• Configure your community to have Closed or Moderated Membership and restrict membership to the community only to users whose birthdates on their userinfo page indicate that they are over the age of 18. All future members must display their full birthdate, including year, on their User Info page.
  
• Remove any member from your community who has a birthdate listed which would make them under the age of eighteen, or who has not listed their complete birthdate in their userinfo, including year.
  
• Require that all adult or explicit material to your community be posted with a security level of Members-only, including any past entries. You should also set the minimum security level for the community to be Members-only.
  
• Delete any public entries containing explicit content, unless the entry poster is willing to mark their entry as Members-only. All remaining public entries in the community must be free of adult content.

Because this community has grown so much (and Welcome to all...we're really excited to have you come play with us), _alicesprings and I have decided that we need to reiterate the rules and ADD a new one, so here goes:

1.   NO Brian/Michael
2.   NO badfic  (While it may seem lame, we're really picky about what constitutes badfic.  However, that's what      separates this community from others.  Trust us, there's plenty of really, really good stuff to last us a looong time and we've only just started.)
3.   NO flaming.
4.  PLEASE do not put recs and links to fic in your comments because we will be forced to delete them.  Why? you ask.  Well for two reasons.  One, it defeats the purpose of the community if we can't  all read and discuss the recommendations and two, it makes it really hard to organize and maintain the Memories section for archiving only the best.

We want to thank you all for joining.  We also want to encourage everyone to join the discussions, we're enjoying them, some of the authors seem to be really enjoying them, and we want everyone to feel free to participate.  Think of it as a book club.

Ok eveybody, we're ready to get started.  _alicesprings is minutes away from the first post.  However, we just wanted to point out a few things.

First of all, we want to welcome everyone and remind you that this is a safe Queer as Folk fanfic playground.  We have very few rules:  NO Brian/Michael stories, NO badfic, and NO flaming.  However, these rules will be strictly enforced and as maintainers of the community, we reserve the right to delete any post that breaks them.  If you aren't sure exactly what constitutes badfic, be forewarned that practically everything at www.bjfic.net and www.midnight-whispers.com is what we consider badfic.  ETA: This of course, exempts all the authors you all "know" to be of the upper echelon in QaF writing. And while I personally am thankful those places exist as archives for the wonderful fic, I can't help wishing they had some form of selective elimination. If in doubt as to what constitues badfic, email us at qaf.retread@gmail.com and we'll let you know.
