So who's totally excited?
This will be the first year that I've been to Reading. I'm going because I love the line up this year. So what can I expect? I've been to festivals before, I'm a Download Veteran, so I'm not talking general festival information. I'm looking for stuff that Reading specific.
Also has everyone packed for camping yet? I'm procrastinating about it right now. I'm mainly packed but not quite. I feel like I've left something out.
Also who are you going for. While BFMV is my favourite band ever and I'm really looking forward to them I'm going for MSI.
Yes I'm rambling!

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I'm Nat. I've been going to Download the past few years, but for varying reasons I'm not going this year. My boyfriend brought us tickets to go to Reading though :) I'm looking forward to it as I've not been before. My boyfriend lives down that way though and is a regular. I have to admit I am slightly scared by the thought of so many drunken people with camp fires and can't help wondering if the toilets are worse or better than download, lol. Who else managed to get tickets?

It looks like you can only get car park tickets when you buy your weekend ticket which is a bit of a bum. Does anyone know if there is a phone number or email address I can contact to register my car, or if it's too late and I'll have to get there some other way? Which is fine and I'll meet new people maybe, but of course it's so late that there's nowhere in the whole of Reading to stay. I've been to festivals but never camped before (I'm really not a camping kinda gal) but eh, I figure if I absolutely can't find anywhere else to stay (and that's looking likely) it'll have to do. Only, my parents are furious that I'm even considering it.

So, anyone got any ideas on somewhere to stay and anyone got any opinions on if it really is a stupid idea for me to camp on my own?

READING AND LEEDS SEEK LARGER CAPACITIES

With tickets selling out in record time for this summer's festivals, organisers Mean Fiddler are seeking to increase the audience capacity for both sites.

Speaking today (4th April) on BBC Radio 1, Mean Fiddler Festival Director, Melvin Benn, claimed that he was confident he would be granted permission to increase the capacity of both sites and hopes to have news on the Leeds site by the end of April and the Reading site by mid May.

Those still keen to obtain tickets for either event are requested to subscribe to our meanfiddler.com backstage area, where, as of tomorrow afternoon (5th April) from midday, members will be able to register for the prospective tickets. Tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Good news for peeps who didn't manage to get tickets.

To anyone who bought Reading tickets for the sole purpose of selling them on ebay, thus making them unavailable to people who do actually want to go;

You're a bunch of capitalizing arse bandits

I'm not the only one who is posativeley fuming that there are now literally thousands of tickets on ebay, not 48 hours after they went on sale. Some of them are selling for double the retail price. Nobody in their right mind would bid that much money on the 'promise' that tickets would be delivered to them in august, particularly as reports are saying that half of them are bogus.

I hate touts so much. I wish there was something we could do about them, but alas i think we're totally screwed.

p.s. please please please don't spam this post with tales of how you managed to get tickets because i'm feeling a little upset about it at the moment!

Hey people, I was listening to Radio 1 this morning and on the news it said that 60,000 tickets for Reading and Leeds had sold out last night. But isn't Reading alone a 55,000 person capacity or something? Does this mean they still need to release thousands of more tickets? And also, I'm sure they've released them in batches in the past years, lets hope they do it again!

I have friends who have been there before who have helped with tips, but the more info I can get before I go the better!
