this was my first tattoo, done back in may for my 18th birthday. my own birthday present.

got this done about a week ago. getting it colored, eventually, in a deep orange, yellow,red scheme.

Well, Atlas was really just a good idea that was birthed between my boyfriend and I a few years back, when I was getting ready to turn eighteen. I've always had generally larger breasts, and I wanted a tattoo that wasn't easily visible, so there came the idea of a rib/chest tattoo. I wanted something I wouldn't regret, which means something generally funny and unique. That's whre the character holding up the breast came from; I wanted the tattoo to fit to my anatomy, I didn't want to just be a simple flat canvas. Well. Anyway, I've always been interested in Greek mythology, so since the titan Atlas holds the celestial sky, I just substituted my breast into the equation. And tada, my tattoo is now over the internet in several online articles and in some european body modification magazine. The actual drawing was done by TC, and the tattoo was pulled out by Mick Palmesano at Ma-Zel Cutom Tattoo in Everett, MA.

The second tattoo was very much so an impulse "buy", in that I only made the appointment because the same artist (Mick) had an opening and would give me a deal if I took the spot. Previously, i had planned on just getting a lily tattooed on my left foot, with the stem going up my calf. However, I couldn't sit there and enjoy some tattoo that I 've seen a ton of times before. SOOOO. Pink Floyd came to mind, and I fell in love. I got the two flowers from "The Wall", one on each foot, obv, in the pre-coital scene. One is supposed to be the vulva, the other a penis (if you haven't seen the movie). I will be getting it colored eventually, if not soon; just as well, I plan on getting the stems to continue up my leg, until they meet at my calf, where I plan to have one stem hold onto a half of a star of david and the other hold onto a half of a clover.

Terra is a good friend of mine so I let her do anything she wanted and I don't think it could fit me any better. This was her first time doing one of her orginal pieces. I even let her intial it.

The moons aren't healed in this pic they look soooo much lovelier now. As so as I can I am going to go back and have a background put in with a huge orange and yellow sun.

Here is my Hedwig Tat also done by Terra. It's from Hedwig and the Angry inch and symbolizes the fact that there is always another half out there for us.

Sorry for the butt shot but I don't really have any good pics of my Shamrock and roll tat. It was done by my friend drew and I mainly got b/c i thought having a clover on me would bring good luck which I think it was and the drop kick murpphys where my first concert.

My checkered board heart tat is because I am a rudie for life! It is also in honnor of a conversation i had with an old friend she told me about this guy that would not stop bothering her about her checkeredboard shoes saying she was only wearing them to be cool and she simplied replied "it means unity bitch" I even thought about tatttooing that on my ankle too but drew told me to think about it first and i still haven't decided

I got my first tat at 18.
All My tats have been done by close friends. I love Terra and Drew(even tho he moved and then I moved and we are seperated by sooo many states now)

I saw Rachel at Bethesda Tattoo again last week for a quick two hour session.

The honeysuckle might be my favorite part of the whole piece. Subtle but so pretty - the color came out even better than I ever could have imagined. In contrast to the realism of the flowers the leaves are very one-dimensional. It's done on purpose so that all the attention is on the flowers. I wasn't sure about it at first but the more I look at it the more I love it.

The rose looks very bright at the moment but it should dull as it heals into a more peachy-coral color with some pinkish tones (it's also a little blurry, sorry!).

Large Pattern on my back, runnic text inside that says "Power of Body, Power of mind. With my own two hands may I guide and shape my Destiny." A personal mantra. I'm the type of chick who believes if you want something, fate won't just DROP it in your lap. You have to work and strive to make goals and dreams come true. To reach your desired destination.

As you can also see, I have "metallic" looking Ghost in the Shell ports on the back of my neck.
I am a HUGE G.i.t.S. fan. I have such a crush on the Lt. XD I actually saw the movie when I was much younger as one of my first exposures to anime, and it really stuck with me. I just couldn't pass the ports up as a tribute to my first anime love. I'm actually hoping to get microdermal implants in the port holes eventually...I've had several heal well, but am debating with my hair. (It likes to eat random things. lol!)

I designed them a long while before I got them and thought them over. I'm a huge fan of Tim Burton's work. Mainly the black, white and greyscale feel...the swirls and patterns used so I sort of simplified the design some and came out with these. I'm thinking of adding something in the middle, I'm just not sure as of yet. It will come, eventually, I'm sure. ^_^
I wanted something a little more feminine, but to stick with my love for black ink.

My first tattoo. Ahhh...a true testament to youth. Small, typically placed, simple. I'm sorry I don't have a better pic, but I don't really have a lot more to say or show about it. Its quite simple. I've been thinking of doing some Egyptian themed work around it...maybe Bastet and Sehkmet on each side. I just need to figure out how I want it worked out.

Well, after getting lost Saturday (there is a H Street NE and an H Street NW - big difference, NO Cyn is not in Chinatown!!) in DC, my hubbie and I finally made it there. Love the new digs and Paul was very nice. It was good to finally meet him after hearing such good things. We got started right away with Cyn. After getting drilled for six hours, and not in a good way, this is what I came home with:

The picture is gorgeous but the colors are even more vibrant. The tattoo is on my entire calf - looks awesome. She is the same artist that did my backpiece. And this so happens to be her bird that now lives with us and is attached to my husband "Big Daddy" like glue.

I got a new tattoo.

My man Matt "Porkchop" Ward drilled me for damn near 6 hours last night and I love the end result although these pictures aren't doing it justice.

This tattoo is a tribute to my wife, we met on the internet many years ago her nickname was kabuki-girl (A descendent's song title) and while I won't put her name on me cause that's gay this will serve as my tribute to her. I now have all my girls on me in some way shape or form.

I had spent most of my childhood days in hospitals, and had major spinal surgery and rib surgery. during that time, my mom would alway play Totoro for me, and bring me cute sanrio stuff. it made my childhood a little better. later in life, I thought if I could always have those comforting things with me at all times, it would make my life a little happier. it has. :D

my first tattoo - has been touched up since this photo was taken. it is two hands creating a heart in the middle surrounded by alot of swirly fluff. i wanted a neutral, yet colorful tattoo for my chest because of how often it is seen. i wanted it to be girly and lovable. i got it because i'd been a tattoo lover for years before i was old enough and wanted my first to be a big one that i would love (hence the heart). it's a representation of all the styles i love - colorful, swirly, unique, and a little transparent. it was also the first chest piece that my tattoo artist did. we were friends before he started apprenticing, and offered to do this for free as a project.

I traveled to Australia in November 2007. While there, I got my first tattoo. It's on my left ankle.

Not the best quality, but it'll do...

I'm really excited about it, none the less. It's exactly what I wanted (the colors, etc.), and it has a special meaning to it. Reminds me of not only being in Australia (a souvenir), but also of my best friend.

So I have finally finished my lower arm tattoo - its right on the inside of my right arm. I got the outline done last spring and finished the coloring this weekend - I didnt want to show anything before it was finished but here is the final piece - its a "spayed female mutt" - if you look at her belly you can see stitches from spay. I may put some more color in the background but Im not sure yet. Its supposed to look like a mangy mutt - no specific breed.

Im really into the spaying and nuetering concept - hence the tattoo...

Hi again! This was my application, which has not been approved or rejected yet, but I have a new tattoo to add to the mix! It was also done by Mo Malone at Iron Age in St. Louis, MO, and it is on the inside of my left foot. Nothing spectacular, but it is a good reminder to me -- I am very shy by nature, and it makes me feel stronger and more confident just knowing it's there. (It is from another R.E.M. song, incidentally!).

Just a piece of ol' Sailor Jerry Flash. I put the words "Life Serves the Risktaker" in the banners because I feel like the biggest payoffs in this world are after taking a huge risk. If you don't just close your eyes and leap, sometimes, you may end up leading a mediocre, boring life.

This piece, another flash, was done by my pal Will Bledsoe @ Lone Wolf Body Art in Nashville, TN. I got the "poison girl" shortly after my lifelong best friend and I parted ways. It was kind of a tribute to her.

My humping bunnies were done by a lovely lady named Kristy at Habitual Body Art in Portland, OR. I got it because, well, bunnies are cute. And I like sex. Besides, I don't think all tattoos have to be serious or meaningful. I'm a total gooftroop and wanted to get a sweet joke tattoo.

My mustache was done by Kristy at Habitual Body Art in Portland, OR, as well. Once again, I'm a goober and wanted something funny.

Last but not least, my pride and joy. This piece was done by Brandon Hannah at Lone Wolf Body Art in Nashville, TN. We stopped right above the elbow because I was attending nursing school and needed my tattoos to be covered by my scrubs. When I dropped out, we decided to take the piece all the way down to the wrist. I have an appointment this week to get more work done on it. I'll post more pics as it progresses.
The thought behind this piece: The banner reads "A Cuishle Mo Croi" which, in Gaelic, means "The pulse of my heart" (i'm irish, obviously).. The flowers symbolize my family members.. for every month you are born in, there's not only a gemstone but a flower, as well. So I got all my family members flowers as a family dedication piece, of sorts.
