Welcome and thanks for stopping by! As you might have noticed, this is the very first Nodame Cantabile icontest. Nodame Cantabile was created by Tomoko Ninomiya. It consists of a manga, a drama, and an anime. You are welcome to join and watch the community as you please. We are still growing, so hopefully you'll stick around and help us get even bigger!


While a member here at r_s_icontest, the mods would like you to keep a few things in mind!

1) You must be a member of the community in order to participate

1a) Friending the community isn't necessary, but it helps keep you up to date.

3) Fan art is NOT ALLOWED. Official anime/manga art ONLY. If you question the validity if your image, feel free to leave a comment in the submission post for that week.

4) Host your icons on some place like Photobucket or Imageshack. We will not have a seperate photobucket account for this icontest, so please prevent cheating by hosting your icons on LJ.

5) Icons must be: - no more than 40 k in file size - no more than 100x100 pixels in dimension - be no more than 10 days old at time of submission - meet the criteria of the current theme

6) Since we are a still-growing community, you are allowed to submit 2 icons per theme.

7) Do not advertise your icon around before the winners have been posted. This prevents cheating.

8) Do not get others to vote for you. Do not vote for your own icon. Simple rules of icontests.

If you have any questions with anything, feel free to post your problem on the most recent screend post (but first, check the tags to see if there is a post that might answer your quetsions/be more logical to post your question before you do so.)


We have rather simple submitting method. As it is only Nodame icons we'll be accepting, you don't have to worry about what series or what character is in the icon, etc. However, we do ask that you follow this basic format while submitting:

1) Your icon
2) Your icons url

Please include both; if there something wrong with your submission, the mods will ask you to please fix your post. PLEASE MAKE SURE: that you follow the rules of the theme. Failure to meet the theme will result in a DQ from that round if your icon is not fixed by the time voting is put up.
