ADDITIONAL CONCERTS IN PLANNING

Because for all concerts in Europe the tickets are almost sold out, the management announces that for the first quarter 2010 further concerts in Scandinavia, Great Britain, Ireland, Russia and also Germany are in preparation. As to be expected German tour stations Dortmund, Erfurt, Dresden, Mannheim and Kiel were named. Simultaneously additional concerts in Cologne and Berlin were announced yet for this year, whose ticket sale should begin before the coming weekend.

I swear I'll remove my negativity shorts and put on my fangirl panties after this, but these are the things I think about when my mind isn't in the gutter.

I love Rammstein, and I don't blame them for keeping a safe remove from the fans for the sake of privacy and security, but there are times that their aloofness teeters on the brink of contempt, especially for non-European fans. Sometimes their silence reads like indifference, and it bothers me a bit. I don't want to know who they're dating or where they vacation or if Richard waxes his manbits, but as a fan, I would like to feel included in the buildup to the tour and album release.

Their press releases are sporadic and read like business memos. Their interviews are rare and have a perfunctory undertone, and their website is a joke. News disappears off the site soon after it's posted, links are removed without notice, and the band itself seems absent. According to members, the fanclub doesn't offer much for its exorbitant asking price. Discounts on merchandise and a fanboard? The fanboard, as far as I can glean, doesn't offer exclusive content--no band member chats or exclusive photos, and the discounts are minimal.

I realize that Rammstein can't control the presale, but they could issue statements to the fans acknowledging that things haven't gone as smoothly as they should have or could have in more experienced hands. They could have asked Emu to order more servers before the presale or to hire Internet-savvy consultants before they undertook such a complex and massive endeavor. I realize that Till is a thudding Luddite, but Emu claims to be Internet-savvy, and Richard just strikes me as a guy who likes to have the latest and greatest of anything. Even if he knows squat about servers, the man loves to talk. He'd be the perfect mouthpiece.

I just think the band could do better in safeguarding its image when it comes to the treatment of fans beyond their utility as fangirling ATMs. I've heard good things about the guys when they bother to engage with their fanbase, but that engagement seems rare, and the band often seems indifferent or outright dismissive of fans if they're not actively approaching them with money in hand. At the very least, folks whose tickets were canceled because of a server failure should either be refunded or have their orders honored with proof of confirmation, not told, LOL, so sorry, but it's too bad for you. More monies, please." Even if Rammstein has nothing to do with that policy, it reflects poorly on them.


As a Rammstein fan, your admiration doesn't earn much. They don't seem keen on fan meets or autograph sessions. It seems like they want the money and the admiration, but have little interest in their fanbase beyond that. As someone who has had the pleasure of meeting many of my favorite bands and found them wonderful(if I could, I'd build a statue of Kirk Hammett in my yard), I find Rammstein's reluctance to engage with their fans on the most minimal level disheartening. Is my perception just a symptom of the disconnect between the expectations on an American audience and a European one, or are Rammstein really more openly mercenary than most bands?

"In the new number of the German magazine Metal Hammer, taken out today, Emanuel Fialik, manager of Rammstein, confides in an interview. He describes the new album of the group there:

"From a personal point of view, this disk is most great surprise since the birth of my last son. It is what I lived on more beautiful in 2009, until now. I am stunned myself that Rammstein, after so many years, can again innovate. The disk will disappoint in its contents no fan of Rammstein, although there are certain musical surprises. In brief: I am fascinated. It is a magnificent disk, and the group is exactly in the last finishes. Musically, it has the strength of Mutter and simultaneously the beauty of the melodies of Sehnsucht - it is exactly what it overlaid in my ear. Songs are often very hard, but can be permanently danced in a crystal clear way, and there are two magnificent ballads.It gives to hear all why Rammstein was estimated in the past. My personal opinion is that it is musically the best disk of Rammstein that there was until now."

The manager also confides that there are the other concerts foreseen in 2010 in Europe."

It seems their management company, Pilgrim, hasn't been idle during my self-imposed hiatus. Indeed, the hijinks have not only continued, but escalated, as some fans who had previously ordered tickets to the German shows are now being told that the server "lost" their reservations, and that, despite their email confirmations, their reservations will not be honored, LOL, so sorry. The solution, according to the Pilgrim braintrust, is to try to place your order again and hope for the best.

Has anyone actually had this happen to them, or is it fannish hysteria?

Words can't describe how frothingly angry I would be if I got my reservation confirmation only to be told, "Whoopsie! Our server ate your order, and despite your confirmation email, we're not going to honor your order, LOL, so sorry. Please to be prostrating yourself before us again."

Why did they decide to issue tickets for the German shows(or is it all the European dates?)through the Rammstein website only? Was it a shameless money grab by Pilgrim, i.e, an attempt to avoid ticket broker fees, or were they trying to prevent scalping? Whatever the motive, it appears to be an unmitigated disaster, and their feeble attempts at PR come across as smug, callous arrogance, or at least indifference.

Why, oh, why does Rammstein continue to use them as their management when they have clearly bungled so much?

Start saving your money now! According to NME.com, Rammstein are set to feature in Guitar Hero 5. A full list of other bands are at the link source. Any guesses for which song(s) will be on there? Du Hast for sure and maybe either Ich Will or Amerika.

Seit Bereit is a name that has come up before -- a possible first single?

ETA -- on Herzie, someone was able to determine the registration of these sites. Apparently, Seit Bereit has a December expiration date, which lead them to think that it might be for promotion. In that case, perhaps THAT is the name of the new album???

Unbeschreiblich wie glücklich wir waren , als wir Ende der letzten Woche eingeladen wurden, um die ersten 3 Lieder des neuen Albums zu hören . 3 Lieder ohne Wenn und Aber . 3 Angriffe auf unseren "guten Geschmack" . Nun ist ein Album erst ein Album , wenn das Bild komplett ist und auch das letzte Stück verklungen ist , aber wir verraten nicht zu viel , wenn wir schon vorab von unserer Begeisterung berichten . Genau wie viele andere können wir es nun kaum erwarten . Alle Abteilungen des großen Schiffes stehen nun wieder unter Volldampf . Seit mehreren Monaten liegen allein aus Deutschland mehr als 150.000 Ticketanfragen für die am Jahresende beginnende Tour vor.

Stockholm hat uns naschen lassen und wir haben noch immer den süßen Geschmack der reifen Früchte im Mund . Um unser und euer Wohl machen wir uns nun keine Sorgen mehr.

No words can describe how happy we were to receive an official invitation to a listening of the first three Rammstein-songs from the upcoming album. Three uncompromising songs and three attacks upon “common taste and morality”. An album isn’t an album until the last line has been sung and the final note has sounded. However, it's no big secret to tell you about our great enthusiasm. Just like many others we can’t wait. All departments of the good ship "Rammstein" are running on full steam! There are already more than 150.000 ticket-requests for the tour that will start at the end of this year.

Stockholm let us nibble and we still have the sweet taste of the ripe fruits in our mouths.
Well, we are not worried about our and your welfare anymore...

Anybody else got Rammstein-related ink?

As you may have heard, there has been a recent spate of hackings across LiveJournal, and it seems to be larger communities that are being hacked. Once the hackers have gained access to a community, they make a post saying that the community is closing. They include several links in this post. Do not, under any circumstances, click any of these links, as they are intended to spread a malware keylogger.

So in case any suspicious post comes up on our Pimp, do not click the links. Our community is not dissolving and not moving anywhere else. Just inform LiveJournal.

Let's hope this thing won't affect us. Especially now when things are finally moving on in Rammstein camp. We need this community!
