We just got an agency-wide email memo letting us know that they are:
Renaming the Food Stamp Program to the “Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program” or SNAP.
SNAP! That's just too FABULOUS!
SNAP!
"Your benefits ended at the end of last month. Oh, SNAP!"
This change is going to be too much fun...

Okay, ETHNIC Plugger stock, but definitely Plugger socio-economic circumstances. I finally realized this just now. I grabbed the Crate & Barrel catalog from the coffee table on the way out the door this morning for some fluff reading. On my break (just ended) I was reading it and realized that I don't recognize at least 3/4 of the food items in the display photos of the kitchenware section. I mean, what IS that green stuff? And the stuff that looks like shiny, colorful celery sticks (in red, yellow, and green)? Or what looks like those dried pig's ears they sell in pet stores for dog chew toys? Only sugar-coated?
Yuppies live in a totally different world than me...

I am the kind of person who would excuse himself for burping even if I were alone in the desert without another human being within earshot.
On an unrelated and completely random note, I'm inordinately amused by the Hillshire Farms television ad currently airing on our satellite system. "That's some serious meat you're packin'!" I'm seriously 12 years old and giggling like someone just farted in church.
