About
After months of filling my flist pages with my workouts and having my friends do the same on theirs, I [info]thaliestra decided to start a community where queers can post their workouts, discuss issues of health, fitness, & nutrition (especially in relationship to how our gender identity & sexuality impacts these issues and how these issues impacts our sexuality & gender identity!), seek advice, and find support & motivation in their quests for healthier bodies, minds, and spirits.

Although this is a community primarily geared towards issues surrounding working out and fitness, I hope members will be comfortable discussing *any* issues that may pertain to physical, mental, spiritual, and sexual health -- issues ranging from which cardio to choose, coming out, preventing or healing cancers, gender identity, why you're having a bad reaction to a certain lube, how to practice meditation or mindfulness, HIV issues to recommendations for good sport bras, etc. It's all good :)

Please do offer suggestions about topics you'd like discussed (or just start a post!) or things you'd like to see happen in this community :)

After joining, please post an intro telling us of yourself and your related interests, goals, health concerns, etc.

Community Rules:

1. You must be over 18 to join

2. You ought to identify as some flavor of queer

3. No pro-ED or destructive tips

Richard "Dick" Button (born July 18, 1929 in Englewood, New Jersey) is an American former figure skater and a well-known long-time skating television analyst. At age 18 in 1948, Button became the youngest man to ever win the Olympic title - a distinction he still holds today.

Button suffered a serious head injury in 1978 when he was one of several men randomly assaulted in Central Park by a gang of youths armed with baseball bats and tree branches in a gay bashing incident. According to reports in the New York Times, Button had been jogging in the park near his home and was attacked while he was watching a dusk fireworks display.
