| About: | Concieved out of the idea of combining the joys of snarking with a rational way of being in the world, ![[info]](http://p-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} rationalsnark is a community for Myers-Briggs Type Indicator iNtuitive Thinkers , called NTs or Rationals, or other individuals who prefer an analytical, logic-based approach to life, to vent frustration about living in a world which often seems senseless to them, and which regards them as aliens. With the estimated occurence of NTs as low as 5-7% worldwide (source: David Keirsey), it’s easy for Rationals to feel very alone. This is the place to post cats, snarks, or rants about the difficulties of being a Rational in a non-Rational world. For your edification, a definition or three: A snark is a complaint or smart-alec remark that is generally quick and to the point. A cat is a specific subtype of snark- short, precise, and meant to wound. A rant is an extended diatribe All three are welcome in this community Community Guidelines: Make sure all posts are germane to the topic of rational-related frustration. This is not the place for your quizzes, advertisements, poetry or pictures of your pets. ntpersonality or rationals are good places to discuss more general topics related to NT. The four rational types have their respective forums ( type_entj, entp_mbti, intj, jmbt_intp, ) and there are several communities for discussing the finer points of MBTI. If you wish to promote another related Livejournal community, please consult the moderator beforehand. Otherwise, all spam will be obliterated on sight. The moderator welcomes input, but she is the final arbiter of whether or not a post is sufficiently relevant. Don’t call people out by name if they’re not present to defend themselves. Also, if your post relates to material elsewhere on the Web, you may quote or pseudo-quote the material, but do not name the author or link to the original post. Whereas I generally think that people should be held accountable for publishing idiocy on the internet, the purpose of this community is to blow off steam and let it go, not to start flamewars. Targeting specific, named individuals is also a violation of the Livejournal Terms of Service. Don’t dish it out if you can’t take it- this is true of all snark-related communities. This is a community specifically for Rationals, and as such, your posts are as much fair game for deconstruction as the rest of the world.
