I did some polls a couple of years ago, but my friends list has changed so much since then, I wonder if I should perhaps do it again. The people who comment are different, others have moved into different fandoms, and I have also friended a few people in the Supernatural fandom. I am considering friending some people in the Torchwood fandom as well, but not Doctor Who, I will stick to the friends I already have in that fandom.
Taking these things into consideration, I think I should redo the polls that would appeal to more than the Buffy!Verse, which a couple were very Buffy!Verse centric, such as the shipping one. Don't think I will do the kinks one again either.....or if I do, maybe I should post it to
nekid_spike rather than here.
I'm just not sure. The characterisation one would be multi-fandom, but wonder how many of you read fanfic anymore. Everywhere I look, comments seem to be dropping off for writers, even in the new fandoms. I know I am not reading as much new stories myself, and in the newer fandoms I have an interest in, have gone back to lurk mode mostly. I know I am not reading many multi-chaptered stories either. I feel I have wrapped myself up in older fanfic that I really love, and keep going back to. Like a security blanket.
Okay, another meme...Go on then, take a stab at it :P Whoever gets the most points, uh...can give me a story prompt, and I'll write it. But only to the winner :D
Also, some questions can have more than one answer...but the majority of points will be awarded to the one with the most creative and/or likely answer.

This was my contribution to another recent fanfic challenge at IDW.
Rating: PG
Challenge: Write a fic (any length) switching at least once between Fred's and Illyria’s perspectives (in either 1st or 3rd person.) The fic should be set at some point during the time frame of After the Fall (aka AtS Season 6), exploring what it is like for both Illyria and Fred to be sharing a body and struggling against each other.
For readers unfamiliar with the comics, the ficlet I've written is a scene from Spike: After the Fall Issue 1, in which Spike discovers a possibly resurrected Fred after L.A. gets sucked into a hell dimension. I've "novelized" the scene, and added what I imagined Fred's thoughts might be.

Do it way big, or don't do it at all.
I guess I'm tired of hearing the phrase, "Let's be realistic, here." Staying realistic, not trying to exceed the standards, leaves you trapped in a boring box--a cell for yourself and your imagination. What do you really lose if you try? Trying new things, making the attempt of greatness, even if you don't succeed, is what makes life worth living. "Being realistic" is for people who are worse than quitters--it's for people who don't even bother to try.
So to all of you out there, weighed down by people in your life with their "glass is half empty" mentality, shut them out, shut them down, and don't settle. Follow your bliss, guys. You'll be happier if you do.
Yeah, this totally fits into my wacky scheme mentality :P

On evenings like these, I always think of the last bit of James Agee's ( Knoxville: Summer 1915. )
Love love that poem and summer nights and gathering with my family in celebration. At least I think tonight was a celebration. Went to
sczsister's house for a going away party for three of her four children. They're headed off to colleges in Canada, California, and Massachusetts. We'll really miss them, but even though they're leaving, I don't feel like we'll never see them. One thing I've learned is that life rarely moves forward in a straight path. Children who leave do come back. I went to UMass the fall after high school, withdrew at the very end of my second semester, went to SUNY Stony Brook for a year, left school altogether for a few months to wait tables, and then returned to UMass to finish my degree. Not that my story is typical, and I certainly hope they have more direction than I did in my youth, but you never know how things will work out. I'm happy for them. Excited they're entering this awesome new phase. And college is wonderful. Wish I could have dragged that part of my life out for even longer than I did.

So this user has flamed a bunch of my stories. No real criticisms just saying my stories suck and insulting me, oh and actually told me I should kill myself 'cause they are that bad. Well I like my stories and honestly just don't see why someone would even read more than one if they didn't like them. I am not sure what to do in this situation. I have replied to a few stating that I understand that the user didn't like them but that they didn't have to read them either. What else should I do? (If you haven't guessed I have never been in this situation.)
