www.nowcasting.com in which actors mainly unionized by the LA theatre group create *accurate* resumes of themselves and post extraordinary photos of themselves as well  (but don't be fooled because not every actor out there posts their resumes to this site). And upon discovering this site, JD fished out a few cast members from Read or Die including Tricia Dickson, Rachel Hirschfeld, Sara Lahti, and Jessica D. Stone ( note that as actors are still filling out their resumes, check back often for updated credits). Hellena Taylor, Siobhan Flynn, and Megan Harvey are members of the site as well, but all they posted were a photo each and no resume.
