| Geta message vis Twitter when someone wants to play! |
[Jul. 7th, 2009|01:49 pm] |
There is a regular Monday evening game on Lackey. Games starts between 9-11PM US Eastern Standard Time.
You can also get a page sent to your cellphone or desktop via Twitter. Here's how.
You will need a Twitter account. Follow: http://twitter.com/werewolf_rage
In your Twitter account, under Setting go to Devices and input your phone info and check the box sayings its okay for Twitter to send you messages. (create a second Twitter account to page your phone if you don't want messages from ALL the people you follow)
Now, how do you tell people you're on and want to play? Post to this journal. The post title will be sent to Twitter with a link.
Twitter will only show the TITLE of your post, so make sure the post title says you want to play! You can include in the body text how long you'll be around, what ever else you'd like. It'll send out the ping via Twitter within five minutes.
As a courtesy, when you log off Lackey, please delete the LJ post. (since otherwise people may read it up to a day later as a blog entry and be confused) |

| Print & play Bane deck! |
[Mar. 14th, 2009|03:15 pm] |
Download the PDF here
Need a preconstructed starter deck for demos but you don't have any spare real cards? Download the deck, print, trim, and you have a fully playable Bane precon! Magical!
I'll eventually get to making a few more of these, but Banes is the only one I've done thusfar. |

| Conversion documents- It only took 14 years |

You're shitting me. Great Fenris is not a shitter.*
Here's one for Apocalypse to Tribal War: http://www.rainydaypaperback.com/files/ragestuff/apocalypsetotw.html
And one for Tribal War to Apocalypse: http://www.rainydaypaperback.com/files/ragestuff/twtoapocalypse.html
PLEASE NOTE: they have no been playtested. That is for your group to do. You should now have roughly, oh, 1000+ new cards each for both games. Go make girly squealing noises in excitement, I know you want to.
They're both organized in roughly the same manner: easiest to hardest. The things requiring the least tinkering are listed first. (go fig, Past Lives were easy!) The things that require the most jiggering and adjusting are at the end of the document (it's characters... not surprised...)
At the very end is a list of stuff that I found while looking through which just plain won't convert (Gnosis based Apoc action to TW) or is horrendously broken/unbalanced in the other system (TW's Tongues in Apoc). There's a few that might look fairly innocuous, til you consider the worst case scenario. Neon Elemental made the list as "what happens if it turns over Cleft in Twain? Do all the players then draw 15 cards? WTF?" (ditto Wicked Counter. OWCHIES)
I'm sure as people play with them, they'll find additional WTFery. Or determine some of these need clarification. I'm inclined to just list items as "do not use" rather than list individual card errata. Please drop me an e-mail with commentary from your group or additional cards that seem too broken to be converted. |

| | same as before | ] | Just some recent events which people might not be aware of: - CCG Workshop is even deader. - Ludoholic is offline while Bugladen looks for a new place to host it. I hope he does, but who knows when? I have given up coding for this because I don't think the stuff we require to happen is going to (e.g. deck editor, or even a means to load a deck). Also progress elsewhere is more promising. - Last word from Arcanist CCG:
When I last worked on Rage, I had all the text prepped. All I have left to do is upload my images to your server and release the game on my site.
The man has other things on his plate, but it is very hopeful. As commented elsewhere, this only allows two players and requires the two players to connect directly to each other. - No actual progress on Lackey CCG, because the volunteer is not at home. However, it is definitely on his wants-to-do-soon list.

| | Love Album IV. Hey, it's relaxing. | ] | Magic Set Editor (MSE) is software designed, as you might guess, for creating your own Magic Sets. Specifically, it allows you to put your text and art into actual card frames, and you can do it in a matter of seconds. Since the software allows additional plugins, I have created one for Rage. (Building the plugin is basically a series of very small problems, which are perfect from when I am tired and frustrated.)
You can find it at: http://mtg.pifro.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=468
I know there are still some glyphs for the characters which need to have white replaced with tranparency (for some reason PSP is saving transparent as white). Some of them would benefit from being replaced entirely. However, it works so I am putting it out there for people to break. Have fun!
Since it now works, I did the current set for playtesting through it, which can be found at http://www.werepenguin.net/rage/open along with the other details on Sahel. For extra flare, now when you display the cards in the set you can click on the card names to see the actual card (sans art). (They use the War Council glyph because for some reason I didn't glyphs for Rainmakers and Rainfall, and Fenris hasn't designed the Sahel glyph yet.) |

| Blog off! |
[Jul. 25th, 2008|05:07 pm] |
Don't know what's in the internet waters this week but there's been a lot of Rage activity going on in the last few weeks. Lots of inquiries from players that haven't played in years. Sold a lot off the cards off I had listed through my business.
Time is right for a little bit of a push on Rage, see if we can drum up even more activity.
So a wee little challenge for all of you with blogs. Do a post on Rage! Post about the latest set, what you like (or hate) about the game, whatever strikes your fancy. Link to a piece of art you like from Rage.
You get the idea.
You have no until the end of July. Once you're done, post a link here in comments or email me and at end of month I'll do a master list of all the posts for your reading pleasure. I'll cross post the list a few different places.
A little fun for you and some cross promotion for your blog! |

| Volunteers wanted for Rage online coding |
[Jul. 25th, 2008|05:04 pm] |
For those who have vaguely been paying attention, Rage has not been available for online play for a couple months due to server issues. Picks-at-Flies has been hammering away at a web based interface since then, trying to get it to work. Once done, it'll play in a browser window and be compatible with Mac. (and probably Unix too, but you'd have to ask Picks)
Annnnnnyway, he's finally got far enough along on hammering stuff out that he's looking for some volunteer code monkeys to get things rolling.
You can see a summary of some of what he's done here (it's in geekspeak and involves flowcharts. If this excites you, we want YOU!) http://www.ludoholic.com/wiki/index.php/Rage
If you would like to help Picks code, prove you are not a spam bot byunscrambling his e-mail address rageapocalypse.com at picks-at-flies
And sending him an e-mail indicating you want to help him hammer out code. |

| FAQ update |
[Dec. 3rd, 2007|04:49 pm] |
Finally got the FAQ updated to incorporate new timing that was released with rainmakers. You can see updated FAQ here: http://www.rainydaypaperback.com/files/ragestuff/ragefaq.html
Stuff that's been updated is in red. Some important highlights:
MEDICINE BAG Yes, I want you to pay attention to errata for Medicine Bag because I know how popular it is: "ERRATA: rather than healing a killing blow, Medicine Bag will block all damage from one killing blow. Unblockable items cannot be blocked by Medicine Bag."
(this basically was to fix a problem with the timing of redirects like Taking the Death Blow. Yes, this does mean you CAN now kill someone with a Medicine Bag with that unblockable Anatomy Lesson. You shoved that bag somewhere painful)
New Moon Errata: New Moon prevents Garou, Fera, Banes and Vampires from frenzying. It does not prevent Fomori from frenzying (unless they are also Garou/Fera).
(Yes, no more Vlad dropping New Moon and then frenzying on everyone and everything. Fomori got allowed to still frenzy because they have so many other problems, it seemed a fair balance bit.)
*Non-fetish equipment that says "character" on it may be used by non-characters.
*Circular Attack is now a Redirect effect and follow the rules laid out for redirects in the new combat timing
*Fetal Position now blocks 6 damage from any one attack, not any attack of 6 or less damage so you may partially block an Entrail Rend with it. (your Entrails are hard to get at!)
*Tribal Alliance and Tribal War no create Loyalty/Rivalry instead of a quasi Loyalty/Rivalry effect
Lots more little tweaks, but those are ones you really should pay attention to as they're either major changes, or tweaks to popular cards. |

For those curious, I've finally taken some pictures of the Rage Baseball hat that I bought when Comic Books on Parade in Santa Barbara ceased to be (I'll always miss them) back in 1997. Does anybody else have one?

| Alpha playtesters for Hellcats wanted |
[Sep. 15th, 2007|09:57 pm] |
We need playtesters for the next set, Hellcats. It will feature Bastet, Bastet, Bastet, and oh yeah, BASTET!
Alpha testers will be working with the full database of cards that have no yet been tested at all. This means they may be crazy-broken. Your job: find the bad cards, BREAK THEM! Only the best cards will move into the later open Beta.
While we will be focusing on Hellcats, Alpha testers may use cards from the rest of the block as well. Some of the cards from later sets that receive extensive testing may thus be bumped up to Hellcats if you test them enough.
We will be doing all Alpha testing on the Gatling engine.
We need more playtesters for the Alpha test. Send me an e-mail at fenris_lorsrai@yahoo.com with your user name on the Gatling Engine. |
